Wow! Now that's a build. All the koi are stunning as well. My one and only thing i'd change is to hide the pipe at the back but other than that i am in awe.
Very nice pond build, really good workmanship. Its a credit to all your hard work. I know the effort that goes into this having built my own 3000 gallon pond very similar to yours last summer. Can I ask where did you source the clear perimeter sides you have fitted on top of the coping stones, I'm looking to do something similar this year to prevent the koi jumping out and also protection from herons. Regards Andy
Thanks Andy. I bought the perspex cut to size from bay plastics. I then bought some 80mm pvc bar and got a friend who has a CNC machine to mill the slots into them. 👍🏻
Awesome looking fresh build mate - what are the dimensions of the pond and how many gallons is it? Just about to build one myself and can’t decide on depth.
Hi, stunning pond, I am hoping to build a similar pond starting this spring and in the planning stage. One thing that struck me was how nice your cladding is on the outside wall. Can you tell me the name of the colour, the cost and where you got it from? New subscriber. Cheers mate!.Darren
Absolutely stunning pond mate I was wondering how much it would cost to fibreglass a pond that size as me and my son are in early planning to build a pond similar to yours but not sure if to fibreglass or liner cheers in advance
Thanks matey Yes laminated, toughened, heatsoaked, bevelled edge glass 25mm thick. Installation was as simple as putting a load of CT1 silicone round the edges and lifting it into place.
Hi mate, how long was the pond fibreglassed before you filled it? Wanted to order the window after fibreglassing to see the exact size of window needed, but have been told the pond needs filling near enough straight after fibreglassing to avoid rain water getting between concrete and fibreglass?
Hi, pond was filled within a couple of days of the fibreglass being finished. I can see where the advice is coming from but i really dont think it will make that much of a difference. Have you spoke to your fibreglasser about it? I would recommend EZponds if you havent sourced one yet. They do ponds all across the UK
Hi mate, just wondered if you could advise, building a pond similar size to yourself, was recommended using hollow blocks with rebar in between but will cost a fortune. Is there a reason you used solid blocks? Are they just as good and would hollow blocks filled with rebar and concrete be a complete over kill? Thanks
Hi mate Rebar will make it bombproof. However solid concrete 7n blocks are the main blocks used for koi ponds. Just make sure the mortar you get is 3-1 sand cement mix.
No idea to be honest, receipt is in the garage somewhere if i can find it! Haha I did a sub-base too using MOT1 and whacker plated it down for extra foundation support
Ali Mohamed if you check out my build video you will see how i created the frame. The pond was then fibreglassed then the glass was put into the fibreglass frame with CT1 to bond it
That is a nice and tidy pond. Good job
Absolutely stunning, and the garden, I could imagine many hours spent watching those beautiful koi,
Cheers fella 👍🏻
Wow! Now that's a build. All the koi are stunning as well. My one and only thing i'd change is to hide the pipe at the back but other than that i am in awe.
Thanks Dale. Yes the pipe needs adjusting still. One of the many little jobs to finish off 👍🏻

Awesome looking fresh build mate - what are the dimensions of the pond and how many gallons is it? Just about to build one myself and can’t decide on depth.
Hi mate, its 2.7m x 3.7m, 2500g. Regarding depth dont go over 6ft. Can cause swim bladder issues. Minimum needs to be 4ft
what a nice pond cracking
Fantastic pond great job a credit to you mate. How did you stick insulation to blocks with please cheers Colin
Cheers Colin
I used pink grip foam. Really good stuff

@@colinsharp1314 at the time i got it from wickes matey
Very nice build thanks for filming
May I ask how much did it cost you to build this pond? I really like this and looking to build one similar to yours.
Depending on spec and whether you do it yourself or get a builder in then you need to budget between £5000-£10000
great pond
Thanks Humphrey
Well worth the disruption, great job
Cheers Steven. Yes im over the moon with the finished result
Nice build 👌🏻 can I ask how thick your window glass is ? Thanks
Hi
Its 25mm thick

Hi mate, thanks for the kind comments. Its from marshalls, called stoneface drystack harvest, not cheap but a great effect, cost around £500
What thickness was the pond window you used
Hi Andrew
They are 25mm thick
Absolutely stunning pond mate I was wondering how much it would cost to fibreglass a pond that size as me and my son are in early planning to build a pond similar to yours but not sure if to fibreglass or liner cheers in advance
Thanks Craig. It cost me £900. Defo worth doing. Looks much better and very robust.
MAD ABOUT KOI! Yeah was definitely thinking of going down that route thanks again
Have a chat with Allan Gavin at EZ ponds. Top fibreglass guys. They do ponds nationwide
MAD ABOUT KOI! Brilliant mate Thanks
Hi. Great job and beautiful fish. Did you use laminated glass? And do you have a video of the glass installation?
Thanks matey

@@madaboutkoi thank you very much for replying.

MAD ABOUT KOI! No worries mate haha. Thanks again! Love watching the updates on your pond 👍
very smart m8
Nice pond buddy 😜
Thanks matey
How many tubes of sealant was needed for each window? Cracking job 👍
Cheers matey
I went daft with the sealant to make sure it would never leak. From memory between 10-15 in total for both windows
MAD ABOUT KOI! Thanks for the reply, got quoted a crazy amount from someone for a 6ft by 2ft window, they said I would need 18 tubes on it!
Where did you get the jump guard posts?
Hi
They are 80mm PVC bar from ebay with cnc machined 10mm slots
how deep is it and whats the lengh and the with
Just under 6ft deep. External dimensions are 3.7m x 2.7m
@@madaboutkoi 12 ft long x 9 ft wide 6 ft deep
Amazing build mate, just out of curiosity how much did the pond build cost?
Ermmmm...... a lot! Cheaper doing most of it yourself though. The fibreglass was £900 alone
Koi ponds - how to? Free advice and videos ahah looks spot on though mate, how many litres is it?
Bailey Robertson 11500 litres
great job. can i ask how didi u attach your glass?
Hi Ali
I used a silicone sealant called CT1. Fish safe and very good
MAD ABOUT KOI! MAD ABOUT KOI! Is it only silicone used between glass and wall?!
Ali Mohamed if you check out my build video you will see how i created the frame. The pond was then fibreglassed then the glass was put into the fibreglass frame with CT1 to bond it
