I was ok until they started showing the kids next to their father's pictures.... then it was just tears. 20 years, and it still hurts. God bless those families.
Don't recall the young lady's name, but one of those children was interviewed years ago for a magazine. In the interview she said she had a picture of her daddy holding her older sister as a baby framed in her room. Any time she looked at it, she would pretend it was her he was holding, because she didn't have any pictures with him.
I wish they would also interview the few fathers left behind who had to raise their kids on their own. There wasn't a lot but I saw a story of a flight attendent who was on the plane that went down in Pensylvannia. She was about to retire from flight attending to raise her child full-time and one of her last shifts was on that plane. Her husband was a pilot for another company and he too would have had to raise his child as a single father.
That and I’d be interested to see the men who lost their pregnant partners in 9/11. To lose your SO and your unborn child. That has got to be unimaginably painful. I hope all of these people find peace.
this was so beautiful and touching. Praise to all of the mothers for being so strong and maintaining throughout it all. I’m sure their pain never goes away but these women definitely showed what the definition of strength is.👏🏼👍🏽
I am sitting here watching this in tears....when they did those side-by-side photos of the young adults with their fathers...I lost it. So beautiful, yet so tragic at the same time. It's all in the eyes...you can see the spirit of each of the fathers in their children's eyes. Absolutely incredible.
Here are the parents shown from 1:49 to 2:24. 1:51- Stanley S. Smagala, Jr. (aged 36, FDNY Engine Company 226, died entering the South Tower) 1:56- Maj. Ronald D. Milam (aged 33, US Army, Pentagon) 2:01- Gerald Atwood (aged 38, FDNY Ladder Company 21, died entering the South Tower) 2:06- Timothy P. Soulas (aged 35, Cantor Fitzgerald, North Tower, 105th floor) 2:11- Keith Glascoe, Sr. (aged 39, FDNY Ladder Company 21, died entering the South Tower) 2:16- Robert D. Higley II (aged 29, Aon Corp., South Tower, 92nd floor) 2:21- Daniel T. Afflito, Sr. (aged 32, Cantor Fitzgerald, North Tower, 104th floor)
Oh my gosh...this has to be the most beautiful tribute I’ve ever seen before!! 😢Genius to have thought of taking a picture of all the babies 20 years ago. God bless.♥️
Gosh, I remember that day like yesterday. I was thirty, now 50. I was at work in the morning and we were listening to our favorite morning show on our local rock station and it was going on 9:00 am and they were saying that a plane hit the WTC in NYC and I waited a few minutes and said to my co-worker, “there”s going to be another one, this is terrorism”, and he didn’t believe me, then they announced it. I can still see myself looking at the radio there on a little shelf by the back door and hearing what I just knew and said. I didn’t find out until I got home and was watching it on tv with my dad, that one hit the Pentagon and one went down in PA. I’m up in Canada and hearing this. It makes me feel old to see all these young people that were infants back then, all grown up now, but I am so glad they got the chance.
September 11th is my birthday. So many calls coming in early wishing me a happy birthday. Then the call came.. “turn on the tv.” It’s a poignant day for me.
I was 33, teaching at the time when the towers collapsed. Now am 53 and vividly remember that day which became undetermined concerning our schools and the public places in America!
Remember watching all those babies, to see them carry a piece of their lost parent is incredibly sweet. At the end it is all about love and what we leave behind as a legacy ❤️this 9/11 in the northeast was just like that day, beautiful sunny skies with a hint of cool fall air and tears were shed. Will never forget!!!
I was 7 years old when I saw my mommy watching the news on 9/11, I am 28 now...... still can never forgetting still drinking away the pain of that moment man PTSD till I die.....
These families are amazing, they would all have made their husbands and fathers proud!! I saw a longer clip of Diane sawyer trying to get a photo of them when they were 1y/o last night and there was one little girl that was so adorable she was comforting the babies next to her, And she was a baby herself. They were all crying and she was holding the one on the left of hers hand and rubbing the head of the one on the right. What a sweetheart! I picture her taking after her daddy I helping people in the towers♥️
🙏🏼💕they look so much like their fathers .. they may not be here ,but they will never be forgotten .. .. thank you for your service 🙏🏼💕God bless those families 🙏🏼💕
My daughter was born on September 13 2001 at 9:01 am. It may not be September 11 but it's in the same month and year. We will never never forget September 2001.
I remember being at work preparing for my boss to make an announcement of my promotion. Then we found out this happened. At that point, I could have cared less what was going on with me. Time stood still and all I wanted to do was watch the news of ALL the heroes living and who died to save our country from evil.
God Bless all these babies, now grown !!!!!!!!! STAY STRONG FOREVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God Bless all the Mom's, and follow Jack's Mom's words of wisdom and inspiration !!!!!!!!!!!! I came home from NY to teach before 9/11. I told my classes about 9/11 to honor all of you and your lost love ones !!!!!!!!!! Years later, one of my students thanked me !!!!!!!!!! God Bless you, and your loved ones will never be forgotten !!!!!!!!!!!
Oh my. Thank goodness I don't subscribe to cable tv or I'd for sure watch this and cry profusely, the entire show. I will pray for these beautiful children and their mothers for becoming beacons of light, love and empowerment.
👣 Such beautiful families of 9/11.✝️ My Stepdad, teacher and coach 💙 Dave Sanders was murdered at Columbine High school on April 20,1999 in Littleton, Colorado.🙏 Hugs to victims families. 🤗#davesandersstepdaughter
I was born in 2002 which was the 9/11 school year and the year the class of 2020 was born, and yet i was traumatized by Covid. I was supposed to graduate in 2020 which never happened. So much can happen in a short 20 years
That is so remarkable no one in this country should ever get this day it's really sad how this country has become since then God bless all those people
These women are very strong. Incredibly respectful of their deceased husbands and obviously did everything they could to honor their mates. I think it's amazing that these kids look very much like their fathers, when mothers look at their kids I'd think it helps them as well remember their husbands. I gasped when I saw these side-by-side pictures... uncanny! Looks like the sons have their dad's noses mostly, then mouth shapes (Danny Soulas has it all, a mirror image!!). For the daughters, it's mostly the colors (eyes and hair).
Life is uncertain, evil destroys lifes, & relationships fall broken. It's deep in our hearts we yearn for security, only God can provide this. He loves always. God loves the world, He gave His Son Jesus (unto death for our sins), whoever believes in Him will not die but have everlasting life. John3:16 Please repent of your sin and believe today. Dont be left behind.
I was ok until they started showing the kids next to their father's pictures.... then it was just tears. 20 years, and it still hurts. God bless those families.
Me to I done cried
Same here 💔🥺😥
They look just like their dads. 🥺 And there’s so many more family’s touched by that day.
What amazes my is how much they all look like their FARTHERS. 💜
I was about to say the same a lot of them look exactly like them
I noticed it too. The grin, the smile, the eyes, mouth shape etc etc . It’s a blessing in a a way for the wives ,childen & not yo forget the FATHERS
Rite some of them were shocking. I've seen kids that "look" like mom or dad I have 2 of own. But my word talk about spitting image with these kids.
A farther is a very important thing
Farthers
Kudos to those mothers. They had warrior strength to not just survive the grief but to raise their children to be as strong and beautiful as they are.

