My mate got his first eagle last week after saying something similar! Off the tee on a hard 90° dogleg right lined with trees. Did the nastiest slice over the trees and finished 2 feet short of the cup! Awesome to witness that shot won him the game that day lol
Yeah but then you have to deal with the consequences if going for it doesn't work out which puts me in the mindset of how much better my round would be if I had gone for the less riskier option 🤷♂️
@@hogu3337 how can you say that when you havent even been there? Ye i agree on some part, cuz now adays people use filters.. but ive been there. b4 you talk you should actually know what ur talking about. Ur insulting me as a norwegian, saying our nature is filterd.
Wow...what an episode. What Erik is doing for golf is something no other video creator has been able to accomplish. It breaths life back into the game, life that comes from the people who devote their lives to it. The shots, are gorgeous, and man does this course scream something I need to play in my lifetime. Thanks Erik and Skratch team for all you guys do and these videos. I just hope you can get infused with even more capital to maybe one day do a full length documentary series! However, I can only dream.
Erik when I first joined your channel you opened my eyes up to a side of golf I'd never seen nor really thought about but now as your channel progresses and evolves you open my eyes up to the world. Top man mate, I'll shout you a cup of tea if you're ever in the South of England 👍
This was the best AIG yet. I've been watching for awhile as well as all the content Erik posts on his personal channel and I've always gravitated more towards the storytelling style on his personal channel, but this was so well done I would be happy to watch a feature length doc about this course. The cinematography, the editing, the pace and storytelling with the overlapping interviews were all excellent. Well done! 👏
Maaaaate. This is such a magnificent episode. Next season please elongate, surely no need to cut them to 10 minutes, you must have acres of footage in the camera to delivery to your achingly hungry fanbase. Yet another trip I somehow need to wedge in before death! Stunner...
Stunning to say the least. I am a big golfer, but this place seems to be the heaven on earth. The question most of us ask is. What is going to take us to travel? The Limited time we have off? When we only have two weeks out of the year. There must be some other way Why don't we dedicate our life to travel and to live on a budget? So we can experience something like this on a regular basis? When all we do is dream at our desk?
Truly beautiful, it takes lots of dedication and a bit of madness to create something so amazing in such difficult circumstances. You have to admire those chaps for what they've attached, its certainly been worth their effort. Another course to my list courtesy of Erik. I will no doubt watch this a few times over the winter. Thank you for sharing it.
Love all your episodes!! Really want to see longer videos, may be 20 mins? I'm always hooked on them left wanting more ... Only seeing a few holes each episodes leaves me craving for more!! Keep up the good work.. just a suggestion
After four seasons finally a course I have played, although only the first 9. I played it during the worst weather I have ever played golf in, we stopped after 4 holes just to dry up, but I’d still rate it the most amazing round of golf I have ever played!
This course is like something out of a fever dream, or a day dream. Everything about it is larger than life. This is unbelievable. Beautiful course, beautifully done.
Erik and all the guys involved in this I have to say this is perfection. I even joined !! The bad news is you can't do better than this. You've made the perfect film. Thank guys, Simon
I think golf is spiritual because it puts you into nature with a purpose, but that purpose does not detract from nature, and it isn't work. Great episode.
49 dislikes of this episode? Are they kidding? This documentary was absolutely amazing. Hats off to Erik and his production team - and the staff at this incredible golf course.
I was able to play Keilir I Iceland when I was there, thought I was pretty North, this trumps that, amazing experience nonetheless to play golf until Midnight..... love
Thank you for putting this beautiful piece together for us. I had the good fortune to be there a few weeks ago - just after mid Sep - and walked a few holes, including the amazing first - what a starter! Unfortunately our schedule didn't allow for a hit but it was a lifetime experience just to be there. Sadly the wind didn't allow me to send up my drone. As you say, it is a place you would want to return to. I can tell you that from Australia, it's quite the journey but that drive around Lofoten (Loo-forten with the emphasis on "Loo"!) is like nowhere else. You have a new sub from Sydney! Cheers - Dave
This is the most amazing UA-cam video I have ever scene. Thank you so much. And thank you for talking about it being spiritual. I have used that many times and people unfortunately look at me like I have three heads.
Wow this episode 😱 just stunning, just wish mainstream saw the beauty in golf! You don't get it until you play it and that's what this course is all about
Beautiful golf course. You have the best job ever, I appriciate your love and promotion of the game. I hope you get more than one round in when you visit these far off courses and I'm always curious how they maintain these remote courses.
Amazing place. Thank you for showing it to me. You managed to capture the solitude and what must be an almost overpowering venue for introspection. Talk about leaving the city on the first tee. One of the few places where I would prefer to play alone, just so I could hear what it sounds like interrupted only by my own noises.
Its an amazing course! I've played there several times, it can be so incredibly unforgiving if you miss the fairway, the heather just swallows your ball. As he said: it is tempting you to try, but the smart thing is to lay up. Next time you visit Lofoten should also try the course in Bodø, just to the south of Lofoten, where you can also watch the midnight sun while playing. Love your videos!
I visited this place this summer, and i gotta say the track really has metured. So fun and beautiful! The fareways and greens are just stunning. However as a non-professional it's a quite hard course so you gotta brings loads of balls :D
Amazing looking course and location! There's a course in Iceland too, in Reykjavik, that's right out on a peninsula, looks pretty cool and a good place to see the northern lights but to be honest, this place is far more beautiful!
“You could lay up, but that’s boring it’s more fun to try.” That’s a life quote
I think i'll get this as a tattoo
Thats so true!

