- Carlos Sainz has been an incredible servant to Ferrari. Despite being regarded as second best to Charles Leclerc by the team while he has been there, he has matched the Monegasque’s performances time and time again. But when Lewis Hamilton is an option, it’s hard to say no and so the Scudderia will say goodbye to the Spanish driver at the end of the season. An F1 driver of Carlos Sainz’s undeniable quality should have no problem finding a seat for next year at a top team but despite the most fluid driver market in recent memory, nothing seems to be coming together for him. And so, a shock candidate has come forward as the new favourite to sign him for next season, and no, it isn’t Audi. So, let’s check it out.

Adrian Newey and Carlos Sainz at Williams would be a great underdog story coming to life.
I hope God is listening.
Newey would be coming full circle and Sianz could break this almost Masa arc he is going through.

@@tylermishtawy8153 well if the Lleyton House March team came back it would be full circle, Wiliams was the first team Newey had success with but Ivan Capelli came within a whisker of winning the 1990 French GP in the March designed by Newey.

I literally just posted this reply so a comment on another video of the same subject - "Vowles is rebuilding Williams from the ground up, Inside and out. Bottas is much more likely to take Seargents seat than Sainz (who's future is Audi bound). bottas will be the better pick as he'll be happy to sit at the back and help Vowles and Albon rebuild the Williams! Honestly, I can see Williams being back in the running by 2030"

I can't see Sainz taking a Williams offer, unless there is absolutely no other option. He doesn't want to go to Audi because he will have to wait for points/wins. And Williams are possibly an even longer project than Audi.
Newey is on his way, think about it from his previous experiences and maybe Symonds to boot?

With Newey's departure from RBR, Mercedes drop from the top, Aston Martin underperforming, Ferrari forgetting they're the clown show, and Alpine being Alpine while no one knows about Audi, it's even harder for a driver to pick a good team with the new regs plus a year with the old regs. Top teams attract top drivers, but I wouldn't be confident picking next year's top teams. This time last year I'd written off McLaren again but once they got rid of James Key (like Haas showing Steiner the door)... Key is now at Sauber to be Audi and aren't they doing well...
As an aside, remember how at the start of the year 8 teams were complaining that VCARB were going to be a second Newey/RBR/unbeatable team? That went very quiet very quickly...
Carlos at Williams 1 + Newey at Williams 2 = Wins. I believe this scenario is possible. James' vision and determination is bringing the Williams dream to life ....
Ferrari is going to regret their decision…..Sainz deserves way better, the disrespect towards Sainz is unacceptable.

I didn't hear anythinhg that acutally consitutes as " signing ". Just speculation.
I hate to say it but Williams prospects look better than Mercedes. I think Williams would be the better choice. It’s a shame that Red Bull wouldn’t pick him up. He would be a hell of a lot better driver than Perez.

Seinz is top tier along with Max, Lando, Leclerc. Second tier...Alonso, Lewis, Russell and Piastri. If Williams were to snag Carlos, that would be a steal! And yes...I do think Lewis has slipped a notch.
With Perez's performance this past weekend (Monaco) I'd love to see Sainz in that second Red Bull, though I find it highly unlikely. He'd be a better choice for Mercedes than Antonelli (sorry, not sorry but I'm tired of watching F1 use up these young drivers and discard them! Not many can be Max Verstappens!) I'm very excited for the Audi prospect and would love to see Williams back at the front of the sport, as they were when I first started watching F1. Any way you look at it, I'd like to see Carlos get a little more respect than he has been.
Funny that because he said in an interview today he wint be rushing into anything znd said williams is not an option for him

Correction, Sainz isnt in a rush. He is Apparently taking his sweet time while Audi is pushing for a response with in the month. Sainz is going to screw himself by having to settle

Does Sainz really think Williams will be better than Audi.
Audi knows what they're going to be doing even if it takes a while to get going.
Williams is underfunded and will take ages to get close to the front
williams should just breach the budget cap this year and next year by spending on there factory and stuff if its good enough for redbull to cheat everyone else should just cheat to catch up

Sainz is going to end up in back of the grid. Williams at least has a plan, stability and now they have the proper funding to go racing.
Trouble with Sainz is he has become a mobile steward, always on the radio calling for penalty's against other drivers, yes others like Russell do the same but Carlos is by far the worst, do your job and leave the whining behind
Honestly, I’m over Carlos Sainz. Look… With the exception of McLaren, his seat was always given to someone else and Carlos was unceremoniously bumped. The common denominator has always been Carlos Sainz. Those with the access to all the data consistently choose someone else over Carlos. There has to be a reason for that, yeah?
