The 3.0.5 Update “Completes Me”. Super amazing and powerful now. So glad I never gave up on it. Great Job Akai!
I think AKAI FORCE sales are going to skyrocket. Now it has a lot of value. For what AKAI FORCE can do now it has an incredible price!
I'm sold
The force is a beast
Thanks, it was def worth the wait !!!
OH YEAH HOMIE GLAD YOU DID THIS INFO VIDEO FOR THE AKAI FORCE "LAZY CHOP" THE SAMPLING FEATURES ON HERE WERE NOT GOOD BUT NOW!!!! I GOT TO GO GET MY UP DATE TO USE THE NEW FEATURE!! THANKS SO MUCH!!!!
Very nice update 👌 great video! 👊 looking forward to what the next MPC update might look like
We shall see. Thanks for the comment. 👊
@@MatthewStratton I bet it will be called 'forge' or a variation. I am sticking with this for a while at any rate.
Great video Matthew. I love how you have progressed since I've been watching your shows
so helpful, thank you
Very nice. Quick way to chop long samples. And a way which can provide experiment with different slices before making programs from slices. Nice review! Hope it will come to the rest of mpc line.
Legendary! Thanks brother
Best explanation of chopping on Force. Thanks!
You're welcome!
this is so rad, awesome video Matthew!
Thank you!
Oh, Wow! AKAI is a force to reckon with! Great video and awesome content! Keep up the great work!
Really happy that Akai Pro is listening to it's users. Thanks for watching the video and thanks for the feedback!
Finally ive been waiting forever for this great video Matthew. Was so excited to see this in my email this morn
Right? Good stuff.
Great Vid the Force is a Beast
looks a fantastic update, nice vid.
Akai Pro have update a lot in this update. Much needed.
always love your clear expalnation bro...
Thank you so much 😀
Hey Matthew, your explainer video is great. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
My pleasure!
Thanks Matt! Great Demo!
Appreciate you!
Dope brother!
Thanks man! Good hearing from you.
I learned so much in this video. Thanks dude!
Glad to hear it!
I love this unit. Nice review!
Good to see it get improved.
Good review bro, and I'm really hoping the MPC gets one soon!🙏🏾✊🏾
Excellent tutorial. Thank you
You’re welcome
As usual great video and great info.....
Thanks for watching
Be nice to see you explore and edit in the new linear arranger layout 👍
A video w the multi midi function would be pretty awesome too
Thanks for doing these videos!
nice one MS
If you had a full AKAI Force course I would definitely buy it (along with many others that need to find scattered videos around the web). And I think that AKAI is pretty mature and stable now, so it is a good time for a Force course.
I'm shocked they followed through with this update and listened to owners of the device. I think this makes the Force extremely valuable now.
At one point I read in a forum that this wouldn't ever happen. It was smart that they added this, and if it had been there from the beginning they would have sold a lot more units. This and the arranger mode.
@@MatthewStratton I agree. Now I bet Forces will be flying off shelves.
YES IT MAKES IT EXTREMELY VALUABLE NOW!!!!
Hi Mathew, Nice video. stay healthy stay safe.
Appreciate you. You do the same.
Worth the wait right? I was so happy to wake up today and discover the update. My force needed it. Just got it back from repair. Now it’s better then ever!
Yes. I finally dusted off the Akai Force LOL. Going to explore this update a bit. Glad you got your Force up and running!
@@MatthewStratton I am happy I checked back on this Force. Almost went another direction I would seriously regret now; I remember the bad press for many many months.
Ahhh Matthew! Stop making me want things 😂
, a little complex to program for an old geezer like me but this is still an amazing tutorial to have available.. I hope I can sample aliasing from my old boards....=)
3:48 how to you fade in/out each starting and ending point? Great tutorial bye the way!
Thank your very much!! It was kind of confusing that in the Force OS context-dependet functions are implemented in different arbitrary ways (long click, double tap, access via menu and subfunction, shift). I'd never guesses I would need shift to assign the cops to a new program. (Because there is a assign button on screen that assigns to single pads only). Had to speed up the video to 2x to get quickly to the point. But hey - YT has that function so no need to speed up things in general, maybe a direct timelink to "demoing how it's done" would be nice :) Cheers!
👍🏻 👍🏻👍🏻
Hey thanks for the videos. Great content as always. Can you do a video on like importing loops from splice and mix a few together changing bpm pitch etc. then making a small jam because I have tried but it always seems to change my samples bpm and it don’t sound right. They were like 10 bpm apart. thanks. Stay safe.
Hi, very helpfull video. I wondered if it was possible to import any instrument sound and convert it into an instrument itself in the Akai Force, to be able to play it on the note pads. I mean, with a single sound, play a scale or chords. Thanks, by the way. All the best.
Hi MS.. wondering if you had a video on how on how to set up and directly record into CLIP record ( properties etc) count in , metronome etc.. ?
Thanks for the video ! So how to choose between the MPC and the Force now ? What about other machines like MC707, Maschine or Deluge ?
Thanks I was trying to do this the other day, the Small icon of a few buttons is.... Less than intuitive....
thank you so much m8!!! i was looking for this in the manual and other tuts but its SOOOOO unclear how to get the pads to a keygroup so you can save it...really, they should rename the 'Convert' option to 'Assign' or something...manual talks about assign to pad, assign to pad...or change the manual pffff thanks a thousand times man
I just wonder Why do people call it “lazy chop”? 😳 I still have to do the digging, sample and so... 🙈 Great video btw! 👊🏽❤️👊🏽
If you used the older mpcs then you will know why this is called lazy chop.
