Last night I seen a post of a old man selling all his whole reloading room for $575 I got everything to start reloading including a table for everything 15 pounds of powder and I think almost 4k primers trigger pull gauge powder scales and a ton of 30cal and 7mm bullets and a bunch more
Thanks for the video brother! I've been there a time or two with the messing around and missing out on booolet slingers. I collect 375's and have a pretty cool story about a gunbroker find I picked up about 15 years ago. You've prompted me to do a video on it. Thanks again for all you do 👍
Weatherby took the Vanguards to a whole new level when they put out the Talon. I picked one up last summer and absolutely love it. The carbon fiber stock is solid as a rock and super light. 1/2 MOA and well balanced.
Had a Ruger Number One in .375 Ruger that I gave to a friend. It easily beat the H&H round with both the 300 gr. FMJ's and the Barnes monolithic solids... getting into the low 5,000 ft. lb. range in muzzle energies! The monolithic solids were à little faster but the FMJ's had a bit more penetration!
Used 300 Win not this version. Great find, and pretty powerful too! Nice distance and accuracy with that barrel. Though I am addicted to 45-70 wirh Black Butterfly 576grain. Barnes makes great stuff too.
Time to head to Tolliver's!! haha That's a gorgeous rifle WTW!! Can't wait to see that one at the range. Watch out for Heavy Metal, he'll be a wantin to one hand it....lol
I'm sitting here going, "Hey, that's a 6.5-300 Weatherby Mag!" and you just keep going down the "can you guess it" list, and I'm like... "Just say it already!!!" LOL! Quite a stout round! I bought a Weatherby Lazerguard in 308win back in 2015, and it is absolutely one of my go to boolot slingers! Not to mention, with the high gloss bluing and high gloss wooden stock with the engraved oak leaves, she's a looker too!!!
I bought one for my father when they very first came out and the gun was a $1,000. And the ammo was $100. A box do 5 boxes was $500. They now cost $140. For a box of ammo so unless you reload you getter be prepared 🤔😳
I've got this exact rifle I've had it probably 3 or 4 years it's absolutely awesome I topped it with a vortex diamondback 6-24x50 I believe and it's a tack driver I've tried the factory loaded 127 barnes LRX 130 swift scirroco and 140 grain hornady interlock and it shoot all three awesome the barnes and swift shoot exactly the same out of mine! I finally got all the stuff to reload for it which was tough here in canada large magnum primers are virtually impossible to get! But yeah hands down my favorite cartridge I've taken mule deer moose and a elk so far and the knock down power is insane for a 6.5 caliber! It's super cool to finally see a gun chanel like yours doing a video on this caliber there's virtually none on it! Hope to see you do some super cool testing with this gun id be curious to see how many paper plates it would go through just saying lol but also just want to say me and my buddies are huge fans of the chanel keep doing your thing your videos appeal to the average shooter and its awesome thanks
Love all the videos keep up the good work. I've always liked the 6.5 300 wby. I've got a custom built 6.5 300 rum on a nesika action. My main load is a 127gr LRX running 3,676. I absolutely love it and have zero regrets having it built. I'm hoping to get around 500-600 rounds before having to do a re-chamber, right now I'm right around 240 round mark. Like I said before keep up the great content.
Excellent rifle Adam! Can't wait to see the actual velocities of the factory loads that you got! Beautiful rifle and in your favorite color for the most part (green) as I recall! The Berger 156 grain will be interesting!
As soon as you pulled out the cartridge and I saw the long case and radiated shoulder and skinny long bullet I knew which cartridge it was. The 6.5x300 WBY Mag! It is in my top 3 Wby cartridges that I would like to own along with the 257 Wby Mag and the 338 WBY RPM.
Wow that's hypersonic screamer love to the bullet drop chart seems like a great long range mule deer elk rifle not so much a white tail at 40yds rifle still a huge score👍👍
On line I found an untouched M1879 Springfield Trapdoor Carbine 45/70 since it was rearsenaled in 1890 or later; at a local pawn store. Contacted the owner who explained they are only open 3 days a week as they have sold the store and the new owner takes over on April 1. I asked him to put it back and i'd buy it, he did just that. It's coming home with me.
The weatherby 6.5-300 is an amazing round!! I have one chambered in a vanguard badlands edition. I have a great load developed that is grouping under 3/8" at 100 yds. Luckily that one comes with a brake I am going to end up sending mine back to have it threaded to make it easier on my shoulder haha. Really looking forward to seeing how you end up liking it.
