Neil Dellacroce : Your fuckin' life!

Neil Dellacroce : Be quiet! Sit down. I said, sit down! You know, I've clipped a lot of guys in my life. Close friends. Guys I didn't know. I didn't always agree that the guy should be clipped. But I never questioned the orders and I never went off half-cocked and clipped somebody I wasn't supposed to!
    John Gotti : Niel
Neil Dellacroce : Now, you shut up! You just listen. Big Paul went down to Don Carlo for permission to have you whacked. It came this close. I told Don Carlo you were like a son to me. That touched the old man. He told Paul to give you a pass. But if Don Carlo had said you gotta go, I would've come here today with these two zips and you would go. John, you cannot whack a made man on somebody else's crew! There are rules! You break the rules, and this whole goddamn thing of ours cracks and crumbles! You never break the rules. Capiche?
    John Gotti : Capiche.
Neil Dellacroce : Let's drink to that. Wipe your face John. You're sweating up a hundred dollar shirt. Don Carlo says you'll do some time. But he's gonna take care of your family. Here. La familia, and the rules that hold us together.

In 1996 when Gotti came out I was 17 years old and already a film buff since even before age ten when I started my movie collection (back then they were on VHS tapes) I was also big time into mafia movies. When Gotti came out on tape I went to the rental store to rent it but this was before blockbuster and the rental stores only had one copy, someone rented that one copy and never returned it lol. I remember wanting to see it so bad, Eventually I rented it at a different store and was blown away by this movie, it definitely went up there in my top 5 mob movies of all time, The Godfather 1-2, Goodfellas, Casino, Gotti. When I Re-watched Gotti again when I was older (I have the DVD in my mafia movies collection) by the way you said no one has anywhere to see this movie, I guess nowadays everyone thinks streaming is the only way to watch a movie, you can simply go to amazon and by the DVD, they have the movie with the subtitle - Gotti: The Rise and Fall of a Real Life Mafia Don. When I watched this movie as an adult I was blown away again not only by the movie but by Armand Assante's fearless performance, This was a small movie made for HBO not a big budget movie but Armand Assante's performance is one of the best performances of all time as john Gotti and the thing is alot of people don't even know it exists, Armand Assante gives a fearless performance very similar to Marlon Brando's performance in A Streetcar Named Desire which is the best performance in film history, Brando is 100% fearless, he doesn't care about anyone or anything in that performance and that is power. It's insane to watch and very rare to see, even great actors sometimes don't give a performance like that their whole career, of course Brando did it about 4 times, maybe more but never like he did in Streetcar, well Armand Assante gives what is reminiscent of Brando's fearless performance, the character doesn't have a care in the world, he is so powerful he does what he wants, that is a treat to see from an actor and that's when you know an actor has talent, of course its so rare I don't think it was ever duplicated from Assante, but the whole cast fit together like a puzzle piece, when I watch the real Sammy the bulls UA-cam videos I don't even think of him as Sammy the bull I think of William Forsythe, these actors were so good I think they played Gotti and Sammy better then they could have play themselves, Anthony Quinn worked with Brando in Viva Zapata! as for the Travolta Gotti movie, there is other Gotti movies made, I realize Armand Assantes Gotti is the premier Gotti movie so I didn't mind another Gotti movie but the Travolta movie was horrible, the only decent thing was Travolta himself as Gotti, he gave a decent performance but if you compare it to Armand Assante's performance as Gotti Travolta's is gonna look second rate.

Wow! I’ve randomly stumbled on this interview. I must admit, I did not expect this to be as informative and powerful as it is. I mean this is by far one of the best interviews I’ve ever watched in my life. This man is such a brilliant and rare talent. I truly feel inspired to continue to better my position in life. Thank you guys for allowing me to be blessed with this gentleman’s knowledge and will to succeed in life. The story about his mother was also one of the most inspiring stories you will ever hear. Make the world a better place then when you were initially put here. Along the way, make memories and conquer this journey called life. One love guys!!💯💯💯❤️❤️❤️🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Armand Assante is a true LEGEND! All of his roles, and different characters were extremely accurate and realistic. Felt like watching the real person/character and not an actors portrayal of a character. Truly gifted wonderful human being we are lucky to have in this world, & our lifetime. God Bless him and his family & happy holidays everyone 🙏

What a great guy. When he said Anthony Quinn is a very underrestemated actor I thought you are as well..and yes nobody could have played Gotti like him. Humble and intelligent man, great to hear him speak about life. Thanks for this interview!

He is more Gotti than Gotti himself, the Gotti of John Travolta was a travesty. Not worth watching. Armand Assante is a very underrated actor.Wonderful to see him, not sure how he is in real life, nice or jerk.

Asante was the best actor in his prime should have had more roles. He killed that role in gotti. That was the best performance ive seen ever. Legendary podcast!

Loved this interview! One of the things I learned from watching movies has been the importance of the writing. The acting is the cherry on the cake. I was facinated by all the actors in "Q &A" . The acting og Assand and Nick Nolte and the writing as well. And yes..
its true all the things one absorbs and comes away with being from a mecca city like New York. Thank you.