😭😭❤
Yes!!!!! I do remember who u aré talking about shes on a video here on UA-cam!
The kids look so cute when they were babies. If only their fathers were alive to see them all grown up. They would be so proud.😭😭😭
I wish they would also interview the few fathers left behind who had to raise their kids on their own. There wasn't a lot but I saw a story of a flight attendent who was on the plane that went down in Pensylvannia. No way can I watch that show tonight. I'm in tears just watching the preview.
@Rachel Ross Make sure you have enough tissues etc. That'll do it. Definitely worth it.
Play Metallica. That'll relax ya!
I can’t believe it’s been 20 years.
Same here. I feel old.
Better believe it, time doesn't exist in the next life
That son and mom at the end got me 😭
Me too!!!!!
Me tooo I’m tearing up over here
How crazy is... that the kids look alike there parents now that's a gift from god
they all resemble their lost ones too mini or not so mini clones anymore
it’s called genetics
@@gigijade I’ve seen kids that look nothing like one parent. Heck, I barely resemble my father (I’m basically a clone of my mom).
Oh my gosh...this has to be the most beautiful tribute I’ve ever seen before!! 😢Genius to have thought of taking a picture of all the babies 20 years ago. God bless.♥️

Heartbreaking never met their father.
This touches my heart! Very sad dad for everyone. I remember it all too well. Glad there doing good.

All these dad genes were strong asf 🥺
My dad was supposed to work in one of the top floors as a chef. :( So glad it didn't happen. I can't imagine my life without my dad
So sad, and so proud about them

What a blessing. Fathers so proud
I'm several years older than these early 2000's kids. They don't have the memory of that day like I do.
😭😭😭😭😭God bless the mothers and children💗💗💗
I went to school with Alexa and Robert, I knew about alexa being in this but I’m just now realising Robert had this happen too, so sad😢
It saddens me that they never met their dad, no matter what their dads would be proud of all them.
