Writing is tough, but the best advice every writer ever will tell you is: do the work. Just sit down and write every day, even if it's garbage. If you spend all your time just thinking like a writer and thinking about being a writer, you're already dead as a writer. Sit down and do the work, end of story.
Stephen King doesn't believe in writer's block; neither should you. For many would-be writers, this is merely something they tell themselves exists as an easy way out for not writing, and so they can play the tortured writer cliche. Don't be this person. Get a routine, and just do the work.
"I only write when inspiration strikes. Fortunately it strikes at nine every morning.”

Writer’s block IS real. I was writing a non-fiction piece about myself once, and it was personal, full of things I had only told my closest friends. Each time I went back to it, the harder it got to write, so the wordcount stagnated.
One day, when I forced myself to write, I started feeling a panic attack coming on, the first I had ever had.
I downed a large glass of gin and just kept writing until it was finished and the words began to blur.
Writer’s block is real. It’s like the demon-version of your muse that you have to constantly battle. It makes you doubt yourself, tries to convince you to hate your own writing-anything to get you to stop working. But if you’re passionate enough about your story (or have enough gin), the demon can’t stop you

A lot of writers say not to watch T.V. or movies because it is poison. I don't believe this at all. Reading will definitely show you ways to write and give you inspiration, but T.V. can give just as many great ideas and inspiration. It's all about the lessons in the stories, no matter the platform.

The mark of a truly talented author is when they find themselves writing badly, that they still manage to sift through it all to find a single golden nugget of great writing. Even if it's only a sentence. Don't stop writing, even if it's bad. The very act of writing makes you better.

@@manuelalvaradojr4066 I think it depends on many factors. For example, if you want to be a writer as your primary job it may be hard, but George Orwell didn't succed the first time he wrote a book either. It's hard, but not impossible, and if you truly want it, to quote Elon musk:--"When something is really important to you, you do it even if the odds are not in your favor". Hope it helps

As a writer who has been going through a pretty grouch time sitting down at the machine to bleed, I thank you for making this video. It came to me when I needed it most. I watch it whenever I feel I have lost my way and I then sit down to my typewriter, or my computer to bleed. Because that is what writing is, as Hemingway said: "There's nothing to writing...all you do is sit at your typewriter and bleed." I've had a rough time of creativity since I wrote my last book and have struggled with what to do next but I have a clear idea of what to do now. So thank you; thank you very much

i haven't been able to write these few three days cuz of distractions about d novel, discord servers, and online critiquez which makes me had a thought of giving up. it seemed like im wrong all along. i shouldn't follow what's inside my head nor even the curiousity but instead, myself.

I'm planning on writing a 234 page short book. I just got finished reading a book a few days ago and taking good details about the exposition, inciting incident, rising action, etc. How many pages each had and come up with my own story. I wrote two short stories in high school and a poem. They didn't have plot but this story will.

Chip away at it, folks. Great gains are not made in giant leaping bounds, but step by step, little by little. Keep writing. 100 words is better than no words. Anchor in and resolve yourself to do the work. It's not easy, but rare is the day that something worthwhile is easy. Good luck and keep on keepin' on!

so... early this year, I finished my book and published it on Amazon - and your video gave me the boost necessary to accomplish this goal. It's funny how you went from 198 views to 54198 - while I went from empty pages to 90.000 words.
Now I struggle to find a publisher - and I came back to your video to get the necessary energy to make me handle all the rejections I receive each day.
      Thank you!
