One other zynaptiq plugin called morph was used in the doom 2016 soundtrack to morph a guitar into a chainsaw :D just thought it would be an interesting fact to share 😅
Actually I would love to know what the hell was going in the mind of an artist morphing guitar to a fucking chainsaw, like man what u been on share it pls
It will be an overused sound but hopefully it won’t be tiring to hear. IMO I can listen to color bass way longer than usual Tearout, which I make. Atonality takes a toll on your soul.
I hope that people are going to be creative with that plugin and that they are not gonna simply put it on the sidechain group of every of their tracks.
I was recording my friends guitar and he had ONE STRING that wouldn’t stay in tune. I slapped pitchmap on the guitar and it isolated the out of tune note and fixed it. instantly one of my favorite plugins
You should check out Zynaptiq's video on Pitchmap. It's called "Creating Electronic Music Re-Mixes" and they do a great job demonstrating how it can turn a vocal loop into something entirely different 😀
Am I the only one who finds his videos really hard to follow? Like sometimes he explains what he's doing, sometimes he just says some words and throws in a bunch of cuts lol
One very practical use case I've found for this plugin is to tune loops to my main chord progression in the project (via live midi in pitchmap) to always sit well harmonically with the whole track.
@@rman4539 load a loop on an audio track, insert Pitchmap on it and select "live midi" option in pitchmap. put your chord progression on a midi track androute the midi to pitchmap on your audio track (in ableton you can use external instrument device). after this all your loops will be tuned to your chord progression. you could even make a bus and route all your loops and samples to that bus and insert pitchmap on the bus. for the best results, try to match your loops to your song harmony, first manually by transposing them, then add pitchmap on top of them for further tuning.
@@RmaNUA-cam Why would you put pitchmap on both the audio and instrument track? Couldn't you just put pitchmap on an instrument track and route it to the audio track from its side-chain feature? I use logic so it might be different than ableton.
I must confess, I've had this plugin collecting dust for yrs. This video just made me realize a new use for it. Thank u for your time sir. You're rock!
Speaking of insane plugins, the one that blew my mind the most was Sound Theory Gullfoss - an AI controlled equalizer that just makes anything sound better. Especially when adding some high end.
i work as a mixing and mastering engineer and 99% of times that i see gullfoss on a project i get scared. Everyone thinks that that plugin or this plugin make magic sound, and never its like that. If you have a shit record or bad sound, adding some high end, on gullfoss, _Mautodynamiceq, Pro-Q or what ever you want, what do you think that happens? Its better to use ears and knowledge, "automatic" corrective plugins are cancer.
all Zynaptyq plugins are like this, they are extremely underrated gems without proper marketing and hype, until someone showcases the raw power of them.
This is absolutely horrible. No musical skill or understanding of what the central components of what actually makes up real music. Crap. Learn how to play a musical instrument everybody. That’s how you make music.
The Key Transform section of the plugin isn't the most intuitive, as it doesn't work exactly how you'd think it would, I think it'd be nice if you added a section going in depth on that :)
This plugin is ancient but still has so much untapped potential. All there plugins are great for electronic/synth/sample based genres. Especially if youre experimental oriented. For example, you can run midi thru this plugin. It can be used like a rompler. All there plugins are like swiss army knives with hidden toothpicks people haven't found yet
Idk why this plug-in so expensive when I can do a similar sound with an proQ using linear phase mode and make the cords with those peaks I’m bringing the residence up
if you don't hear the difference between narrowly boosting a bunch of frequencies and shifting the frequencies of existing resonances of existing resonances, you will not be impressed by this argument, but anyway: the difference in price is based on this being an innovative algorithm and sound. i don't mean to gatekeep or anything, the video might have been too rushed to notice the difference, but you should try for yourself
Good video and thanks! I never fully understood how to use this plugin, so its been unused for months. From your video, I think this an on-the-fly pitch shifter with builtin autotuning? And its good to put at the end of the chain to fixup tuning?
6month later : Krystal Land-Sound resonator mapping shaper|Design by OVERSAMPLED (i really hope oversampled design & release more amazing plugin in the future)
Dude this plugin looks crazy! But Peter I came here to tell you; you are the reason I just got accepted to icon collective (music school in Los Angeles) without this channel I would never have learned so much, so quickly. My progress in music production is 90% your channel I swear. Keep up the great videos man, much love ❤️

I love the fact that VR showed how he used it for the Redline color bass vip and everybody fucking loves it now lmao
Fr and he’s talked about pitch map way before the album even came out but after that VIP ppl went crazy
This ^^^^ I thought the EXACT same thing when I saw this haha
Yea very true
It will be an overused sound but hopefully it won’t be tiring to hear. IMO I can listen to color bass way longer than usual Tearout, which I make. Atonality takes a toll on your soul.
He showed pitchmap a long time ago before that color bass vid

Mind if I make a video about this for my channel? gatta put my own spin on it! 9:48 wasunreal...
"THIS WILL BLOW YOUR MIND" in the thumbnail seemed clickbaity but holy shit it really did. I need this!!
Resonator Death Machine.
Rest in peace ableton resonator.
Your time making colour bass in the not lazy way was greatly appreaciated.

Kaleidoscope by 2CAudio is somewhat similar, even tho it's resonator, but the most elaborate one out of them all I promise you that much.
Sounds promising!
Kaleidoscope is better (for me) cause it can do microtonal but pitchmap is great if you only work in 12TET
@@baronvonbeandip Agree, pitch map is also faster to use. Also Ibprefer Kaleidoscope for sound design purposes.