Production value through the roof
too much drone footage imo
im standing on hole 1 on this course while i comment on this. and yes you are right !
Drones+filters ppl: wow

Best episode yet. And that's really saying something.
This series seems super underrated, I wish the episodes could be longer.
Cracking episode.... a pleasant surprise to hear the Irish accent from Jerry all the way up there in Norway
Definitely! What a random life for the boy from The Emerald Isle
Really really can't understand why UA-cam isn't pushing this high-quality content to more viewers, easily the best-produced Golf show on UA-cam.
By far the best video and Course yet. When you said it is “One of the most beautiful courses you’ve played”, how is it not the most beautiful
Best written and narrated episode so far, hands down. Awesome work by Erik as always. Inspiring.

Loaded up your golf bag at OSL, i work there! Knew this was coming when i saw your travel bag!
I need to go
This series deserves millions of views. Please continue on to Season 10!!
It should be ILLEGAL for an episode of AIG to be under 30 minutes.
There needs to be a part 2
Ugh!! Eric lives the dream life. Paid to travel the world and play golf. If only we were all so lucky.

Justin Green I didn’t want this episode to end! Agree 100% that EAL could do a full 2 hours on this course.

Better than those lousy golf channel segments. Every. Day.

This is an actual beauty of an episode, instead of the usual weird ones in some desert, not that we don't appreciate that, but this IS beautiful

Seriously awesome video man. Takes us mad followers places we otherwise couldn’t experience. Appreciate it. From Sydney, Australia.
I have watched this video like 20 times. I can not get over it
Absolute chills!...and not because you’re in the arctic
Now visit the southern most links. Parallel 53. Magallanes Golf Club in Punta Arenas, Chile
Going to check it out we should connect
Jeremy Mulvihill the only course here. I’m the superintendent.

There's always that 1 person that feels the need to dislike after a perfect episode, great stuff Erik, every shot was like a movie, just outstanding
Fantastic episode. Practically grew up on the old 6-hole course. The sea bass at 4:13 has nothing to do with Lofoten though. Still, 10/10 episode :)
Remarkable piece of land. Could not imagine playing here! One can dream....
Beautiful. Played and photographed here when it opened in 2015. Amazing and cant wait to come back!
I was able to play Keilir I Iceland when I was there, thought I was pretty North, this trumps that, amazing experience nonetheless to play golf until Midnight..... love
Lofoten Links i way up further north. Having said that, and also having played the course, I must admit: I envy you playing golf at/on Iceland!
Beautifully written and narrated, fab course, golf is such an eye opening event!! regards from the UK
Erik you are the National Geographic for the sport of golf. Love your stuff!
This captures why I play golf...it's an experience.

Beautiful natural terrain for a unique golf links and an Irishman involved Jerry Mulvihill

Incredibly well done! Add this to the bucket list!
Incredible
The course looks amazing but I have nightmares about tee boxes like the one on the first hole. lol
My thinking pretty much the same. In fact i was thinking irons only and no higher then 6. But then where do i lay them up?
