A few years ago the original band played the last 6-7 songs at an Alice concert in Nashville, minus Buxton of course. The songs they played live sounded just like the LP songs. I wish Alice would do a limited number of shows around the country with the original members. They were great that night.
They should do a whole album and then a tour with Ryan Roxie filling in for GB. But that will never happen. Shep will say no and then Alice will just go along with that.
I got the album "Killer" for my 8th birthday in 1972 - I wore that thing out. Next I got Schools Out, then Pretties for you... Then on to Billion Dollar Babies. The album cover blew my little mind away! Me and my friend Todd we're the biggest of AC fans from a very early age. The music and image of the band not only shaped my musical tastes, but my entire professional art career and love of all things dark and humorous - I was only 11 when Welcome to My Nightmare came out, and can remember being completely shocked when I saw that original band wasn't on the album. It just wasn't the same for me... I owe a debt of gratitude for everyone involved with those early albums.
Me too...I was devastated when the original band broke up...I got "Welcome to my nightmare" and I'd pretend it was the original guys playing...I turned into a little psycho for awhile... then someone got me "Lace and whiskey" for Christmas and I threw it out...I remember my mom singing to to "You and me'' in the kitchen...I was horrified...just years earlier Alice was a parents worst nightmare...now my mom's a fan...
@@jazzpunk I remember seeing only Alice on the cover of 16 & Teen beat...but that was like '74 or '75...and I knew the band was finished...you could be right though...I never checked those magazines while the original band was still together...
@@philipholmes5884 The entire band was in there...height, weight, zodiac sign...🙂 IIRC, Michael Bruce was the only guy over 150lbs (165lbs). The rest were rail thin.
Ordered a copy for myself, The Alice cooper group was a big part of my childhood, I remember seeing them on tv for the first time when i was maybe 10 years old, and it scared the shit out of me and i loved it to death!, still a big fan of the older stuff to this day. DD rules
Was that on ABC's in concert when Alice came out with a beer and put his t-shirt under his chin and started freaking out ? My older girl cousin's friend had to tell me about it cause I couldn't get to see it !
The original Alice Cooper band were just crazy brilliant !! They had more than just "chemistry" there was something very, very special about that band. In my opinion, Alice never bettered that band. That's not to say that the current band aren't as good but, they aren't better than the original band.
