Peter Griffin just helped me disassemble my dashboard! Thanks, richpin!
PS
This is what part of the alphabet would look like if Q and R were eliminated.
I completely agree with what another poster said: this is probably the most helpful, well made dash access and stereo removal tutorial I've ever seen. Thank you so much!
Probably the most helpful and we'll made stereo video I have ever seen. Great job man and thank you.
Bryan Burns Thank for the kind words.
I'm surprised one isn't required to remove the engine as well. Engineer/designers should be required to spend time repairing the crap they make before putting it into manufacture.
Didn't have a clue till I watched this . Thanks !
This video was a big help for me. I was intimidated to do this after realizing how much trouble it would be but your video made it very easy. Thanks man
Has anybody ever told you that you sound like Peter Griffin?
+Keith White A few....lol
Keith White hes clearly from Boston
🤣🤣🤣....ahaaa wtf dogg lol..i cant stop rollin lmao
Thank you for this video!!!! I just put in my new Kenwood and it was a breeze thanks to this video! There was one extra screw in the bottom left of the long dash panel in my 2003 but otherwise identical!. First radio I have ever put in , thanks again!
Very Very well done video. Precise, clear and "picture" perfect.
Thank you for posting the video! It was really helpful for me getting the ignition switch out
Very helpful, and far easier than I imagined!! Thank you!
Thank you very much for the video Rich! I needed to know how to get that front cover off to replace my cluster.
This was a breeze thanks to you my brother!! Cudos!
Thank you for posting this vid!! You saved me over $200 for installation!
That's why they put the bench seat in this Impala. So you can slide all over the place when removing the radio. No console hump in the middle to slow you down. :)
Thank you for the video very straight forward
Thanks for the video! Very helpful!
Great Job, thanks much. I think he sounds like Raymond Ramano!
Thanks!! This video helped me do my own install, while retaining all of my chimes and notifications. I was also able to install my climate controls replacement at the same time. Music and air in one fix!!!
Arthur L. Griffith Oh yeah, 2004 Impala, no On-Star, no Bose. Be sure to get the radio interface adapter and the dash-kit. The smaller interface from the car is not needed if there is no amplifier and subs, yet. Get your radio adapter plug, too.
thanks for the help Peter griffin
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for posting this video. Very helpful
You saved me alot of money much love bro .. Although it would be nice if you could make a video showing how to reinstall with the retention module (adapter)
Fantastic! Thanks for the video!
Tks for taking some of your time big help for me Now I can fix my
I am very hesitant to replace my radio only because of the information panel. To reset the oil change and tire pressure setting would be tough to get around. Did you reinstall your radio in the trunk? I heard it is possible but never saw it done.
Thanks a lot. Mine was 2004 and had a screw on the large main panel to the left bottom of the steering wheel not mentioned in the video. This was very helpful thanks for putting this up here
I was also doing that and noticed that screw
Great video, very clear and thorough instructions 👍
Glad it was helpful!

I am glad i could help.

is there a way to remove the thumb dials used to control dual climate control on 08 impala? it seems like they somehow became mismatched. both on full cold and drivers side is only blowing around 58° I feel like my son screwed them up. everything else w/the ac was tested. full charge, everything else working. wanna get behind there to see if they are somehow mismatched. (all signs show they are. thanks
I was goin to replay my dash board now o know were to start from thanks for the video
Thank you sir for the instruction.
Great video. worked great 4 me.
great video Thank you
Only one thing to note is that if you are reprogramming a new key fob for keyless entry, the original factory radio is necessary if you want to do it yourself, as its through that radio the remote is programmed. (you can also take it somewhere to hook it to a computer to do it for you for a large fee)
But yes a very easy to understand video, very easy steps and detailed.
+bobthemackerel1 Thank you for the information.
Awesome video
Thanks sir for the video
Thank you so much!
Thank you for your work..
My pleasure!
So, what about the oil lights and low air pressure errors? I've heard you need an adapter to keep the old radio in your audio loop since the oil and air pressure readings is done by the radio, for some reason.
thank you very very helpful video i will do mine ...
Awsome!! thanks allot!!!
on certain parts of this video, your voice reminded me of Ray Barone's lol but great video! definitely helping me
ozzydakilla I was thinking that same thing. Slightly looks like Ray too!
GREAT VIDEO, I have to do this tomorrow to get the HVAC control unit out. Did that have the traction control , you forgot to mention disconnecting the traction control switch.
