    Good job !! A little tip , use 304l/308l filler metal for 304l material. U can use a 316l for low heat applications ( 316 has about 3% molybdenum in it wich becomes more brittle at 475 °c ) . And 316l is more expensive than 308l money wise .And buff the pipe and fitting ends on both sides before welding (3M has those buffing wheels u can put on a drilling machine). It welds more cleaner and the weld comes out even more prettier . But once again good job . ( u can weld the bad tie-in from the inside without filler metal no prob , just a fast 1 cm pass is more than enough ) . Keep at it !!

      @The Most Illusive Man well now, you claim to know me by the way you speak , and know what i have done until so far .. i do not have really the energy to deal with you.. now i am going to sound arrogant , but whatever.. when i used to work at actemium in Belgium (food and beverage division) we used mostly 1.4301/1.4307 (304l) and 1.4404(316l) with 316lsi . Later at Nlt-pivaco it was the same thing exept pharmaceutical which was 100%1.4404 . Some clients wanted it that way , some required filler and others did not wanted it. When i later worked at Weber(I still work with them for the moment) which does chemicals and petrochemicals every type of metal has its specific filler . They are way more serious than the other companies. They even have couple of welding engineers . 304l is not permitted to weld with 316lsi because of different reasons. Only 1.4404 and 1.4571 is welded with 316lsi for quality reasons. But non critical(low pressure low acid and low temperature ) does not matter . I do not know the rules of the wps in your country , but ask an oldtimer because they say the same thing . Do not take this personal , but nothing is black and white even if it seems or written that way .Even the weld engineers do not mind if you remelt the tie-ins from the inside because it does not lower the quality . I hope that it helps to make you understand. Sorry for my bad english . Have a nice day

      I agree with you.304l material must use 308l filer metal too keep feretic namber (FN) at the rignt level 10% do not take hot cracks .I propose to change the diamiter of metal filer. go to 1mm not 1.6 becuse we have 2mm thikness material to keep the heat input low,Change to 1,6 mm tungsten and grind 45 degree(dicrease the amber or change the travel speed faster)and finaly do not take exces weld metal inside of the pipe becuse the gravity

    I really appreciate an honest look at tig welding. While I do appreciate those super pretty IG welds, it's nice to see this too.

    I am amazed by your mobility while welding.I often slide off the pipe if I move too much with the way you move. nice work

    Getting on well with that now👍👌
    Still want to use your airfed for stainless, the ozone formed will give you some proper headaches if you're doing a lot.
    With your tie ins, just go 3/4" past where youre tying into and it will blend in nicely on the inside 👍

    You talk about how you get paid by each weld/pipe. Could you do a break down of how that works. Love the videos. Keep up the great work

    One suggestion, I usually cut in half tig wire, easier to manage, wire is not flopping around

    Looks mint. I find it easier also to get a really nice consistent bead with lay wire but find I prefer dipping the wire method as I find I get more filler into the weld and end up with a more convex cap. Can sometimes get a flat cap with lay wire. Just what I tend to find.

    • @samjones6342
      @samjones6342 2 роки тому

      I agree. Dipping looks way better, that laywire looks like shit on the outside.

    • @kf8575
      @kf8575 2 роки тому

      I usually use both. Dipping and freehand for the root as i find it gives mich better control, then walk it with laywire for the fill and cap.

    No purge for tacks can you explain this. ..please. I am wondering about contaminant on the inside of pipe at the region of the tacks .....p.s. nice root

    • @kf8575
      @kf8575 2 роки тому

      Theyre only part penetrated tacks by the look of it therefore will only warm up the inside a bit and discolour it a bit, rather than it sugaring
