That's the ONE doomed voice that has always stayed with me. God was with her,, when she received dismissive treatment on the phone. I was praying for her....over and over on 9/11.
Say if you prevent 911 it’s going to be another attack because of Osama bin Laden would still be alive with Master mind plans that could be more terrifying then 911 it’s something called the butterfly effect
@Native Warrior I was on the phone with the electric company and I remember the customer service rep telling me about it because the electric went out in my house and I wasn’t able to see the news. She said she thinks we are at war and I asked why and she told me.
Betty's final words on the call: "He's flying very erratically. Oh my God. We're low. We are way too low." Only seconds later the plane crashed. She stayed on to the very last second. After the crash the operator spent the next 2 minutes trying to get her to answer, but no answer came. It was only minutes later the report reached her of a plane down in Manhattan. At that point she gave up her attempts to teach Betty.
A slight correction, those were the final words of Amy Sweeney I believe. She was among one of Flight 11's flight attendants that day and was also able to contact a manager and relay information too. Betty's final words were "Pray for us, Pray for us". Regardless, they were real heroes.
@@ww2expert283 You are correct. Both Sweeney and Ong called in on Airfone at 820am. Sweeney gave the seat numbers of the hijackers to AA managers, who were able to look them up even before Flight 11 hit the North Tower.

It just infuriates me the way flight attendants are being treated in the last year. They are on the flight to keep everyone safe, reassure those who are frightened, and be the face of the airline. These entitled people who think they can do whatever they want are looking for publicity. Why else would they waste money on a ticket, and the be potentially banned from a carrier? There is something wrong with these trouble makers. I’m sure the flight crews who were lost on 9 11 would be horrified with what goes on today.
It doesn’t justify forcing two year olds to wear masks, sorry but that’s child abuse. I’m a expat and that doesn’t happen at any airline overseas. I don’t know one who force a child under 6 to wear a mask. Just the “free” Americans.

By 3rd period, every single classroom had the news on all TVs and we watched everything unfold. We had an early dismissal that day at 12pm. I will never forget that day especially how picture perfect and gorgeous the weather was. No matter how many years have passed, September is always an emotional time for me. Love flight attendants and respect them and the airline industry tremendously.

She had nerves of steel, what a wonderfull woman! Love from air 🇫🇷
@@Bertrand146 I agree, especially after seeing people stabbed
@@freakyflow Come on, she was a seasoned crew member, she obviously saw the buildings around her and the noise of the plane flying so fast and so low must have been unbearable (the air is dense). She experienced what the poor souls on board of Germanwings did. Flying down as you see the tips of the mountains...
Whenever 9/11 is mentioned, Betty Ong is first victim and hero I can clearly see though they were many heros that day and so many more victims... I can't explain it but since 9/11, I always felt connected to Betty as if she was my guardian angel (and I know I'm not the only pilot to feel that way)....
Somehow I know she is still flying and taking care of everyone on board.
Thank you Betty Ong. ✈ 🇫🇷
She didn't know it was a suicide mission.
Even when the plane was speeding and erratic, she stayed calm. I can’t help but cry even all these years later.
Even after 20 years, this terrible day is still incredibly bad for me. It seems to me like it was only recently. There were so many heroes that day. But Betty Ong will always have a special place in my heart.
Rest in peace, Betty ❤
She gave the number of the seats of the terrorists with a remarkable memory and sharp mind. RIP Betty Ong. Ever since I heard the tapes some 15 years ago, I couldn't forgot her name.
That's the ONE doomed voice that has always stayed with me. God was with her,, when she received dismissive treatment on the phone. I was praying for her....over and over on 9/11.
yes.
A true hero. So calm in the face of terror. I would have melted. Rest in Peace Betty Ong and all the flight crew and innocent passengers.
@Hello there, how are you doing this blessed day?
So sorry Betty and everyone else on that flight went through what they did. Wish I had a time machine.
and so create a new timeline? no thanks.
Say if you prevent 911 it’s going to be another attack because of Osama bin Laden would still be alive with Master mind plans that could be more terrifying then 911 it’s something called the butterfly effect
Yeah that’s a terrible idea don’t stop 9/11
dont stop 9/11
plus what you gonna do
Me too, Id buy some Apple stock and bet on a few races.
This is still a lot to take in 20 years later.
@Native Warrior I was on the phone with the electric company and I remember the customer service rep telling me about it because the electric went out in my house and I wasn’t able to see the news. She said she thinks we are at war and I asked why and she told me.
It certainly is, Deanna .. 💔
Flight attendants are not just people who give you snacks and food they are real heroes they are more than just people who give food
Yep, they ensure our safety throughout the flight
Absolutely !!!!!!!!!!
These inhuman people took life of these brave people , they never really gone her legacy live forever, her voice and calm demure is unbelievable
Betty's final words on the call: "He's flying very erratically. Oh my God. We're low. We are way too low."
Only seconds later the plane crashed.
@@ww2expert283 yes! Rip
@@ww2expert283 Yes. You are correct. It was Amy Sweeney who said that. Thanks for the correction.
@@ww2expert283 You are correct. Both Sweeney and Ong called in on Airfone at 820am. Sweeney gave the seat numbers of the hijackers to AA managers, who were able to look them up even before Flight 11 hit the North Tower.