Me too... I found one at a pawn shop in Grass Valley CA for $200. It was a Ruger #1 Tropical 375 H&H. He had 2 boxes of shells I bought for $18 I believe and told him I'll be back for the Ruger. I figured after dinner I'm going to get, but during dinner the wife said no, no way. I still have those shells. That was around 1978-79. The last #1 Ruger 375 I saw was in Oklahoma City at a big gun shop, same one as in Grass Valley for $1,300. They were around $150 new when they came out, my uncle bought one that's how I knew about it. He had a trip planned for Kenya with his Win 458. I wanted to put a Leupold 1.5-5x scope on it, still kicking my butt 😡
You can just order one from anyone who makes them, it doesn’t have to be on the shelf to buy it. You can buy a normal rifle for the normal price exactly the spec you want it with just the click of your mouse.
Who Tee Who I have 2 Belgium made brownings. 30-06 auto 5 and another 12 gauge auto. As for missing out on that Browning, you know what Forest says stupid is stupid, does!😂
I'm anxious to see your groups. Mine does 3 shot groups all touching at 200 yards with Weatherby factory ammo consistently. The 4th shot always tends to be a flyer though. Sweet cartridge. Look forward to your videos.
I did the same thing with an Interarms Mark Ten Mauser in .375 H&H. I went home and researched the ammo...$96 a box was the cheapest I could find with plenty going for $120-$150. I held off and a few days went back and it was gone. it was a cool rifle but I couldn't find a reason on earth to get it lol!
I’ve got a Vanguard in the 6.5 x 300 shooting the Weatherby Swift Scirrocco 180 gr ammo & it is a tack driver . One of the most accurate rifles I own . Only fault is you do have to let the barrel cool down after 3 shots or so .
That is one over bore cartridge barrel burning cartridge! If you hold down the number of rounds you shoot through it you will have it for a while but if you shoot it like a regular bullet slinger your barrel will be toast! I might also add the 156 perfect for deer and bigger lighter bullets Antelope etc. the lighter bullets on deer tear the meat up but the heavier do not do as bad of a job on tearing up the meat!
You held the round up and my first guess was a .257 Weatherby, just from the shoulder radius. The 6.5/300 is a hot hot round. The Vangard is a sweet rifle too!
Had the opportunity many years ago to grab up a weatherby chambered in .30-378 and I didn’t do it. Kick myself in the ass when I think about it too. The ole girl was beautifully blued with a gorgeous checkered walnut stock. Don’t recall the price exactly but I do remember it was in the $500-$750 range
When you said 6.5, I already knew it was Weatherby by the curved (radiused) cartridge shoulder with the belted magnum. It is awesome. I have a stainless Vanguard in .270 Win
I had a Weatherby Vanguard in 257 wyb Only thing I didn’t like was the 2 stage trigger. I’m use to a single stage, but all in all it was a good trigger I just wasn’t a fan. But other than that it was a great rifle.
Congrats on a very cool new bing bang. Very nice choice. If you can try to get a Ruger No1 Tropical in .375H&H, .404Jeffrey or .416Rigby. I think the WTW Collection needs a Sauer.
Great rifle!!! Triggers are awesome!!! And, they group like a champ! This is a sub $1,200 dollar offering from Weatherby. I absolutely love my vanguard chambered in .243!!!
You know I have several MKV models and several Vanguards and to my surprise the Vanguards are just as accurate as the more expensive MKV models.I do have the High Country in 6.5 PRC, it is a very nice looking and shooting rifle, Nice choice.
A very nice rifle and an interesting caliber. Those bullets are cooking out of that barrel. I can't wait to see your future videos on it. I'm also curious about the recoil of the rifle. I'm also curious about the damage it does to a deer or possibly an elk.
You have greater tolerance for recoil than this old guy. However, I have fired the 156Gr Berger EOL from my 6.5 Creedmoor. My rifle shoots lights out with the Berger bullets. I hope you have the same results. Thanks for the Vanguard review.
As soon as I saw the belt I was hoping that it was a .264 Winchester Magnum. When I was a kid my dad had one that was a shooting SOB and it was one of the first guns that I ever shot I would really like to see Winchester bring it back. I bet it would be great with today's modern technology and powders.
Vanguard barreled actions are made under contract in Japan by Howa. Accurate and reliable. Love your channel and especially the song at the end. Keep it going brother.
