    This trick is known as the Biddle trick. It gets its name from the steal that you asked the name of, which is known as the Biddle steal, which in turn gets its name from the grip, which is called the Biddle grip. Also the card force isn't necessary. You can use a key card and then take out 5 cards from the deck face up, so that no control or force is required. The count is yet another application of the Biddle steal.

    I am pretty sure it doesn’t have a name (the move i mean) and about the giveaway, i think a simple deck of cards are good enough! Wether it’s bicycle, Noc, Copag you name it! I’m sure whoever wins will love it! If i may suggest, the copag 310 is a good deck to giveaway because it contains a blank card and a double backer really handy for magicians! All in all i think this trick is very powerful imagining a point of view from a lamen’s eyes.

    I love your videos, and I love your explanations! So I write this comment with the upmost respect.
    Correct me if I'm wrong but the trick demonstrated in the beginning didn't have you do any sort of riffle force like you had done in the tutorial. I believe it was because you already looked and knew it was the ten of hearts as there were no actual spectator in front of you which makes sense, but this brings me to my next question. How do you get the spectator to choose a card in the tutorial? To be fair, only the magician would know that it was the queen of hearts, the spectator never even got to look at it after they told you to stop and finished the cut. Maybe I'm missing something but some clarification would be highly appreciated. Much love, Steve!

    • @steventaputoro
      @steventaputoro  5 років тому +1

      Great question and thank you for asking. Yes, definitely in the tutorial it's a little strange because I have nobody to perform it for. After they shuffle the cards you want to peek the top playing card as explained in the tutorial. You can peek the top card and force it in any fashion that suits your style. Thanks for the support! Steve.

    Amazing Job Steve!! The move is called a biddle steal. If anyone needs another tutorial, I’d recommend checking out Mismag822’s biddle steal video.

    I think the second move is an Elmsly count. But I am even less than an amateur I just pick up stuff to fool engineers and get them to buy more

    • @hanzelnuts8446
      @hanzelnuts8446 4 роки тому

      An Elmsley count is used to hide the 3rd card, whether it'll be a face up card in a face down stack, or a different color card from the rest. The move in this trick, as many have stated, is a biddle steal. It gets its name from you holding the stack in a biddle grip.
