Planning to put one in an early 90s dakota 4x4. I need a fuel efficient all weather vehicle because I do deliveries. I am obsessed with dakotas, and finding out I can do this so easily...I was instantly sold.
@TDISwaps yeah I figured that out just within the last few hours. Changed the plan to finding an ax15 dakota. Swapping in a jeep ax15 for the different bellhousing and input. Then I can swap the tdi in
Awesome video! No telling how much help you just gave the swap community! *PLEASE* do a CJAA wiring video! I've started getting parts for my Gen 2.5 Monterl swap!
Nice! One thing that helped me was figuring out how to de-pin the master ECU connector (seems it can be different even in the same EDC family) moving an unused signal like air conditioning over to where the clutch pin is (granted you have a tune to switch from auto to manual EDC 16 in the case of BHW to utilize the clutch for cruise control).
@@TDISwaps Yeah probably an extracurricular for most just starting out. If you do head down that road be careful, the de-pinning how-to is scarce and the videos that do show how always have a few comments asking where to buy new crimped wire due to them getting destroyed with lack of patience lol.
Will this same setup work for edc15? Looking to swap an awx engine code into a pajero 2, and being in europe doesnt make this easier since there are so many different engine codes than back in the states...
Hi friend, I'm a fan of your videos, I made a 1.9 TDI project in a Jeep Liberty, I tried to make my harness but I'm missing some components, could you help me with the diagram? thank you.
I'm looking to swap a tdi into my old Datsun pickup. I've been leaning toward an ALH but the bike insee the more the BEW seems like a great option as well. If you had your pick, what would take?
It's a tough call, bew is stronger but has more maintenance, ALH is more dependable, but weaker bottom end, I definitely don't like that fuel leaks on the PDs go right into the oil without you knowing. I usually just base it off price and availability at the end of the day
@@TDISwaps thanks for the info. Yeah I see way more BEWs and BHWs for sale than ALH but I've seen those ALH with 500,000 miles. I'll probably end up with a BEW based on availability. You've made me confident the wiring isn't that hard. Just salvage as much of the harvest as I can.
@@thisislargemouth5566alh head on a bhw bottom end. Have the best of both worlds. Not too much extra to do for it to work and lots of write ups on this hybrid
I have a BRM and on my wiring diagram I am seeing a data link interface is that something that is there or do I just need the data link wires thank you sir you’ve been a lot of help
I get all my connectors from Ali Express. And my tuning all comes from TekMekTronics. I will be getting setup to offer swap delete tuning in the next few months.
Just taking the plunge into this project, thank you for your video. Maybe a dumb question but after you’re deleting things you don’t want in the harness does someone have to reprogram the ecu? Can this be done on VCDS?
The ECU will need the security immobilizer disabled before this type of harness will work, while that's being done a performance tune with delete is easy to add on, that's all usually done mailing it to a tuner.
Thank you very much for the reply, I’ll continue to watch your wiring videos. My swap is for a boat so I’m looking to eliminate as much as possible and then re wire using the connectors
@Speedy2222 yeah all you need is the ECU to run the engine once the immobilizer is disabled but it has to be bench flashed to disable it so you'd have to mail the ECU into somewhere like me or a tuner.
@@TDISwaps Thank you for your very kind offer. My wife just told me that she has a Facebook account that she hasn't used in a couple years, so I had her apply to join the group. Now we're waiting for the mods to approve her.
So I’m trying to rewire my engine bay I’m building a new dash in my Jetta to be a center seating position with a wrap around dash kinda. I’ll have plenty of room in the new dash and, floor cubbies on the sides to relocate everything.
@@TDISwaps yeah, I might be needing some help possibly with some questions here and there. So I’m cutting the floors and tying the front subframe to the rear trailing arms and strut towers. Then building storage bins in the floor all the way up to the driver seat.
Well I am usually making these looms using the TDIs wiring like the original BKDs loom. And I'm also always making them standalone like to run without hooking to a factory ve cluster, just universal gauges
@leonwilliams2412 ya that would just take seeing what that cluster wants for inputs, but the vw coolant sensor is a weird resistance that can be hard to match, as well as it not even looking at oil pressure so a lot of it is best using your own sensors anyways
Hi, I went to Facebook and I see there's 2 different TDI swap groups. Can you steer me in the direction of where to find those four pages of schematics. Thanks for the video great job! Ross
