As a character, Victor absolutely has lots of dissociative amnesia, likely with either osdd or as part of (c)ptsd. I think they show it really well - and the reaction to hearing about the matthews losing one of their children in this eppisode could be a triggered emotional flashback as he lost his sister, hinting at that ahead of s2. I think looking at his character through the lense of trauma is a useful way to reframe parts of his story
yeah, 100% agree. He's also my favorite character, and it's because he's very complex and also one of the characters that have the most exciting scenes (I feel anyway). I love him and Jade. Jade's reaction to the scary stuff is so funny to me, and I love how he just goes after the clues he gets whenever he finds something new.
I also enjoyed how the writers show difference in how people react to each other. The Mathews were creeped out by Victor, who ended up helping them. But they let Ethean be alone with Sara, when she was a killer and 'hearing voices'
I love that you don’t try to claim that any theories are facts (no one knows anything for sure and some people try to do this). Also you always leave room for the possibility that certain observations can just be coincidental or bad or editing or something. Too many times, I’ve seen shows where people insist that inconsistencies must mean something and more often than not, they don’t.
1978 makes a lot of sense if the dates align with dates that have events with a large body count. 2:35. If Victor was born in the late 60s…he could be 12 or 13 in 1978. But maybe he is older then.
The picture of Julie led me down a totally different way than i was expecting. It made me think of those new totems in the trailer. They have their eyes closed at first i thought they had no eyes and were to keep away the birds because i think someone or thing uses the birds to see but now i wonder if their eyes are closed because its a talisman against the dream entity. The pic of Julie with the lines being her asleep made me think of these totems. What if they're talisman against the dream entity from season 2 and not a cannibal village or something and well i dont think this is reinventing the wheel someone probably said it already but i think thats what the new totems are to protect against the sleeping entity that is making their nightmares come to life.
3.18 this picture of Julie Victor gives to Tabitha in the Lunchbox, in the season 2. I think that means something, will have some important role in season 3.
These videos are great, and your commentary is really funny, “If I see a monster killing a cow, I’m running in the other direction and Yussain Bolt wouldn’t catch me,” made me lol. Also loved the commentary on why the hell was Sarah kissing that guy before she straight up assassinated him? 😂😂 Thank you for working so hard on this and putting together so much that I missed. My theory is this will eventually emerge as an alternate reality/multiverse strand situation where travelers from many different realities (similar to our world but slightly different, like Fringe) have gotten trapped over the years and left traces of all of their varying mythologies and folklores. I also note that they have slowly introduced several theories via different characters as the show has progressed - Father Khatri believing it is the work of God as a new “chapter”, Jim/Randall believing it’s government experiments/conspiracy (I will point out here that Jim makes a comment that there are tests/experiments that the government has kept hidden, which is a common trope in a lot of shows like this but a red herring in my opinion), and Dale’s commentary during Fatima’s party (abruptly interrupted by a drunk Ellis), pointing to string theory/pocket universe. Then there’s the conversations between philosopher bartender and Jade about Shrodinger’s Cat, and Jade’s general intellectual probing, and Tabitha’s quest to discover the source of the electricity, which leads to another quest as the savior of children. She is also the one who gets an answer on whether they are dead or not, or whether this is the afterlife. In her conversation with Dr. Khatri, he states that he does not believe they are dead, and gives good supporting evidence for thinking this, and then Tabitha goes home and begins the pragmatic work of figuring out where the wires are going. I think this is the writers’ way of resolving definitively the question of whether or not this is the afterlife, basically saying “we’re getting rid of that theory early on, just get it out of your head.” The others are all still in play though, and I’m guessing they will introduce at least a couple more in the third season. I don’t think the answers will come until the last season, which for a high concept show like this, should be season 4. One of the reasons I love the Boyd character so much is that he’s a total pragmatist, he has figured out that there is an order of priorities in this crisis situation (very militaristic) and takes on the burden of leadership. He has also probably figured out the most because he is more of a doer than a ponderer (he’s the one who led people to hiding in rotation which builds the community, finds the talismans, establishes some order from chaos, probes the forest and finds livestock, probes the forest and finds music box, kills the first creature and autopsies it, probes its vulnerabilities, figures out how to save the three who are possessed, etc). Can’t wait to see more videos!
