It's a really weird thing, but when you watch someone weekly even though you don't know them, you feel like you start to. It becomes part of your routine, and like a friend checking in with you and sharing life every week. Even though you're a stranger. I have really enjoyed your videos, and will tune in for any future ones :) but bottom line, I'm just really glad you're okay. I was definitely worried for a while when you disappeared and I checked comments often to see if anyone knew. I completely understand you needing to disappear, and you owe us nothing. Again myself, and I'm sure many others, just got used to you being part of our lives and we were worried you might not be okay

Being an artist myself, i truly understand what you're going through. I'm a seamtress and i love sewing gowns and also creating dolls. I'm my worst critic and perfection is a must. If I'm not satisfied with a product, i become depressed. No matter how others compliment, it doesn't work for me. I finally said "enough is enough " i had to focus on my well being. In my mind i was still creating but the passion wasn't there. Fast forward, it has been years before i felt that passion coming back and now I'm on a roll, only this time, i know when to take a mental break. Dalia, you got this and I'm proud for you. Just take your time.❤
I am an artist, is really good to open ways to express yourself, but there is not a mental place of total confidence to start creating. Or maybe yes, when you accept there is not perfection or right moment to do it so you just go ahead with what you feel like doing at that pointing time. Every stage of life has something to inspire you, or calls you to create in one way or another. When you are an artist is good to forget about people and be selfish, listen to your inside and let yourselve enjoy expressing what you feel like, there is not possible mistake when you do that, because is inside you, so its real, when you love what you créate it becomes gold for you no matter what people think about it. I love everything you have done, but because of the energy you do it with ❤
I honestly don't expect a video weekly from UA-camrs that I have subscribed to. Because they are ppl and have lives outside of UA-cam as well. So if they post a video cool, I'll watch it but I'm not chomping at the bit and leaving crazy comments asking someone I dont know why they haven't made a video. The nerve of some ppl. And I think shorts have hurt some UA-camrs more than help them. Ppl have short attention spans and will mindlessly flip through shorts absorbing a bunch of crap rather than watch actual awesome content. So I get it. I would take a break too. Love your videos, no matter the pace you put them out.
Dalia! I’m so happy to see you in my feed. I have enjoyed your videos so much. As an avid YT watcher since 2010 I have seen many a content creator get burned out or start churning out repetitive uninspired videos. I’m glad you recognized what does and does not serve you in this moment and took decisive action. I will keep notifications on. When you show up I will be happily watch. Late to the comments, but thank you for being so vulnerable! I (Sachiko) too spent a lot of time in therapy last year working through childhood trauma and that required all of my space. Without space, I couldn't create -- I couldn't even string together a coherent sentence. Rebuilding that space, expanding on it, takes time (and not to mention the backdrop of simply existing and living through the constant changes of life). Anyway, proud of you for putting this out

Hey Dalia! I am one of those weekly watchers and I don’t know why (because obviously I don’t reallllly know you) but I care about you as a person, as an overseas friend. I guess it feels like I understand/know you because your videos have a very personal touch. I like that a lot. And I am sure your viewers will want to keep up with whatever you put out, just like me. Your plans sound cool and when you talk about them, you get a big smile on your face! which I have learnt means that it genuinely makes you happy to think about. I just wanna say good luck with everything and don’t feel bad about not posting videos, I’ll still be watching even if it’s five years from now. Take care and take time!

Take the time you need for yourself. It’s a growth thing that everyone needs and you will be better for it. Your followers will be here when you are ready to show your creativity again but don’t rush yourself. Take the time you need to grow as an artist in all your designs as you will be better for it. Keep a journal of your ideas as they come while your absent so you don’t forget them and you will have something to look back on when your blank.

Thank you for sharing this with all of us. I was wondering if you all have ever considered building or living in the Mediterranean ( italy or spain) since you enjoyed your time there so much? Also, It would be interesting to see the land buying-- the planning or acquiring phases as a series as well as even a video on your creative process for shorts. I guess what I am saying is we dont have to always see you build something or DIY just living your life and truth is just as great and ispirational.
I won't see ya on Instagram, but will appreciate when you do occasionally post long form here, regardless of the span of time between each 😊. (Sorry, I'm just not a fan of shorts or short form, which is why I'm here on UA-cam)

I respect where you are sweetheart and I love your channel. I do see more shorts but me personally I like videos. I believe it's a faze and people will go back to videos. I can't learn anything in 30sec 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 my mind doesn't work that way. I'm happy you are doing the work needed on YOU. It's alot to deal with mentally and emotionally I've done that as well. It takes a lot out of us but you will come out of this like a beautiful butterfly 🦋 spreading your new wings and going in a much better direction ♥️
Great reflection, I think you want to own a home. Renting is great for some people (I would never look down on renting) But some people need to own their own home because it gives them full control over everything. I saw my girl friend transform; she took pride in the design and it opened up a different side to her. Sadly, our generation is missing out on this experience. All the best, try not to be too hard on yourself!

