    You absolutely OWN your style, and it’s so refreshing to watch! Most other UA-camrs seem to style the exact same way as each other, and I find their choices boring and predictable. You always have the most unique and gorgeous designs! We need a style named after you

    I absolutely love that you're trying to salvage and use as much Used as you can. Sometimes house building and design gets to be so wasteful and to see someone else trying to bring a second life to things makes me so incredibly happy.

    I love your design, but if I were you I would consider having a closed bedroom in one cottage. If you ever have guests with a baby, they can let the baby sleep in the bedroom and be in the living room without disturbing that much. A wall with double sliding doors could be open most of the time and would be very visually open. There are also foldable doors. It's just a suggestion, of course 😅

  • @ConnorOBrien
    @ConnorOBrien 3 роки тому +1

    It could be fun to put nice pocket doors that could be used to section off the bedroom (if the front doors weren’t centered). That way, it’s very open, but if one guest wants to go to bed early or something, they could close it off. Or if the couch/sofa is a sleeper, then they could fit 3 or 4 people in one cabin. That way, people with kids could come stay and the parent(s) could still have some privacy.

    The fun part- designing the cottages! Definitely go with cement siding- we did and love the no maintenance aspect. Our house was built for us too and picking tile and counters and flooring and paint was a challenge but so much fun too! Remember if it's nice it's because Mom picked it out was priceless!!! She is so cool!!! 🥰😊

    • @XOMaCenna

    • @amyfretz3387

      We had wood siding on our home and maintenance was costly. You need to fill any cracks that happen over time. We had a woodpecker that would peck at the knots on one side of the house so those would need filled, and it was easier for bugs particularly ants to get in even with a professional pest control company spraying on a schedule than another type of siding, plus mice moved in to the wall space. According to pest control mice can get in through a hole as small as a pencil. We bought the house with the wood siding and it was estimated around $40,000 to change to another kind of siding.

    Metal roofs are expensive but the cost pays for itself when you realized how long they last. The detail in the door hardware is priceless, the craftsmanship is incredible no machine did that. I'm in my element shopping with you. Nothing today could compare with this unless it's so overpriced and unattainable.n I watched a video on you tube of someone that did the vertical tiles in the bathroom and "of my god" it was beautiful. Loved this video. I don't know how to answer what I'm made of but I wish I had purchased an older house now.

    I find it infinitely interesting how everything is so different about the construction of these cottages than it is in Europe. Here a cottage is made of brick and the exterior is plastered and painted, only the roof is a wooden structure that’s covered in clay tiles, the house sits on a concrete base and fire places are luxury features, no regular home has them. Even drywalls are usually put on a mental structure rather than a wooden one. Anyway, great job on the plans and project management, can’t wait to see the results!!! 🤩

    Love to see old things used again... Bring them back to life with all the special textures and details. The doors you bought are very common in my country. I am from Malta and we have those kind of doors in our town houses. Unfortunately a lot of people don't appreciate old house characteristics in my country and a lot of beautiful old big housrs are being destroyed to make space for modern small apartments.

    In my 100 year old house I had glass subway tile in the main bath that was original to the house. The rectangles were large and the color of a celery or jade green. They bordered the top of the white ceramic tiles all around the room higher than a chair rail. I had to re-tile the shower so I used small white ceramic subway and bordered it with a mixed green glass to blend with the rest of the bathroom. Try out several green shades before choosing. I was able to find green glass vintage jars to hold swabs and stuff too. And I had all those cool plates and knobs and hinges and rope weight windows. It’s so fun rehabbing an old home. ❤️🥰👍

Just one thought - I never book an Airbnb with shared living and sleeping space with my husband as he enjoys staying up later than I do so we need a bedroom that has a door that closes so he can watch movies half the night in another room.
