I really want to see you do a microheli MCPX BL2 video - I have done a full microheli/rakonheli bl2 build but can't figure out how to get the aluminum tail boom to work - obviously the tail motor wires need to be cut and then soldered after they've been fed through the boom, but the wires look to be uninsulated/solid? I'm going with the stock boom for now, but would love the look of the (probably less resilient but cool-looking) aluminum boom...
That is next! I’m just waiting on the kit to get here. I’m doing a three bladed build as well of course. I love my three bladed helicopters LOL yeah they are a solid copper wire which is makes it a little more tricky for soldering but I will definitely show how to do it! Yeah they might be less resilient but definitely cool looking!
@@westhobbiesrc8051 that's great - I'm done my build other than the tail assembly. I'll start with the extra stock tail, then try the aluminum assembly next...
Question where that tail boom inserts into the mount going into the main frame the boom stops at the insert , does is stop there ? Leaves little room if so. Or does it go past the insert ?
@@westhobbiesrc8051 keyed way? Sorry lol I just put boom in n slide it n it stops at the little insert. Stopping there leaves a little room which wasn’t sure if it shoud be in further
@@jtkeys7618 not necessarily a keyway but there is a notch in the boom and that little pen that it slides into to stop the boom from rotating in the boom block. Yes it goes and stops into that pan and there is a little gap for the wires to not be completely pinched off. Once you tighten the clamp down the boom will not move.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 ok. I’ve built this so many times first w/ MH frame. I just wasn’t sure where the gap is in the boom if that was supposed to pass that little insert in the mount ( confused cause it left little room . @@westhobbiesrc8051 my boom was bent little from that stock frame having to tighten down unbelievable so now it went over that insert correctly . Thx again
What do you think about the aluminum extended tail boom? I have upgraded motor. I’ve built & rebuilt my 230sv2 so many times. Really have me wanting to do this build it looks very sharp.
The extended boom is nice if you want to run longer main blades or if you want more tail Authority. The longer your tail boom Is the easier the tail work. I highly recommend the kit! I’ve built some “high end” heli kits that are no where near as nice as this!
@@westhobbiesrc8051 I’ll be keeping an eye out for maiden. I’m most likely goin to get this kit n try with extended boom n have 245cf blades. Wait for weeks, but will purchase thru your link. Appreciate your vids. Great job

@@cyberneticinterfacemodular3996 anything bigger then a nano will break in a crash, of course there are things you can to lessen by hitting throttle hold and low head speed and so on. But if you crash a 230 it’s going to break to some point. Boom will bend or blade grip or bend a feathering shaft and so on. So just because you think add just break in crash so does a stock heli. But for example this carbon frame will take a hell of a beating compared to the stock plastic. You won’t be breaking blade grips sure you could bend them but again I build for performance and no for crashing lol

All these add ons just break in a crash.
Everything breaks in a crash lol
