Viral Vehicles Please make your next video when you hit 100,000 subscribers talking about it. PS, NICE👌 video and I totally agree that Mitsubishi has gone deaf and blind for the enthusiasts by killing off the Lancer, hence the Evo. BTW, try to talk in a future video about Indian 🚗 companies please because that's where I live.
my thoughts exactly... in the 70s - 90s they made the most amazing and beautiful rally cars (stratos, 037, Delta S4, integrale etc.)... now they're just rebadged chryslers...
a freaking meerkat yea but the last model looked like doodoo by comparison, ik the v6 is sick cause of the big power but you can’t never go wrong with a spooly boi
The new mk5 eclipse doesn't look like the previous 4 generations. I feel like they made an ugly suv type thing, and I can't believe they did that! Who's with me on this? So yeah, I agree RIP Eclipse!
@name name lol. When I saw it I was confused, like "that's not an eclipse", so then I Googled it and there I saw it was indeed. I was horrified, scarred for life! I honestly wished they would have gone in a different direction and keep the shape but modernize it like Toyota did with the Supra, and kinda like Nissan did with the Fairlady Z generations so far, and the Nissan GTR generations. But Mitsubishi had to go down the road they went 🤦♂️🙈🤔
TECH TOP 10 Basically confirmed their new suv concept is called the evo it's just a matter of if they'll actually make it or not. With how popular suvs and EVs are these days, it's basically a guarantee this ev suv will be made.
Today i saw a lancer evo X running down the street and it just made me sad because it reminded me of what they do today and that suv concept :( #bringbacktheEVO!
He has wrong with mazda because they will bring back the rotary motor and they already keeped here zoom zoom slogan. That why I love mazda they never change 😍
Saab never lost their way. That was the reason. GM pulled the plug. While they did have to use the GM platforms they did NOT make any rebadges (They had nothing to do with the 9-2x and 9-7x). Saab stuck to their shit until the very end
True, not like Saab never previously used parts or collaborated with other makes before GM. Using the Ford V4 in the 96, an initially triumph designed and built slant 4 in the 99 and of course the 9000 was co-developed with fiat, the problem was that GM infiltrated and messed with Saab and ruined them in the process
Agreed. This year's Tokyo Motor Show was just more evidence of that. No update on the 370Z, no RX-#, no Supra, no answered prayers for more power in the BRZ/86 or Miata, and no S2000 (instead an electric sports car concept that won't see production). When was it that Japan lost their passion? Their only good cars are also relatively slow in a straight line.
Alessandro Tomasini cazzo la lancia andava da dio qualche decennio fa. Delta, stratos... Ora c'è quella merda della ipsolon, la delta fa schifo e boh non fanno più un cazzo
Although the Delta Intregale is one of my all time favourite cars and one of the most iconic cars of all time I don't think Lancia ever had a positive reputation. Apart from the Delta Intregale the rest of the range they offered was so bad in the UK they had to pull out of the market all together. They were ridiculously unreliable and began to rust before dealers could even sell them.
@@craigseddon4884 you are forgetting that historically it was not always like that. Before Fiat days they actually had quite a good name for quality. Also they were a hugely innovative company for a very long time and really their importance was far greater than their sales numbers would indicate.
The Ford Falcon is waaaayyy too old lol. The new couldn't live to the expectations of its predecessor, so it was a shame tbh. I'm looking forward to the new Torino, though is awful in looks.
I had one, try pt cruiser buddy. toyotas are wonderful reliable cars. pt cruisers are not. priuses bottom out in turns tho, but last a hell of a long time.
Всеволод Алипов Lancia are the best company in history. I'm actually surprised that some other car company hasn't tried to reboot it. Given, idk if id like it or not, they'd have to do a really good job to make me like Lancia to fit the modernized world or if id rather see Lancia as a classic
lego technic yea indeed I'm a huge Honda fan but let's face it the new cars don't even have V-Tec and the "k20" used on the new cars like civic type r isn't a k20 on my opinion
My Patents: Dont buy such a expensive Car. Me: I must! This is the last it cool Car of misubishi! So I bought a 2014 Lancer CY9A 1.8 DID+ In EU the new Lancer arent sell :(
Definitely Mercedes. And yes, I'm saying that as a German. Some time ago, they built the toughest cars on earth (for example my favorite, the W124 E-Class). Now they've got a lineup of cars which all look exactly the same (and ugly, imo), they are copying cars from BMW (like the GLE Coupe) and Rebadging Renaults and Nissans. They are making some of the least practical cars ever (like that dreadful GLA and CLA). Also, their new models are just way too overstyled, with fake exhaust covers etc. Gone are the times of simple, classy lines as on the older models. Also, one other thing that's really annoying me: Mercedes was never cheap - but nowadays, they've become exactly like Apple: You pay a sht load of money just for the logo, for the lifestyle. Even if it's actually just a Renault Kangoo you're driving around in, with a Pizza-sized star slapped onto the front.