Dalia, I love that you want to focus on design and creativity. I feel like being on social media is taking away my creativity due to comparing myself to others. Taking a break is always good. It’s sort of a reset and reminder of why you started in the first place. Can’t wait to see what the future hold for you ! 💕
I agree. Plus for me it’s a time sucker which doesn’t help the creativity.
i have noticed other content creators seem to be having similar struggles lately and are either slowing down with posting or even pivoting in a different direction. a youtuber i follow said she was getting away from partnerships that don’t align with her values and that has made things more difficult for her business but she is personally happier. not easy to do this thing and maintain a life balance, it seems.
@@vickyb9918 yes! 100 percent. I personally have stopped posting for a bit because I was getting anxious and found myself always online on IG. And I don’t even have many subscribers or partnerships lol The pressure to create is real and then you have the algorithm or the results do not show for the amount of work it takes to put a video together.
@@hideTurtle oh it’s real. Like I said, I’m technically an inspiring content creator but also a perfectionist so I stopped for now until I can figure out how to balance my life a bit more. I do have a full time job outside of this after all so it’s let’s pressure to be online, I just do it because I love showing my creative side though that outlet. There is a creator I follow that only posts once per month and I never miss that one video. So the good thing is that it’s flexible in the sense that you could find what works for you and your audience like what Dalia is trying to do.
Your focus on creativity and its alignment with hacking made me think of the Netflix show Hack My Home. You are capable of thinking creatively and bridging that with your DIY hacking skills. It will be so exciting to see how that looks uniquely for you and I look forward to viewing future videos with your newly developed creative skills. I used to be a UA-camr. It didn't match my personality and I started hating getting on camera but I had a contract with a company and it was becoming super toxic. I've learned that as much as working 9-5 isn't super fun. My mental health is so happy about having a stable income. And now if I want to go back to UA-cam I could do it for fun rather than a necessity to survive..... just sharing so you know ur not alone and its ok to do whatever is best for you.
I remember coming across your videos from your apartment earlier days on how-to design when renting. I said that to say, "I really enjoy all of your ideas and creations. I get in my moments when I don't want to view or hear the "talking aspect "...I don't ask people questions on their whereabouts. I GET IT! I, too, am struggling with so much. Many blessings ❣️
Sweetheart, firstly it’s lovely to see you. Please just take a breath and relax. You’ve built a lovely community here and those of us that are loyal “fans” are happy to wait until you’re ready. I’ve learned so much from you and I adore you as a person and admire your creativity but please, please don’t put so much pressure on yourself to pop out videos. I’d rather have a video from you once a month or couple of months and have *you* happy and healthy than watch you every week getting more and more unhappy, struggling, burned out or whatever. Im.been you subscribed for so long that I have to said I really missed your videos. But Liked I told you in my prior coment your heath is first. But please trust your self, your doing a beautiful job and you a real youtuber, somebody that we can be influenced and keep falling. Keep you good job. I know UA-cam can be a hustle but it’s not as easy for some people as others think. I tried and it’s a lot of work especially if you’re working on your own. I think that’s why shorts and reels are such a huge hit because they’re much easier than full videos. Either way, take care of yourself. Thank you for the update.

I think this video should of happened sooner. I know what it is to have burn-out. Im still recovering from it and its been since 2016. Its not healthy to drag it on, its best to just say it. I wish someone told me that before I left it too late. Rather than saying "No", I say
"not yet or not ready" Your not alone. So many other influencers have stepped away. They just said they were taking a break and will be back sometime in the future. Thats it..I know your not like that but maybe, just maybe you may need to be like that, for your own well being. Unfortunately you may lose some viewer's but when it comes to your well-being and your loved ones, its insignificant. Be kind to yourself as well🙏💙
So many UA-camrs are quitting. Some just put it out there and say, “ we are being paid a tenth of what we were for long videos with NO warning from UA-cam”. The viewers forget that the HOURS of filming and editing IS a job and it’s not worth taking that much time out if your life and making NOTHING. Some just sugar coat it with burnout and time out. The things UA-cam is doing to content creators is simply WRONG!

UA-cam has been really pushing shorts to compete with tik tok. What I don't like about it is there is no way to get from the short to the long video. I've noticed some people comment with a link to the long video. I've thought about doing a channel, but then I hear from people I follow, like you, that the algorithms and who knows what else that UA-cam puts in your way, that it takes the joy out of trying to get your content seen.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Moving forward i suggest you start another channel specifically for the issues you talked about regarding mental health, ADHD etc. Leave this channel for all your creativity. To be honest, I don’t like the mixing. I subscribed to DIY Dalia and that’s what I prefer. If I want a dose of the other subjects, I can go there. As for the shorts, I pretty well never watch any shorts. They seem like rehashing of long videos already uploaded and viewed.
Appreciate your perspective and understand that lots of people only watch my channel for diy and creativity. But despite my channel name, this channel is a conglomeration of whatever inspires me at any time. Sometimes I feel really inspired to share about mental health or adhd and sometimes it’s about something I make. I did test the idea of creating a separate channel but am continuously led back to having just one. Hopefully I’ll have diy videos that interest you soon :)
I really don’t understand the algorithm. Why doesn’t the content we all subscribe to automatically show up in our feed? To me there’s no need for an algorithm. If I subscribed to the channel flipping show it to me !
