Something about how Mark gets Jake Hess to laugh just lifts the whole thing up to a higher level. Jake had a great sense of humor and you can see it in the videos from the Gaither Groups.
Jake Hess wrote this song after an illness. He chose to sing the Gospel with 20-25% heart function. What a blessing he is!

I do miss Jake, I had heart failure in 2014, I lived with my heart function of 10-17%, in a wheelchair and Walker, on 3,-14-20 my legs where healed Praise God,
6 months later I died in the Church parking lot, taken to 2 different hospitals, after 3 days on life support,Banner University Medical Center called Pastor Moises Herrera, of La Hermosa Chosesa, Church and told him to make arrangements to come pick up my Body I was dead....after 3days! God made a example of me
In 2018 I again was on life support for 3 days and the 3rd day they put me on the regular floor,my cell phone rings and a pastor Benjamin Diaz Morones, starts telling me that for the last 3 days my business card was popping up in front of him he started to ask the Lord and the Lord said to come and pray for my heart ❤
He did and when he said Amen! my Cardiologist Lee Ugol, came thru the door with other doctors saying my heart my heart it I'm proved A lot God healed my heart ❤ I have letters from multiple doctors saying that I had a unexpected improvement in Health, they said the couldn't say Miracle because they were doctors, I'm from Milwaukee Wisconsin and
Bill and Gloria, would stay at our house occasionally along with Big John Hall ,

Someone commented that this group did not act like Christians, that this was just entertainment and comedy,disrespectful. Every member of the Gaither Vocal Band is a deeply committed, born-again lover of Jesus . Mark Lowry said in an interview that God asked him to convince people that a Man rose from the dead .Mark Lowry wrote "Mary Did You Know ? " and Michael English made the first recording of it. If you watch Mark sing it the expression on his face and expression of his singing you would have no doubt that he loves Jesus with his all his being and wants everybody else to love Him , too

I would not have redecorated my life to Christ had it not been for the videos I watch of the Gaither Vocal Band, their homecoming videos, and the other groups that sing in the videos. So many of them have gone to be with Jesus and they are sorely missed. Beautiful, heavenly voices with hearts that was filled with love for the Lord. They have a song for every mood I'm in and it ministers to my soul. I wish I could afford to buy every homecoming set they have made, but as long as I have UA-cam, I have the music. Thank you.
Ms. Shirley, the songs and videos of the Gaithers and the Homecomings are bringing me back to the Lord. This, is also in combination with the weekly message of Pastor Robert Morris from Gateway Church. God’s got a hold on me and I hope He never lets me go. 🙏🏻

My mom loved this! She laughed her head off at Mark Lowry's antics. Her favorite music was Southern Gospel Country. Her last days on this earth were filled with laughter & great conversation. She loved listening to all I could play for her. Some songs made her want to get up & dance while others just made her weep in thankfulness for what Christ did for her.

I have just learned about Jonathan Pierce. I have seen him on several Dvds and adore his voice and range. I was so saddened by SgMusics loss of such an amazing young man. Mark is so funny and a good Christian man. I remember one time when he was about to do a live stream on his UA-cam channel and before it, I was having a really bad day. After a bunch of complaining and having a pity party, I watched his live stream. You could probably imagine the regret I felt when the first thing he sang was "This is The Day." After a while he asked us to sing with him. I did and was reminded that no matter what kind of day we have, God made it and I can still have His joy. After all, the joy of the Lord is our strength!