The Stig`s German Cousin - I agree with you 100% Mercedes have lost their identity. In most of their modern day line up if you covered up the badges many people will think it is a Korean or Japanese car.
Mazda should not be part of the list. They still keep true to their zoom zoom philosophy .....they are safe, beautiful, great handling cars... Drivers who love driving, love Mazda.
JAB Mazda is really coming back now. Especially bringing turbocharged Mazda6’s from factory. But I do agree Mazda has taken a huge dip. I like old Mazda better personally. I just want another rotary :(
I still have yet to find a proper answer as to why the Japanese automakers have generally stopped making the kind of inexpensive fun-to-drive performance and sports cars they were well known for making in the 80s and 90s (and early 00s in some cases)...
I think it's connected to the disappearance of 2 door cars, in general. Sports coupes used to be something that "ordinary" people used to buy a lot, but then when SUV's got really popular, 2 door cars started dying off left and right. There was even a period where Chevy decided to stop building the Camaro, only reversing their decision a few years later due to overwhelming demand for the car.
Except Subaru’s ascent honestly. Totally different engine and design than the competition. Interior is insanely nice compared to the competition in my opinion as well.
well... They bassically only make an ugly version of the Fiat 500, called the Ypsilon, and the brand is only used In Italy, i suppose i can only agree they have gone downhill, because every time i see a Ypsilon(its marketed as Chrysler here in the UK) i get exicted, for what is a really boring car, so they maybe should have had a place on this list
Viral Vehicles Not in Germany... For years, the Ypsilon has been the only one for sale here, but now they've cut that one off as well... In Italy, that's still one of the Top 3 best selling cars, though xD
Farhan Said You had a point though. But, Mitsubishi needs performance cars. It's rival the Subaru made great cars ti'll today. But Mitsubishi in the other hand, had no more appeal, the mean looks of their predecessors are gone. And the great performance is also gone. The Evo X and the predecessors can be driven without any hazards.
Where is Ford USA. They are discontinuing all their sedans and hatchbacks and they are trying to compensate for that by making these crappy sport SUVs.
@@boosackNooDoe wasn't it because of sales? From what I remember at least, it was because apart from the ones they didn't discontinue, the others didn't sell as well or something along those lines
@@endmeplzzz3593 lol, my bad for assuming trash talk. I think your not entirely wrong. I don't know the whole story really. I just assumed ford hurr durr.
@@boosackNooDoe nah you're good, yea I'm not 100% sure exactly why they discontinued them, but from what I heard it had to do with the sales, either way they probably could've kept a few of them
It's not the manufacturers but the consumers that shape the market. Times changed, nobody wants those awesome cars anymore. Now people care for safety, comfort and stylish design. Times of awesome cars are gone. I hope it's not for good :(
Nathaniel Bennett You would assume correctly. It's all about "safety" nowadays. Instead of teaching people proper road manners, cars are being designed to cope with aggressive driving and dangerous situations. None of this would be necessary if everyone obeyed the rules and respected each other.
ahh, the good old days, what manufacturers cared about fun and driving and not MPG. I think Mazda right now is kinda sorta what Honda used to be, still offering manuals in many models along with good handling (at least in the US)
I heard that Mazda is planning on releasing Mazda rx9 so Mazda is good. Unfortunately Honda has NSX and Civic anymore though new Type R civic sounds awesome with it's 300hp turbocharged engine.
You have to remember that Japanese car companies during the 90s made a mutual, not official agreement, that their cars were very fast and people were using them for illegal street racing, which people considered dangerous, so the japan car companies stopped making really fast cars.
Robert Ocampo their gt86 is pretty good for enthusiasts. Granted no where near as good as the likes of supra and Celia but a very good car none the less.
