I am also having to change mine every couple months. All our levels are perfect. I bring in samples regular and keep it balanced. Is something wrong with my tub? We use it every day, does that matter? We just got it in March and are already on our third cartridge in June!
Great question. We recommend having your water tested for phosphates.
High phosphate levels seem to be the number one culprit.
Im needing to change out my salt cell cartridge every month, water has been balanced properly...why so frequently to change when supposed to last up to 4 months? Can there be another technical issue going on? I bought the limelight in April and already needing a 4th salt cartridge.
That is not normal. If your water is balanced correctly the cartridges are designed to last 3 months. The two main factors for shorten cartridge life are. Ph and Alkalinity either to high or low. Or Calcium levels are to high.
Should you hear and machine running or bubbles coming out of pumps when it's on? Cuz nothing happens with mine and I have a zero read on chlorine levels

how often are the cartridges needed to change and what is the cost of them (UK)?
Usually every 3 months. Your hot tub will let you know.

What if it’s saying that but it’s only 1 week old? My salt reading is good, I’m right at 1750.
Ours started out in the low left position. Chemicals are all good and so is the salt. Had a water test done. Cartridge is only 2 1/2 months old. Will high use lower the life span of these things?
Its hard to say without being there. Make sure that salt, Ph & Alkalinity along with calcium levels are all in their proper parameters.

So I just changed my salt cell cartridge 3 weeks ago and it already needs a new one, what do you think the problem could be? The dealer says it's normal to change it after a month.
They should last 3 months. The most common reason for premature failure is calcium build up on the cell.

@@mustangirl20 Its best to start the hot tub out by filling it with soft water. This can be done by using a soft water unit. You can also soften water with Watkins Vanishing act.
How do you know if you have high calcium?
My water is super soft around 25... my remote is saying high salt/ check replace cartridge... so replace cartridge with a brand new one and nothing changed..still says high/ check replace..
My alk is good..
My hardness good
My ph is around 8 or so [ struggling with only that]
No phosphates ...
Now what?
Green light just keeps flashing..

There are a number of factors that can adversely affect the cartridges lifespan.
1) Calcium Hardness
2) Ph / Alkalinity
3) Phosphates
Would start by making sure these three things are within range.
So, what if cartridge only lasts 2 1/2 MONTHS?
Great question. There are a few factors that can shorten the life of a cartridge. Ph, Phosphates, Calcium. If any of these factors are to high in your hot tub it will shorten the life of the cartridge.
This system sucks. First cartridge last 4 months. Second one on 1 month and I have all my levels pretty damn good all the time. I just bought a new one and when I turned it in it’s on yellow right next to the green. I have a feeling this 100 cell will last a month too. If it does there is clearly a problem with these things. 15k and 100 a month was not what I signup for.