A story that no one read or heard about. A true hero and made the ultimate sacrifice. R.I.H.P Betty Ong and crew.
I've remembered her since I heard the 9/11 tapes!! I have NEVER her out of my thoughts.God was with her on that terrible day.
She’s a hero, as well as Madeline Sweeney, John Ogonoski, along with along with all the passengers aboard United 93. You’re all heroes and you will never be forgotten. May all of those who perished never be forgotten and may all of those who perished, rest in peace.
Betty was 9/11's First hero from the skies!! God Bless her! Her Courage and Bravery on that Fateful Day in Our American History, Never to be Forgotten!!
No matter how many years have passed us by, it all seems so fresh and just as painful. May God keep all the victims in their eternal glory.

I’m crying like it was today! I was only 17 when it happened and I can tell you it was a beautiful morning, however by the end of the day you could feel the country mourning for it’s fallen heroes...we will never forget! 😞
I was 17 too, never forget 🙏❤
I was 17 as well. Watched the news in my high school classrooms. I really wanted to go home so I could cry.
I was in 5th grade.
I was 15 and still remember
I was 18 and had graduated high school that June. I remember it like yesterday and it was my dad’s bday which was completely swept under the rug. That day will forever be sketched in my memory.
In my eyes Betty is a hero if it wasn't for her calm demeanor and instant action this would've ended differently. Rest in peace Barbara, Jeffery, Sara, Karen, Kathleen, Betty, Jean, Dianne, Madeline, Thomas, Amy and John 🕊️❤. It takes a special kind of person to be a flight attendant.
? It ended in the worst possible way.
Amen. They should always be treated with deference and respect.
Betty was a hero. But please explain what you mean when you said "this would've ended differently". What you say makes absolutely no sense. Flight 11 crashed into the north tower if the WTC, killing close to 1,600 people. Your comment was ignorant and uneducated.
@@gpipeline What are you talking about? All I said was it could've ended differently I didn't say that what happened wasn't bad nor did I imply it. Why are you so upset? We don't know what the outcome could've been had she not made that call that's literally all I said. It's ignorant to assume terrible things about someone who was making a comment with good intentions have a decent day.
Flight 11 is the number that match the same day of 11th when Betty Ong will never be forgotten.
Even 11 was code for twin towers also...look like the number itself

What a hero she was. Even though she and the rest on the plane didn’t make it, who knows how many lives much her information helped save.
I agree! That's why she is a hero.
Yes. She was brave and hung on, to hope--
RIP Betty your heroic actions won't be forgotten.
Betty Ong stayed very professional & calm to the first person she spoke to. That lady on the other line was incredibly rude . They didn’t play that part. It wasn’t until Betty was transferred to another person , that they started taking her call seriously . Rest In Peace
That is the INCREDIBLY RUDE person, I cannot forget. I believe she was under-qualified for her role, on that day. I believe God forgave her for her reaction-which was terrible.
When I listen to that , every time I just get cold chills. They kissed the kids and told them all they'd see them in a day to two and then everything changed. I don't know how she maintained her composure. She and all that other attendants were just incredible. No one should ever forget them, and those that weren't alive at that time need to hear the stories of all who ere involved that day.
I am a flight attendant and this gives me chills everytime I watch it. I love what I do and I’ll never trade this for anything in the world. Nothing gives me more joy than taking care of passengers and my fellow crew mates

My aunt, Dianne Bullis Snyder was one of the flight attendants on AA Flight 11 on that fateful day. She was a great wife and mother. I always carry her picture with me on my phone and look at it on 9/11 at 8:46am during my moment of silence.
True professionalism! I cant even imagine how she felt inside while calling the centres down there instead of calling may be her kids or husband or parents! Her calm voice puts me in awe, a true hero!
I am not a flight attendant but as a doctor this gave me a lesson to hold on to professionalism and serving people no matter what circumstances u are in and bet your life upin it!

True Heroes 🛫
There were many hero’s on 911, Betty symbolizes all of them with the last voice heard fighting to the end. I hope the new protocol since 911 would get USAF involved sooner for any mid air incidents.
Have you you heard the phone call from flight 93? Mannn that will have you in tears, but proud at the same time. That was the flight that fought against the terriosts
I believe she was specially chosen because of her ability to remain calm and composed, everything is already pre-destined. I will never forget your courage Betty💜
God bless their souls🙏🏼I can not imagine the horror and how scared everyone must have been. Rest In Peace.
Seems as she was brave and wise. No panic in her voice at such an extreme situation.Kudos to her.
So everyone has to panic? Controlling your emotion

Wow Betty Ong stay so calm and I’m sure that was hard in her but she stayed calm through it, she’s a hero. They all were hero’s that day specially the ones lost in the twin towers, fire fighters, police, and flight attendants. 20 years ago this still holds heavy hearts. I mostly everyone in the US remembers that day and what they’ve heard and seen happen around them with others. I sure do.
Hi I was in crew scheduling operation s for years in Chicago. I adored my crew members from all over and remember them all. My Boston crew members reported for sign in at my desk and we would all laugh and get all our business done. Many of them invited me to come to Boston.... I was 17 when 9/11 happened. My school was only 40 mins away from NYC. It was my Senior year and I was heading to my 2nd period French class when talks of a plane crashing into the WTC were floating around.