If the boy in white was good, why didn't he lead victor out when he was left alone in that horrible place? I also believe that victor knows the way out but he has lost all hope.
@kidiemokgope8227 .... remember, he told Jade that FROMVILLE 'was his home.' I think the only way that Victor may be convinced to leave is if he connects with his sister.
@@KaylasBestie but from the trailer it suggests she might not be alive, our best bet is if they sent her to a mental institution, because saying this happened to you might make you seem crazy. I feel bad for victor man, he has experience so much pain, I don't even think these monsters care when victor is out at night this place feeds on hope and victor has lost all hope,
'Imposter Syndrome?' HOGWASH!!! Never doubt yourself. Whenever I see a new video, I stop to watch and make sure to share, with a note to others that you're the real deal .... I was cracking up regarding your comments about Disco. The 70's/80's were part of my childhood, and music from those eras is something I listen to frequently. Boy, did I feel old ... 😂 I think when it's said and done, a lot of the flashbacks that we think are continuous aren't (dirty Victor and clean Victor). I'm still trying to figure out just WHEN they cross over to FROMVILLE, and y I feel the railroad tracks play a part? The #'s 4 and 7 seems to be popular. The trees moved 4 inches. Am I reaching? 😂😅 The first and half of Season two, I thought Victor was good. Know I don't know. I believe that this isn't the 1st cycle that he's gone thru. How does he know about the faraway trees? Maybe we'll find out this season. It frustrating that they don't talk to each other. Realistically, that's what ppl would do. Talk, ask questions, even if it's just gossip. 😮 Tillie is the mole. 😮😮 Sorry so long. As you're talking, I'm remembering things and wanna comment. I'm getting caught up like I did with LOST. Totally hooked! Great video, as usual. Take care!!
There is something really powerful about the scene with the railroad crossing the road and the trees around, but I can't explain why. It looks almost like a magic symbol. And i can't decide either if they got trapped in Fromuniverse when they saw the tree across the road or when Ethan walked on it and the raven noticed (or even at some other time).
6:44 It could be run by a phone operator. Those jukeboxes were ones where people requested a song and pushing the button would call an operator who would play the song on 45 through the phone to the jukebox speakers. Really, the operator could play any song. The 45s are not in that small booth machine so play is not limited to the songs listed. It could be the guy Jim talked to on the radio doing it.
Thank you for pointing out the contrast between Trudy's and Victor's behaviour and Julie's reaction to it. I hadn't noticed it and it shows more of their personnality. And I hope too it's not going to be an answer that fits in one sentence, or a lost-like answer or an alien under the dome style because it was already made. About the music box : we assume that the town has become Fromville around the time Victor lost his mum near the end of th 70's, so how come there are two songs on the music box from Lyle Lovett created in 1987 so after the town got supposedly cut off from the "normal" world? Or maybe Victor looks older than he is . We also learn new things about the forest : it moves, and new faraway trees can appear? And teleportation is not instantaneous, it took 10 secondes in this instance and it fell from the sky, not merely appeared. But for now we don't have specific dates and thinking of it, we don't even have a name for the town before it became Fromville, do we? Has any character even asked the question to Victor? And by the way, how did he not get mad staying alone so long? How did he survive by himself? So many questions...
