Update: I now cleanse my hair 2x per week, so my priorities are no longer trying to make a wash and go last. The Doux mousse def is one of my favorite products for a fluffy, romantic wash and go.
This definitely is the best wash and go I’ve ever seen. You should make a “do my hair with me video” where you barely make any cuts sit down and talk in the camera and show how long it really takes to do this. So the viewers can do their hair with you I’d love to watch that and I’m definitely subscribing ❤❤
I love your videos! I have tighter curls as well so seeing your process is really helpful. I also use UFD as a base but you’re making me realize I’m not using enough water. Your curls are beautiful, keep the videos coming please!
I was recommended your channel and I am glad I found it. I am currently watching all your recent wash and go videos. Your hair is so beautiful and so are you. New subscriber here!!!
I just used UFD with ICH (my fav combo) but I might try the Doux Mousse Def as a topper the next time. My hair with mousse only last 3-4 days which is okay since I wash my hair twice a week.
Your hair looks good. I've tried this combo before but it didn't define my curls as well as other products and I prefer a little more hold. I've heard that UFD & Ecoslay Jello Shot are a great combo and I've heard Moptop Custard is a great gel by itself (but it's a little pricey).
Thank you 😊 I appreciate the recommendations. I’ve heard really good things about the Ecoslay for sure. I love a good custard over anything. I’ll look into your suggestions ✨thanks
Girl I thumbs up you vids as soon as they start 😂 love them! I use this combo when I want something quick and easy though I find the mousse works better for me on hair that's not soaking wet. I put UFD all over my hair then add the mousse after, sometimes out of the shower. I don't add any more water once I put the base gel on and feel I get more longevity. The mousse just spreads easy for me and I don't need such small sections, plus it dries faster.
I’m so glad to see you commenting! I look for your name 🤣 that’s good to know. I find that when I put UFD all over my hair, it’s hard for me to add a topper because it’s hard to separate my curls while adding the topper. The curls are clumped from the base gel application already. I feel as if I’m ruining the longevity of my set when I add water after the base, but it’s become such a habit. Even my hairstylist told meI don’t need such small sections and water for the topper. I have to give the no water after the base gel application a try!
@@BrittanyMia I was going to say something similar in terms of water usage. More water or soaking wet hair can really reduce the efficiency of the mousse. Mousse/foams work well on damp hair.
I learned the hair way to not pair Doux with anything else. It says it on the bottle but I ignored it and paired it with UFD. I had super bad flaking. However, by itself, I loved The Doux mousse!
@@BrittanyMia of course! I love your content by the way. It’s only been a year since I’ve transitioned. I definitely have my moments when I get frustrated. Channels like these definitely help!
I have to shampoo twice and with sulfates I use to much gel and styling creams I just steam or sit under the dryer with a good moisturizing conditioner. I’ve never had issues
Thank you so so much for this video!!!! I used to use Uncle Funky Daughters religiously until the recent formula change 😩. This time around it doesn’t work well with my leave in conditioner. Has your routine or how you use this product changed at all since the formula change?!? Thank you so much again!!! ❤
You are so welcome! I actually don’t use this product that much anymore at all. I don’t get the volume that I want with it. I’m still tweaking to see how I can re-implement it back into my routine because I have a lot of it left. It also can be a little too moisturizing for my hair.
Love the joy you expressed in the video so refreshing to watch! You reminded me again of why I love foam wash n gos. I only wear them for 4 days because that's when my oily scalp starts to get irritated so its prefect for me since I wash often. Love the soft, flexible big hair for 4 full days and then get to reset and maintain big hair for days. The shine was impeccable I noticed immediately it gave more shine then other combos you have done. Totally understand why you didn't prefer it for a day 5 and I think your are right foams are necessarily meant to hold up for 7 days the same way a traditional gel would. I haven't been loving the crunchy gel wash n gos and want to take a break from twisout with foams ( The Doux (pronounced "Dew" like you said the first time)' Crazy Sexy Cool Mousse is the one I have been using). I am going to try the Kinky-Curly Combo again. I'm not sure but The Doux's Crazy Sexy Curl Mousse might have more of the hold you are desiring if you decide to try it. But otherwise I think it would perform similarly vs a more hard holding gel.
Yes, I remember talking about how we both wash our hair twice a week in an older video. Now that I’m looking for more hold to keep it at once a week, I may check out that other mousse. Let me know how the kinky-curly combo works out for ya.
@@angerleanhammond1143 You did not offend me! I remember you asking a similar question in prior videos. I Just wanted to emphasize that I don’t do anything else outside of wash and go’s right now is all 💕

Thanks for making those detailed video. I get what you were saying about the feel with this combo. For me by day 3 it was big and frizzy. It looks great for few day and after it's like I need to wash it. I'm still a bit struggling using UFD even tough I use a lot a water. I've use with I create hold but I still don't like it much. So I'm trying other combo.
Thanks for watching 👋🏾 What other base gel works well for you? UFD is my most reliable and affordable (since I use it so much). But I want to know your experience and results with another base styler.
I can’t stand ufd. I would use it like a leave in under another gel. Not enough hold. I tried it for a wash and go as a styler and it didn’t have enough hold and was super sticky while trying to diffuse my hair 😕
@@BrittanyMia Yes I see for me the UFD is not sold in store per say. I buy online from online blackowned store. It’s like 39$ so I’ve been looking for other options. L . Hey Brittany happy Tuesday, question for you. I noticed that you use the colortrak & revair hair clips. Do you have a preference of either or do they work exactly the same? I ordered a jumbo pack of the colortrak brand but I haven't used it yet. Just curious if one clip is better than the other.
@@BrittanyMia ty lady & I did use them last night and fell in love! I've never owned great clips b4 & thanks to u now I have some. I was able to apply the UF appropriately & the clips saved me more time applying the topper. I used both create hold on one side & the proceed with caution gel
Your hair looks amazing! I just used Curly Magic w/Nairobi mousse but I reversed the order (mousse then gel). Not bad, but a little too soft with good hold and definition if you know what I mean. Almost a wet look. I'll try again but with less UFD.
Ooooh, that’s interesting. I never thought of reversing the order. I do know what you mean; that sounds like it would be really, really soft. Now I’m interested to see what that would look like… I’ll give it a try! Thank you for your comment 💜
You could try deep conditioning before. I find that mousse can be really drying for my hair so now I only the deep condition, or cocktail with a deep conditioner, and a regular conditioner. You could also try a water-based Leavin under the curly magic for some extra moisture. I hope this helps 💕
You can also add a little hair oil if that helps? If it's dry on your strands just apply it oil on your hand and go throughout your hair, not taking cause it'll mess up the curls but just massage it in