George Gear they have the GT86 and the new Toyota/BMW Supra (FT-1) coming in 2018 or 19, though I agree Toyota isn’t what it used to be, at least not at this moment, and the new Supra seems to raise many questions, even though its only based on rumors, as nothing has been confirmed yet, engine wise. It looks great though.
what about Toyota I m a huge supra fan but now the only car that they manufacture I think is cool is the gt 86 they have went downhill massively at least in my opinion
I agree totally with you, the innovation of japanese cars, approx. from 1985's to 1995s was incredible, designs(sticked windows to car body) , big glasses or lights, but when they were doing that the cars surface was totally smooth...very low sporty riding position, 16 valve high revving 4 cylinder super smooth and reliable engines, power mirrors, windows, very good handling and suspension design, very well screwed cars...the only disadvantage was awful crash safety ratings and very thin metal sheets at car body and cheap feeling plastical surfaces at interior....and peugeot at 80s and ealy 90s it was a symbol of sporty european front wheel drive car...after 406 and 307 i was very disappointed, it lost all the soul of handling and high revving engines...at least japanese motorcycles are still keeping their character and innovation :-)
AP1704 ML , why would you disagree? Motorcycles have transformed into spaceships! Just look at the Ninja H2. No one was doing anything of that caliber in the 80s or 90s. The difference between a 2005 and a 2018 zx10r or cbr1000rr is tremendous with all the new technology. Sure the power hasn't changed much but if power is what you're looking for that's why they make the bigger bikes like the zx14 and h2 now. Japanese motorcycles have just gotten better and better since the 90s. We are living in a glorious age of motorcycles.
Almost all new cars are boring and ugly , the ones that aren't require you to be a rich person . That's why i drive old cars that still have style and soul .
Mistubishi's Downfall is one of the saddest for fans because Theres a ton of good cars that Mitsubishi used to make: - GTO -Starion -Eclipse -Galant -And Last the *Evo* Good cars But a Funky Company full of bad decisions.
LANCIA!!!! They used to be the kings of gorgeous raspy enthusiast cars, like the Stratos, Gamma, Monte Carlo, 037 and Delta Integrale. Now they make boring hatchbacks.
Yes they have, at least in America. Until this year the only sports car they had was a FWD variant on a regular compact car, and even then it only had 205hp, basically matching the lowest tier of performance from other brands. Ford has two of the same, plus a standalone performance car the Mustang, and a supercar the GT. Now Honda is moving in the right direction, but still the type R is the only affordable sports car and is again FWD based on the civic. The NSX is fast, but frankly overpriced and over complicated.
Civic and accord are their only front runners. As far as the fit, crz, hrv, crv, pilot and ridgline, well they are lame and even worst is the Acura line that is selling the same basic shit as honda with an A badge and higher pricetag...wtf? 😂😂😂
In North America, Honda lives off its (mostly undeserved) reputation. Current models are unimpressive at best. I once rented a brand new automatic Civic, and it was a terrible, terrible car... Slow, unresponsive, clumsy, unrefined. It felt like driving a downgraded Golf from the previous reputation. No wonder Honda sales are a rounding error in Europe...
GM has become the world's leading experts on how to beg for government bailouts instead of engineering great cars and winning customers. Even their trucks suck now. God knows why anyone buys their garbage anymore.
GM, Ford, & the other American brands (along with Toyota in Japan), lost their way decades ago & have been churning out boring vehicles ever since! It's no wonder so many sheeple want self-driving cars!
Ceiran AllenWright Which ones do you think? I'm thinking Kia, since their style has improved considerably, and they're expanding into the enthusiast market with the Stinger GT. Ferrari, while they've always made fantastic cars, they've really settled into making consistently good performance cars now. Ford has been really reaching out to the enthusiast market, with the off-road capable Raptor, the sheer fun of the Focus RS, the Mustang and it's Shelby variants drive fantastically if you aren't some 18 year old who got one as a birthday present, and the new GT. Can't think of the other two for now.
To be honest the FTO was awful. It had the look of a JDM car, but the 1.8 or 2.0 was absolutely horrendous. That shit ass thing was even slower than a 2003 - 2007 honda accord (in fact their quick for their engine, I've done 120 mph in one of them, 2.2 diesel as well)
Ford's cars are more reliable than Mazda's. I know a person that bought a 84'Mazda B2000 in 1988, and had a lot of problems within a year. The engine (1970cc l4) was way too small, and the rest was ok. I had a 1995 Ford ranger 4.0L V6 with a Mazda transmission. The transmission was hard to put to the first gear.
