      There was a Scammer a few years ago called a Police Officer telling her If u do not make Payment u will go to Jail , The officer said Oh I am going to Jail? The Guy said Yes by Dinner time tonight u will be arrested. So the Officer asks where to send the money and what to do after sending it The guy just wouldnt shut up ( Scammers dont understand the phrase U Have the right to be silent) The Guy tells the Officer I am from the IRS , That was the wrong move because the Scammer not only steals money he pretends to be from The IRS, do u think the Feds will ever find him since the Police Officer reported the guy to the FBI and to the real IRS? Right now hes probably still scamming people

      @@kellyberry No, the FBI, CIA or any other agency won't do anything about it. How do I know? Because these scams have been around since 2005 or so. I am talking about these robo calls from India.
      In Canada, you are not allowed to report them unless you have been a victim of a scam. On the plus side, the Canadian government put ads for a while on TV. They were not too clear but at least it was something.
      You have to do it yourself. Let your family, coworkers, everyone know. Spread the word.

    I was 18 when I 1st encountered an email scammer. I was working for a very old MLM company (that alone should be where this story ends lol). One day, I got an email asking me about ordering over $10k in products. Being the "good little entrepreneur" I was, I asked if they wanted to sign up to sell since that much product would be a lot cheaper. It surprised me when they said no, then said something about how the check would be coming from one country, but they needed the products shipped to a different country. But, I believed there was no way someone would find little ole me to pick for a scam and told them to send me the check. When it arrived, I noticed the shipping label wasn't from the person or country I was looking for and the amount of the check was well over the amount for the order. I emailed back about the things I noticed and was told to send any overage to yet another address. It took me a long time to wrap my brain around it, and my epiphany came when I saw where the check itself was from- a little science center a few counties over. So I googled the center and talked with someone about the situation, they seemed baffled about it. My mom ended up calling the police (since I used her address for the shipment), which turned into a full FBI thing. I ended up keeping the scammer on the hook for quite some time before they realized I knew their scheme and quit emailing me.

I string them along and wait for their check. Then I contact the companies whose checking accounts are involved. They're grateful to learn they need to contact their banks about the fraud and the scammers have spent money FedEx Overnighting me a worthless piece of paper.

Sure, you might have the right to demand that your info is being deleted but 1. who says that the people who don't mind selling your personal information care about that, 2. are really going to delete your information and 3. those people most likely aren't even in a country that has that type of law. • @flandrescarlet506
      @flandrescarlet506 2 роки тому +5

      As soon as I heard that, I thought "Incogni must be a scam." You should never have to give a service limited power of attorney outside of legal situations that you are involved in, especially one that's entirely online. It also seems difficult to know exactly what Incogni might do with that limited power of attorney they have over you. They might use it only for their service, but who knows?

    • @flandrescarlet506
      @flandrescarlet506 2 роки тому +6

      Their terms of service is also fairly shady. They need a hell of a lot of info about you, including your full name and current address... and also say they cannot do any legal representation as they are not a legal firm. So they admit to that, but still want Power of Attorney? That's shady as all hell.

    • @Liz_ArdE

      I got sent a coupon for Incogni from Nord as part of a partnership and I thought it looked interesting but no way in hell am I giving power of attorney anyone who didn't make me, marry me, or come out of me no matter how limited it is. I understand why they ask for it, legally you are the only one who can request your information be taken out unless you designate a power of attorney. But really, I can't imagine the venn diagram of people who care so much about their personal data not being sold to pay for it and the people who would not mind giving power of attorney to a website is very large.