Great questions and I have been asked the same and going down the same rabbit hole The 87 songs stick out, Here is what I have noticed so far the flashbacks we see several cars driving with Christopher speaking with a smile, seems like a warm feel and like there is movement no issues at that point I almost wonder if the all came there for some cult like thing maybe the place was discover for some type of healing Maybe Vics Mum left Dad to follow this?? @@victorcritelli5790 I got this "cult" vibe too. There are many hints to this. The "star magic" motel name could mean that it's an occultism place or that it's an ideal place to watch the stars. But when Fatima and Julie look through the window at the night sky (ep 2 ) you can barely see a few stars (not as many as there should be) and even the shapes on the moon seem wrong. One lamp in Victor's room has stars on it. Also the official creation date of Chaos Magick is 1978, which relies on paradigm jumps : to over simplify, one day you could "worship" a fictionnal character from a book and the next day some other thing, as long as it's real for you it becomes reality. And we can see that it seems that lots of things happening here seem to be the firm beliefs of someone with a child's mind becoming true (monsters in the night who want to eat you, can't leave the town because for you the whole World is literally just the world you are familiar with, monsters taking the shape of people from your day to day life like the milk man or the teacher, even the cicadas fear). @@wildmarjoramdieselpunk6396 Exactly that's why I called it "official" plus the IOT creation, but I agree the idea existed before, they just created a methodology and tools.
@@berisilin1337 It could be a concept. I just haven’t seen any show with chaos magick as a thing. I barely have seen any Crowley stuff that was even remotely correct…that Jack Parsons TV show did it the best. It was on late night CBS…cannot remember the name of it. Pennyworth had a ceremonial magick scene too…I think.
I just watched this episode again and had an epiphany during Victor's flashback scene with the dog and the boy in white. The boy in white beckons young Victor to follow him and Victor does. Then the boy in white is on the merry-go-round and is still beckoning Victor to come to him. Then the boy in white disappeared. The next scene shows pictures on the wall of Victor's room. First, you see the boy in white, next a faraway tree. To me, that confirms that the merry-go-round is a portal and perhaps a way out.
I'm sticking with my theory that Fatima is Elpis, the Greek god of hope. And shes traping the evil forces in fromville/pandoras box. And the evil forces that are talking to them are saying "do this so we can ALL escape"
U see the only logical decision is for you to quit ur job and dedicate urself to making videos solving mysteries for us to watch. lol just kidding but if you make it I'm watching. I like what you do.
I thought Jade and Tobby are visiting an escape room of Tobbys invention and its a programmed game some how so maybe all of the people here are not present with there physical bodys, they might be sleeping somewhere and there are wires all over them connecting their minds togother😅😅
this is why I would not live in Colney house, can't let my life depend on the choices of man with a giant mustache, and no other facial hair, that's just weird
You mentioned all the people at FROMland are all from different places on the map… isn’t Kristi and her girlfriend Mari from the same place? I know the didn’t arrive at the same time, Mari arrived on the bus at the end of S1 Wouldn’t they be from the same place?
They have a weird relationship. Kristi says she has never been out of Grand Rapids…so Mari must have been working there and came from Detroit. But she says she was meeting her for lunch…so Mari had to come to Kristi? Plus, Grand Rapids is a city with over a million people in the outlying area…so it isn’t like Kristi has been isolated in a small town. I suppose Kristi was going to Grand Valley U for medicine. But there are other colleges there. Detroit is also vast…there is an area named Troy by it. Hell is also by it. Which Hell is from a German word and not meaning Hell from the Christian Bible, but know there is a cottage industry there with Hell themed merch and a place where you can get married in Hell or mayor of Hell for a day. It used to have a little library stocked with the Inferno and Rimbaud too! The putt putt there is great and they have wonderful walleye. But it’s weird Mari took a bus all the way to GR just for lunch…maybe their relationship was long distance…but they were getting married. But Kristi never met Mari in Detroit or her family or anything? Or just to hang out in Detroit and see the zoo or aquarium? That has always been confusing to me. But glad Michigan is getting From love, especially GR.
