    There are lot of welding videos on youtube, but i enjoy watching yours. Because you mention exatly all the neccesary parts of the welding proces like: how you feed the wire in to the root, angles of the wire trough the gap, keeping the root consistent, feather grinding on the tacks and every stop.....and everything else important to not screw up. I'm about to go to my first test and i fond your videos very valuable and helpful. Thanks for sharing 🙏

      Best advice I got for my tig root test was not to have a tack at 6 on the bottom, to push that 6 tack back almost an inch to your weak side, so you can do more with your dominate hand on the bottom.
      How did your test go?

    Nice. I have never beem able to make that back feeding method work very good for me tho. I always end up falling through and boogerin' it up. But my question is how is he watching this as he's puttong hisnroot in? Through the top down? Where you would have to feel for how you're working your cup? Or from tye botton whereas you cant really see what your filler rod hand is doing? I always tried doing this by watching my cup and it always inevitably falls through. uggghh!! I envy these guys who can backfeed well! 😩

    Very good video . I have a question , I am doing 5G schedule 80 6inch pipe with a 3/16 gap 105 amps 1/8 wire , on my 6 and 3 o clock my puddle gets build up and I can’t go up , do you have a tip ?

    • @nathanielclause2588
      @nathanielclause2588 Рік тому +2

      @@lalo2720 what I would do and it might help might not, but put your wire more on the outside of the bevel. I do about 70/30 inside/outside on the bottom, then once I get to about 8/4 o clock I start bringing that wire towards the outside of the bevel the higher I go. Gravity is gonna pull it in. Hope that makes sense and helps. You don’t have to push feeding like that, just enough to keep the puddle fed.

      I think what you might be referring too is called the oxidisation on the inside surface of the root. Thats just atmosphere reacting too the weld pool on the inside. The only way to stop it is to purge the pipe completely. But with that much penetration on the root, there is usually no need.