If you like the 6.5x300 Weatherby you might want to try a .338x.378 Weatherby? Then you’d have a bullet slinger with excellent speed but the barrel will not last long if shot a lot. These cartridges were developed for hunting and shooting targets at very long distances compared to a regular bullet slinger! Enjoy oh did I mention they eat powder like a hungry wild hog.
I was fortunate enough to inherit a 375H&H and love, love, LOVE it! Mine is a Whitworth Express made by Zastava and imported by Interarms. I'd suggest you look into that or the Interarms Mark X equivalent. They can usually be had for a little more than a grand, and are a very well made Mauser 98-style magnum length CRF action in a timeless walnut and blued steel platform. About a month ago, I was able to squeeze a half MOA group out of mine at 100 yards using Barnes 300gr TSXs over IMR 4350. Side note - a few months ago I was just barely a few days late on a stainless and synthetic Browning A-bolt in 375H&H at a pawn shop in Tulsa for just over a grand.
I thought you were picking up 264 Win Mag since you were looking at it on the rack. I’ve got a Remington 700 CDL in 264 Win Mag and it is flat shooting. Hopefully one day you will get one.!
i got one 300wb x 6.5 i hurt my arm after i was done with all the rifle testing i got muzzle breaks & thread barrels I stick with 25-05 or less light bullets like 120 or less no muzzle break!
A .375 H&H is one I've been wanting but haven't been willing to spend the kind of money everyone wants. I used to be an FFL 01 and back when I was in Business, I found that a lot of People would come in and buy a Firearm and then couldn't find ammo. I told them I'd learned to make sure I had ammo for a Firearm before I bought it (Because a Rifle with no ammo is just a steel handled club and a pistol with no ammo is basically a Rock, LOL). So I'd found some .375 H&H ammo really cheap at Academy Sports and bought it. Now I'm "Needing" a .375 H&H Rifle. FWIW, that's a beautiful Rifle! I have several Vanguards that I bought at Walmart years ago (they were $406.00 out the door)and a couple of Mark V's.
I can hardly wait to see You sight this rifle in, then take it out and do some Long distance stuff . I was actually guessing it might be a Weatherby .338/378 , which would have been really cool to see , there don't seem to be an awful lot of video's about that cartridge and most searches I do end up showing .300/378 Weatherby which is still cool but not a .338. Thanks WTW catch You next time .
I was saying Weatherby! As the video was starting. What a cool gun/cartridge. Will decently help to reload with ammo cost. I think the .30/338 cal would be cool. Maybe a Lapua
I seen one of those Weatherby’s at a local gun shop and was worried about the pencil thin barrel not being accurate. I’m curious about what kind of accuracy you get with that one. Get some glass on it and show us whatnot can do.
I've been shooting a 130 gr 270wsm at 3300 fps for 20 years lol In a short action with a LOT less recoil and cheaper factory offerings too. I could probably push it to 3400, but that would be one spicy meatball :P Helluva great round, I hate seeing it becoming obsolete in the shadow of these newer rounds. Run the numbers in a ballistic app. 270wsm shows out against the 6.5 prc, 6.8 western and several others.
WHO-TEE that is a lot of recoil for this old man lol. I will say this, that is one fine looking rifle (even though I can't stand the look of muzzle brakes). Can't wait to see some shots. I thought it was kinda funny you were excited about the 156gr at 3050 when a 30-06 will push a 150gr at almost 3000. I know, I know: BC is king lol. I'm just too old and set in my ways to shoot heavy recoil rifles. Have fun. Just curious about the Browning 375.....was it an old school Browning Safari High Power with the mauser action? If it was, you missed out on a great rifle/cartridge. Start looking for a Pre64 Win Mod 70 in the same caliber. You won't regret it.
Who, you are going to like shooting that caliber, it is a fun accurate bullet. The recoil is not bad, I shoot mine without a brake, you are going to have alot of fun at the range. Gotta love Weatherby.
Last night I seen a post of a old man selling all his whole reloading room for $575 I got everything to start reloading including a table for everything 15 pounds of powder and I think almost 4k primers trigger pull gauge powder scales and a ton of 30cal and 7mm bullets and a bunch more

Wow what a deal!
That’s an absolute steal! Primers alone are going for $100 a thousand!

Every now and then though, we get to be that fortunate soul who stumbles into the incredible deal! Always a good day... but only in every way!
Weatherby took the Vanguards to a whole new level when they put out the Talon. I picked one up last summer and absolutely love it. The carbon fiber stock is solid as a rock and super light. 1/2 MOA and well balanced.
