Having watched the making of Sacrament several times, you can see that Chris was the toxic one. The guy is an amazing drummer, probably one of my favorites, but you can clearly see that every time that he was around there was negativity.

One of the best American metal drummers out there. He did his time. He did his part. Just because he's not in the band, doesn't mean the old Lamb music is gone. Let him live his life.

People in the comments section saying Chris was the toxic one are missing the point. Toxic relationships often work both directions. It's not that either camp was "toxic therefore bad", but rather they were a bad match for each other and both deserve the best possible outcome which, in this case, means separate. When someone says a situation is toxic it shouldn't be taken as an objective observation of the other parties, but rather a statement of the experience of the observer. Think of it like this. If you have a crazy ex that means you're also someone's crazy ex. It's not that you're a bad person, it's that that relationship was bad for both of you.

Lamb of God had a few good albums than on to the same old repetitive sound so I'm happy for him trying something different. A musician shouldn't listen to the fans. The fans listen to the musician. Weather you like it or not that's life!

People stating that Chris was toxic during Sacrament: you probably never been in a band. The dude just stood his ground by saying that he wanted to make fast and heavy music. Randy literally never showed up while they were writing the instrumentals and Chris was the toxic one. Right.
I'm not saying that Chris is immune of all guilt, but for fuck's sake.
Following everyone's thought here in the comments, I can say that Mark Morton was the toxic one, trying to bring outside elements into Lamb of God, while Chris and Willie were trying to do what they did their whole lives - heavy and fast music.
My point is: none of y'all know what actually was going on, but all of you are super fast on coming here, calling Chris "the toxic one" in the band.
    Grow up, people.

@@zeal0tseven57 my guy, read my comment again. I didn't say Chris is immune of all guilt. I know very well that he was very vocal about Mark's input, sometimes way too vocal about it. But the fact is: that's what being in a band is. Not all the time, but sometimes. The creative process is filled with "I don't like that song" "Try another drum beat" "That riff doesn't sound good"
All I'm saying is that is unfair to blame Chris for all that, when there are 5 members in the band - many of whom were also "toxic"

And when you look at interviews, I just watched one with Mark and Randy, Mark was saying that having Randy on set while they were recording helped make the album and it was kick ass. Really makes you wish Randy was around during recording for their earlier albums. I'm only about 10 minutes into that documentary or whatever you want to call it, none of us except those handful(s) of people were ever in the band, so it's not our place to say who was the most toxic. I'll keep your comment in mind as I watch the Making of Sacrament though