@@davidseaman7485 I still use my MPC2500... I started in the 2000 xl, and during my journey that included the 3000, 4000, 1000 and 5000 never heard that term... i used JJOs. I own other samplers to, but never heard that term. When I do my chops I enjoy the process. And I welcome this feat. Peace!
Try chopping on a mpc 2000 then it kicks in 😱
@@LMNT-ig2sj well go back to the 3000 and chop a drum break on it and compare that to this.
@@davidseaman7485 what’s your point? I just said that I never heard that term before. So whats your problem?
Can this be done live?
Considering purchasing an Akai stand alone for music production but not sure what the difference is between the Akai Force and Akai One?
is it possible to loop a part of a slice can't find anything about it ??
What if we have more than 16 slices? Are there other banks for more slices
Hi Matthew, just saw a question on Force group asking if there’s a MIDI footswitch that can start and stop recording on the Force. I think that’d be handy. Do you know any that would work? Thanks just got my Force yesterday , looked in the wee pamphlet and don’t see MIDI implementation chart so flying blind on that account. Thank you kindly.
Yo. Do you have a problem with the force freezing? I’ve had it for less than 12 hours and it’s frozen twice in the past hour. Even if I unplug it it won’t turn off. Very strange. Any tips?
The price just dropped too. Its 950 at GC. My question is i am looking to buy my first beat maker. Im stuck between the force mpc live 2 and the maschine plus. I am mostly looking to make house music reggaeton and hip hop beats. Which machine would you pros recommend. I appreciate all the help and responses.
Sorry if I'm so "directed": Akai force or Maschine (plus or mk3)?
Thanks for the video! Big question is: Has arranger mode been implemented?
Yes. Their is an arranger mode now.
@@MatthewStratton how about an arranger video? Would be useful right? Thanks
Question. Is it possible to load midi loops into the Force? The MPC can load midi but only per sequence. Since the Force is clip based does it operate differently?
What do you feel is the probability of the arrangement mode coming to the other MPC line?
I don't know if it will happen or not. But, I would imagine it is a thought somewhere in the developers minds.
Hey Matthew, can you find out how much memory we have with arranger? Is it taking massive memory away or is it not? We need to go under the hood of the low memory situation and find out what our arranger needs.
I just recorded a 7 minute arrangement with 6 synths and two drum kits, 30 clips in the matrix. Memory is 24%. It will vary widely depending on what samples are loaded up but suits my needs perfectly.
Would i be wrong to assume lazy chop is limited to 16 pads?🤔
Having just bought the mpc one over the force, which came down to functionality vs price, I find myself with a sore leg having spent a few hours kicking myself. Had the force been strong before with what this update gives, I would have spent the extra. I'm now considering letting go of the One, and my RC505, to pay for a force. What do ya reckon??
Yoda B1 keep the one bro, it’s a good unit .
@@9londoncalling yeah, don't worry it ain't going anywhere 🙂. just got slightly seduced by the extra sounds and synths on the force, but I got the one to trigger outboard as much as anything else. You're right, it's a great unit..
I think I found a bug, can anyone save the individual panning settings of the pad with a kit? After chopping, I setting my panning for each pad, save kit. When I load the Kit again all the panning is default to center. None of my pan settings saved with the kit?
Say Mr. Matthew, on my Akai-Force I'm trying to take an audio sample melody groove and time it to my 95bpm beat and for the life of me it won't slow down to 95bpm. I think the original is 120bpm, but nomatter what I push like set to beat it just won't work. **But hears the kicker -
Say on track one I created a 95bpm beat - then - I open track 2 w the audio sample from the list I wish to use>> I hit play and it PLAYS IN TIME SYNC! YAY! BUT... AS SOON AS I PUT THE SAMPLE AS A WAVE in track 2.. it won't load.. so I put in in track one as a .wav pad the sound is thier but... its way way up to 120bpm? Maan Mr. MATTHEW IM CONFUSED!?
a little help Sir if you be so kind. Sincerely, Angelo U.T.
So do you think Force is going to get the new MPC vocal software etc?
I would guess yes, but I don't know.
@@MatthewStratton I think that’s a really fare answer - thank you 😊
This might be a dumb question but can you chop across all 64 pads? I only ever see people chop a sample up on the first 16 and it’s making me wonder now if they’re just doing that by force of habit or if they’re limited.
Yes. You have 8 banks of 16 so you can technically have 128 slices.
@@MatthewStratton 8 banks of 16? So I can’t have 64 chops (4 banks) across all the pads at the same time?
@@frilent1467 Yes. You can access up to 4 banks at a time.
Do you offer 1v1 sessions via Zoom or something for a fee? I have a very specific use case for my MPC One and need someone to help me understand how to use it the way I want. (Creat a sample, guitar loop over it via external pedal, create sounds and use in “notes mode”, etc) Let me know!
Hello. Send me an email to matthewcreating@gmail.com and we can discuss it.
VIDEO IDEA
☝️😔I can't find a Akai Force video that explains the piano roll. 😭
If someone could make a video on how to improve that piano roll workflow then that would be like a little UA-cam monopoly...I can't find anything substantial about the Akai Force piano roll.
MPC LIVE users want the ARRANGER MODE. NOW
LOL. I recommend you put in a proper feature request.
I wish knob mode was easier to change, or more intelligent about changing automatically. Holding down a button and picking an icon really gets me out of the groove. #akai #akaiforce
hey that is awesome but isnt it a bit costly at 950$
I guess. I paid $1500 for it so it depends on what you find valuable.
Not at all...I paid more. And I'd pay it again.
@@digitaldiezel5870 bro that cost around 1 lakh 50 thousand here in india
APOLLO'S DEN lol damn! That’s crazy!
@@digitaldiezel5870 yes 😭😭