@@geekademy ..... I was looking into the dates on the wall... I found this using Chat GPT.... What do you think? The sequence of years 1506, 1609, 1672, 1752, 1864, 1931, 1978 does not immediately suggest a common historical event or pattern at first glance. However, there is a notable common thread related to a specific type of event that spans across these years: they are all years in which major astronomical or scientific observations were made or significant advancements were achieved. Here’s a closer look at the context for each year: 1506: The year when the famous astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus was born. Copernicus is known for his heliocentric model of the solar system, which significantly advanced the field of astronomy. 1609: Galileo Galilei made significant astronomical observations using the telescope he improved. This year is often associated with his first use of the telescope to observe celestial bodies, which provided strong evidence for the heliocentric model. 1672: This year is notable for the work of Isaac Newton in optics. Newton made important contributions to the understanding of light and color, which laid the foundation for modern optics. 1752: This year is significant for the adoption of the Gregorian calendar by Great Britain and its colonies. The switch from the Julian to Gregorian calendar was a major change in how time was standardized. 1864: The year James Clerk Maxwell formulated his famous equations describing electromagnetism, which are fundamental to understanding electromagnetic fields and waves. 1931: This year is associated with the development of quantum mechanics and the formulation of quantum theory by physicists such as Werner Heisenberg and Erwin Schrödinger, marking a significant shift in our understanding of atomic and subatomic processes. 1978: The year when the first successful test-tube baby (in vitro fertilization) was born, marking a significant breakthrough in reproductive medicine. So, the commonality among these years is that they are associated with major scientific or astronomical milestones that have significantly impacted our understanding of the world.

Reaching deep from the arse with this one
@@Heyithinkhejust haha, not really. Look up Elpis.
Not Fatima from the myth of Fatima.
There are two Jukeboxes, one on each 1st booth when you enter the diner.
Those are operator run, so the phone operator could play any song, not just those that are listed.
What do you mean, operator run? They look like regular table jukebox 's that diners all used to have
Such a polite greeting 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Just a note about the music boxes - they have multiple pages that flip over, so there are probably a lot more songs in them we're not seeing.
Thnx!:)
I am not sure if the old tabletop ones did. They were operated by phone operators.
U see the only logical decision is for you to quit ur job and dedicate urself to making videos solving mysteries for us to watch. lol just kidding but if you make it I'm watching. I like what you do.
That sounds like a dream :)
Gansta Victor gave me life 😂
the drawing of Julie by Victor is in the lunchbox tabitha takes to hospital. you can barely see it.
aw that's so sweet of him. He's the sweetest character, very thoughtful.
The booga boogq monster looks likeone of the angh- kooey kids to me
13:45 Except Michigan.
I thought Jade and Tobby are visiting an escape room of Tobbys invention and its a programmed game some how so maybe all of the people here are not present with there physical bodys, they might be sleeping somewhere and there are wires all over them connecting their minds togother😅😅
All the characters repeatedly end up in this town over and over for hundreds of years.
None of this is random.
this is why I would not live in Colney house, can't let my life depend on the choices of man with a giant mustache, and no other facial hair, that's just weird
Agreed! Virgin Mario need to be put in check
I cannot put my life in the hands in some amorous dude who falls in love with a monster and lets her in.
did they scalp the person next to the boy in white at 22:50??
❤
Has anyone followed the railroad tracks to see if that was a way out.
wait I thought Toby was Jade's bf, I guess I shouldn't just assume things.
You mentioned all the people at FROMland are all from different places on the map… isn’t Kristi and her girlfriend Mari from the same place? I know the didn’t arrive at the same time, Mari arrived on the bus at the end of S1 Wouldn’t they be from the same place?
I don’t remember exactly need to rewatch but I think the bus entered from a completely different place.
@@geekademy You’re right, the bus came in from Grand Rapids Michigan.
@@geekademy You’re right, the bus came in from Grand Rapids Michigan.

Here’s a closer look at the context for each year:
1506: The year when the famous astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus was born.