You should really get into some AR 15s
And if your not stuck on the h&h the 375 Ruger is available as well, same thing just a bit modernized. $1650 from Ruger.

My 6.5-300 Mark V with 127g Barnes has muzzle velocity of about 3600 fps
Really cool looking Bing bang dude love the green cammo stock
i got one 300wb x 6.5 i hurt my arm after i was done with all the rifle testing i got muzzle breaks & thread barrels I stick with 25-05 or less light bullets like 120 or less no muzzle break!
💪💪
Never seen that rifle , but when held the cartridge i new it was a Weatherby magnum of some sort? I wounder he traded it in ?, good looking rifle 😊
Magpro powder, and federal 215 match primers work really well with the 142 accubond long range bullets.
Good to know
@@WHOTEEWHO if Mason can’t get you Magpro powder. Kings in Columbia has some.
Bud's has a similar one for $800ish and the ammo is $80-85 per 20 rds
Great looking rifle- 6.5-300 weatherby was my second guess
I've never seen one of the Wetherbe 65/300 rifles not sure of the spelling
I picked up a vanguard 300wsm for about 450, and 6.5 prc never fired for 300 plus tax, had it marked as a used howa 1500
Awesome
Maybe someday you can do a feed on the .257 roberts.very versatile and acurate.
Holy Buckets! That a heckuva rig 💯💥💥💥‼️
6.5x300 wby was designed in the late 60's and won a Wimbledon match an old sierra load manual had 140's losted as going 3450 fps
Need to get yourself one of those new Savage bing bangs in 26 Nosler. Faster than a skinny dipper running for their clothes pile, lol
I was saying Weatherby! As the video was starting. What a cool gun/cartridge. Will decently help to reload with ammo cost.
I think the .30/338 cal would be cool. Maybe a Lapua
I was actually saying.30/338 when it started. 🤣🤣
30-338 win is essentially the 308 norma, 300 lapua was a thing a d a flop
I have a 30/338. Mauser brazilian action, douglas barrel, bishop stock. Super accurate. Great cartridge. I like the path less traveled.
A 150 to 170 grain (Lapua has some) will extend the killing range a lot.
Would love to see your reloading setup!!!
I seen one of those Weatherby’s at a local gun shop and was worried about the pencil thin barrel not being accurate. I’m curious about what kind of accuracy you get with that one. Get some glass on it and show us whatnot can do.
Stay tuned
Winchester safari model 70 375 H&H Magnum.
Nice score, Adam. Always informative 👍 💯🙏😎
Hey Peter
Funny how 6.5x300 traces back several steps to .375 H&H as parent case! 😁👍
The 6.5 is a great caliber but the ammo is a little spendy and hard on the barrels! I have had severs bring a collector
Love my Weatherby Vanguard, same as yours but 6.6 PRC
Awesome
in the boollat slinger show was that the Halo theme song you hummed ??
I've been shooting a 130 gr 270wsm at 3300 fps for 20 years lol In a short action with a LOT less recoil and cheaper factory offerings too. I could probably push it to 3400, but that would be one spicy meatball :P Helluva great round, I hate seeing it becoming obsolete in the shadow of these newer rounds. Run the numbers in a ballistic app. 270wsm shows out against the 6.5 prc, 6.8 western and several others.
Barrel burner right there
6.5 cm burns less powder in the chamber will hold up way longer then the 6.5 300
Looks like a 1/2” drive 1/4” socket! 😂🙌🏻👍🏻
Wow! Talk about a serious package deal!
Ahh the 6.5 throat eroder, but nice rifle
Great info. Thanks.
Thanks for watching
Just bought a Stribog sp9a3
Awesome
I remember a guy having 6.5-300 WTB back in the 90's, probably a wildcat. I remember him saying the reloading dies could only be sold in the USA!
Wow
Who, you are going to like shooting that caliber, it is a fun accurate bullet. The recoil is not bad, I shoot mine without a brake, you are going to have alot of fun at the range. Gotta love Weatherby.
I got rid of my 375 HH . i got one 6-5-300 case about 40 years a go it was a wild cat then.
I’m gonna try to get by Toliver’s this Saturday, I’ll be coming from 6 hours away, hopefully they are open all day on Saturdays
8:30-4:30 Saturdays. Tell em I said hey
The 22tcm would leave that 6.5 ×300 in the dirt.its a pistol cartridge. Good fead on rifle cartridges. Good job.
