This is one of my all time favourite tricks to perform! It’s a great packet trick and gets great reactions! I learnt this trick from a Bill Malone DVD years ago!
Hi Steve, I enjoy your videvery much. I've learned a lot. I have a question. I am looking for a card table like the one you have in this video. Could you please help me? I would greatly appreciate it. Take care, Kerry
Really love this, definitely going to try and add it to my routine. I did immediately spot the upjog of the red cards and showing the blue cards twice which initially made me doubt the performance but I'm sure that's only because I have *some* knowledge of card magic, albeit at beginner level. I'm sure 99% of people will never notice.
Great trick! Had it down after only a few times practicing it. The 'random shuffle' was truly amazing, it even fooled me! I'm sure it will get rave responses when I begin performing it for others here in Louisville, Kentucky home of 'The Derby' 'Thanks, Mate!'
Phenomenal trick! Well-performed and well-taught. I can see why it's one of your all-time favorite tricks to perform. Bill Malone (my teacher and good friend for many years) is my all-time favorite magician! Thank you for giving him credit. Too few magicians on UA-cam do that.
Hello Steven, does that one or two switch shuffle has a specific name ? I investigate a little bit, but can't find the name of this shuffling method. Thank for your good job on your channel.
@@steventaputoro Hello Steven, I finally found out the name of this shuffle. It is called the -*Swindle Shuffle*-. Found it a little bit by chance, reading a really nice trick using this shuffle. If you want, one of those I coud pass you privatly that trick. I'm sure you will enjoy it. Bye
To be honest, I totally saw what you did. And I would totally ruin that trick because if you asked me to switch, I would switch and not do what you do, which very obviously isn't switching. And regarding the red/blue in the beginning: I noticed that, but it was so obvious that I figured you just misspoke.
Also, when he flipped over the jack from the red you could see the back of the next card. But then he took the jack off and magically the next card was face up lol
@@steventaputoroat around the 10:00 mark it’s kinda messed up. Like it seems at that point you weren’t sure yourself what to do. But it seems like a double lift has to happen to show the 5. At that point you see the next card face down. But when you put then 5 down, the j is magically face up
Nice. A lot of beginner card tricks involve the endless counting of half or full decks of cards -- and often multiple times. Snooze. Although this one has a lot of steps, I didn't get that feeling of, "OK, I'm bored waiting for the next thing to happen" when you wait for an interminable number of cards to be counted. Seems silly when you think the most it could be is 52, and that takes less than 10 seconds, but it's all relative. Magic is supposed to be snappy. Or that's the way I like it, at least. Maybe it's just me.
This could be a really nice trick, but it has some issues. It could be that you've simplified this for beginners, in which case that's fair enough. The biggest flaw for me is that the initial step showing the "red" cards are in order isn't convincing at all. Moving the wallet doesn't work as misdirection. Once you know that you've been shown the blues twice, it blows the trick, because you now know that the reds must be in a special order. This makes it obvious that the "shuffling" step on the blues, which already looks suspiciously contrived, is just putting the blues into the same order as the reds. For the opening, you could start with reds on the bottom, i.e. with the blue backs showing. As you turn over the pack, do a concealed cut, swapping the blues and reds. You then show what are supposed to be the reds, but are really the blues. You then turn over the cards again (which is justified, because you want to place the reds face down), doing another concealed cut, but this time keeping the two packs separate. This puts the reds back on the bottom, and you set them to the side. Although it's not as easy for a beginner, I would also suggest using a perfect Faro shuffle rather than the placing alternate cards to sort the blues into order. This won't look as suspicious, especially if it's immediately followed by a couple of false shuffles. The double lift is good, but I think it needs some misdirection between the lift and removing the top card. By having the turn-over immediately followed by revealing the flipped card, it looks like you turned two cards over. If you can tell that the next card in their pack is the flipped card (i.e. it's covered by just one face-down card), you can do the double lift first, revealing your card, then reveal their card. Only then do you remove your top card. This provides a bit of separation between the lift and revealing the flipped card. You can make sure that you can see their flipped card coming up by being intentionally a bit messy as you're removing the earlier cards.
Steve, don't mind your dental work, we watch your great tricks and tutorials, not your dental work. that's truth, and if sometimes we laugh couple minutes, don't take it seriously. Everybody must be able to laugh himself, right. Anyway, nice trick, thanks for shearing. Mikael from Finland.

It was pretty easy to spot the trickery with the red/blue cards at the beginning. The wallet wasn’t enough.
You are also not a 'in the know' layperson. Stop thinking like a magician 👌🏻
Yeah, that threw me off, too. I thought he misspoke because it was so obvious.

Funny, I really don't like this one! Tastes are so different of course, but the opening and handling feels so "suspicious" to me!
If a noob like me noticed after 2 sec that you showed the blue cards twice then it's not a good trick lmao
