Great tips. Glad to see someone still supporting the Smpltrek. I love mine.
Thank you! And I'm glad to hear that; I was worried that maybe no one would care about it anymore, especially now that the Lofi-12 XT is out and getting most of the attention from people interested in Sonicware stuff.
Smpltrek is my fav piece of gear, super underrated.
Sorry, live commenting, those looping tricks are awesome
@@dylangamezcitron1495 thank you! And yeah, it was one of my favorites too. Unfortunately, shortly after I recorded this video, I dropped it, and now the inputs are broken 😢
Great tricks! Very inspiring! Will try them out!
Thank you! Glad to hear that!
The fade-out-delay-trick is really cool. Thanks for supporting the smpltrek
Glad you thought so! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for this! It is really a great device. Love the frippertronics tip, all interesting.
If they would implment midi mute from the mixer screen it could be my performance brain, still love it as is, but looking forward to the next update.
For drones I tweak the attack/release and sometimes duplicate the track and shrink it slightly for best overlap.
Thank you! Yeah, the midi mute thing seems like it would be easy to implement, and I’ve seen others ask for it, so hopefully it will happen. And great idea with the overlapping drone duplication trick!
Oh man thanks so much. I was looking for some fresh ideas and this, this will do pig. (Not to be taken personally! :) Great stuff man, It softens the waiting / flase hopes for more updates. Thanks so much.
Haha you're welcome (I'm assuming that's a Babe the pig reference?). I know they are planning to do another update at some point, but no idea when...
😃 genius! tape loop trick is awesome
Glad you thought so!
Seems like an amazing in the field sampler as opposed to a studio tool which can be really handy
I use it primarily as a song sketchpad, and I think it's good for recording demos-I imagine especially if you're traveling (but I don't much of that, so I can only imagine...)
Thanks for not doing any intro! Straight to the point is the way forward imo.
This is great stuff.
Evening Star
No Pussyfooting
two albums worth checking out
by Robert Fripp and Brian Eno
Thank you! And yes, they made some really cool, innovative, pioneering music!
My son once jokingly told me "You're too old to like music this cool."
But there was also cool music back when I was young, like Fripp and Eno's.
@@RobG1729 eh, I'm not sure music has gotten any cooler since the late 60s and early to mid 70s. If anything, the opposite. Those were peak years in my book, especially in rock.
My son went with his parents to see Gotan Project one night and Talvin Singh the next night. That's what prompted his remark.
However, I agree there was more cool music decades ago.
Omg, looks like a great piece of gear but I would be incapable of reading this screen at my age !
Yeah, the screen is small. Nintendo used to make a big magnifying glass accessory for the Game Boy. Somebody should make one for the SmplTrek.
Isn't it like a bad automation curve with only one way to go. So we could try to make some dub steppy shit if it?
I’m not sure what you mean 🤔