Thank you my friend i should have mentioned something about the floor shifter.
Are there any screws located below the AC/temp control unit which hold the dash panel in place? I have an '03 Impala LS with the console and I need to replace the HVAC controller.
the connectors that the radio was hooked up by, is that the wiring harness? because i got a new wiring harness so i can put a radio in but im not sure where the stock wiring harness is located. i dont want to take out any wiring before i know what im doing
great vid
Do you know what size is required for installing new radios? I can’t seem to find any information on it
Thank you I can now put in.My friends CD player A+ Video God bless
richpin im doing repairs on a 2002 impala, needs to have the rocker arm and lifter checked? have a family mechanic whos going to do repairs but was wondering if you would be able to post a video of what parts those are and where they are located. thanks!
He took apart that dash like a boss
Dan, can you install a radio in a 2014 LS ? I was told that it wasn't possible.
Excellent and informative video! Great job!
Just curious, though. I'm looking at replacing the radio in a friend's Impala because, even though the display works, there's no sound. Does this radio have an external amplifier or is it all self-contained?
Right on man thanks
How does this effect the resetting of the oil and tire pressure monitor?
Thank you
Thank you sir
So helpful thank you, how do I know what kind of adapter I need?
but that radio has a blinking light right? part of the alarm or something? i own a 2000 impala
Awesome video! I am wondering if there is security lock on the radios and how that would work with a custom radio.... Someone know?
Thank you still was very helpful, would you mind doing a how to do a tune up ?
Another great video, Rich. What are the chances of you having to replace the heater core on an MK3 VW? I hear those dashes are very difficult to remove.
How do you removed the footwell lights and dome lights!?
Does anyone know what the second plug behind the radio is for? The one that only has 2 wires?...
Nice video rich. These other cars are not as easy as the Saturn.
What was Chevy thinking when they put this dash together?
"make it a pain in the ass to replace anything under it."
ya there's some stuff they weren't thinking about spark plugs are a pain in the ass lmao
@@bruteman45 ehh. Not that hard. You just have to *disconnect everything and roll the whole engine forwards*
@@Xachremos well I've replaced them many times bud I know how to work on cars I'm not dumb I used to work for chevy
@@Xachremos but that's not true just gotta think outside the box think smarter than the engineers that built the car
What would you do if radio has a theft-deterrent system? Though I think having to deal with all of those panels is enough of a deterrent.
Is the any way to replace the lights inside the radio? Mine only lights up on the left side.
I am taking apart mine for a cluster repair... In your video the bottom plastic piece underneath the steering wheel just popped off without any trouble, I just broke a little black piece underneath by the trunk pop, how did yours come out so easily? Now I'm afraid to pull and break anything else, any suggestions?
That black plastic kick panel comes off pretty much that easy.
What is the best way to remove the wood grain trim off of the dash?
thanks
AWESOME
Nice !!!!
thanks big help
I wish all videos were like this.
holy fuck well i beter get started thanks for the video !!!
that whole piece taken off is a dash board?
Mr. Wichart fixes a car 😂😂😂 IM DA BOSS TOMMY! like if you get the reference
KOTH!!!
i have the same radio in my impala and i was wondering if this radio is compatible with subwoofers that are in my trunk.
I wish a had one handy i would check it out.
Can you swap that model with a factory one that has cd and cassette with no mods?
Thank you.
Important Update: Jan 1 2013 there will be a new richpin channel for all future videos.Richpin06a channel will be solely for all the Saturn lovers out there.Should be a lot of fun so stay tuned.
whats the black white wire and the green white wire for
Hi. I used ur video to replace my hvac control unit. i wanted to know what fuse would i need to replace for the blower to work to use the heat
Patrice F check the fuse box panels and check the manual for the right fuse
This is the 2000-2005 impala generation. Should be the same for any impalas of those years..
Like a boss
There are radios out there that need a security code put in when the power is cut off from the radio.
i have a 2004 chevy impala, which has pretty much the same dash in it , ive had problems with it going into a security mode and wont start. when it does this i have to go into the radio and reset it. If i put an aftermarket radio in my car and the security problem happens will i be able to fix that still?
No, I have an 04 as well. Same security issues. Aftermarket stereo will not fix it. I have to wait some times 30 minutes to get it to start. Currently searching for a factory stereo.
+Jeremy Knight ill trade my factory radio for an aftermarket one
Where can I get an adapter for the radio plugs?