1betterthanyou1 mazdas were good until the mid 90’s they started using cheap metal since then and still r that’s why they rust a lot I will never buy one again bc 2 years after I had my 2010 Mazda 3 it had rust already even around the fenders like wtf I had to sell it before it was too late bro I’m not joking they’re worst then the Jeep wranglers when it comes into rust issues I’m starting to think they’re also worst then hummers’ 😂😂😂 just saying
The problem is caused part by stupid customers and part by regulation. Manufacturers used to have a broad lineup: Small economy cars, mid-sized 4 doors, sporty coupes, luxury limos and a off-road / SUVs. But today, all the idiot soccer-moms buying only SUVs and crossovers and everyone else wanting "moar luxury and space" pushed the manufacturers towards making only bigger, luxury filled cars / crossovers and dropping lightweight enthusiast cars. Also, regulations force manufacturers to add a shitton of safety features and crumple zones to the designs making them heavy and big as well. Now add some "engine downsizing" for fuel economy and you have heavy cars without power! Over the past few years, how many former small cars have turned into huge piles of metal (Honda Civic, VW Golf, Ford Focus) and how many new small cars have popped up only to be "crossovered" up in size (Fiat 500 L, Mini Countryman)? For me THIS is the problem. If every linup had a coupe or hot hatch, instead of 5 crossovers and maybe they would shave off weight for fuel economy instead of reducting power, the automotive world would still not be as great as in the 80s and 90s, but there would at least be a good variety for us car guys.
Honestly, I woudl replace Mazda and Honda with brands such as Citroën and Maserati. Citroën used to do world class cars (Traction Avant, the mind-blowingly good DS for instance) and after the SM, it went rather downhill. Nowadays, they even sold their patents for the hydropneumatic suspension system which was pretty much their best quirk (I have a friend who owns an old CX and he actually accelerates when a speed bump comes, because it oddly works better at higher speeds. You feel absolutely nothing as the whole car stays perfectly levelled, only the wheels move). Nowadays, they try to sell overdesigned cars or boring ones with the same shitty engines that you can find in a modern Peugeot and shitty finishing like dreadful and squeeky plastics. That brand was always quircky, with some interesting design choices, but it did work very well as long as quality was there. Now, it feels just bland and pretentious. Maserati fares even worse in my opinion. Those cars always had some ridiculousness in them. Early Ghiblis were fancy deathtraps with the good old Italian madness you could find in transalpine cars of this era. It means they were a total hoot and are still pretty much legendary cars. This incredibly, has grim consequences. Nowadays, they are pretty much a scam. You will find the same kind of finishing as a Chrysler in your Quattroporte for the price tag of a luxury car. To justify that price, they will put their Trident about everywhere to exploit the most their brand image, even if the end product is really lackluster. As a brand, Maserati is something about prestige, and a little bit of craziness. Under no circumstances they should sell Chrysler parts within a $100,000 price tag. Want a sports sedan? Buy an Alfa Giulia Quadrifoglio instead. It costs less, has a better motor and actually better finishing. And it's every bit as good looking, if not more. If a "5 car brands that got better" video ever comes, I would expect Alfa Romeo to be there since they significantly upped their game with the current generation. And they also have the sports credentials and history to boot with.
It's weird about how big the Gap with bugatti's timeline while atleast Lamborghini was just jumping around with company owners and ferrari (from my knowledge) wasn't really thrown around much.
Spot on with regards to Honda. I used to have a Honda civic 20 years ago which was a great car. I hired the latest model from Avis last year, and was amazed to see that literally no development has taken place in the last 20 years. While everybody else has been improving their cars Honda have stood still.
The 1990s were not only a golden era for the JDMS but also for the whole world. You had the FCs ,FDs, EG6s, Silvias, 240Sx, 300ZX, GTRS, 2JZ Supras, the Sleighty, the NSXs, the Subbies and the EVOs. The JDMs literally downgraded from the 2000s tbh. Ask anyone about the golden era and the answer will be the 1990s when it comes to racing, drifting and rallying. And even though I love subarus I mourn for the death of the EVO. :'(
If you mention Honda you also have to mention Toyota (excluding their Lexus division). However, sports cars don't make these companies money. Honda made well handling cars with incredible engines like the F20C, K20, B-series, and J-Series (still in production) to build their reputation. In the end, both Toyota and Honda make SUV's and family haulers because that's were the money is. Personally, Mercedes Benz and BMW have are far too unreliable. BMW makes great engines but installs BS into their products like plastic VANOS systems that are a reliability nightmare. Nissan would be a lot stronger if they did just one thing: got rid of their CVT transmissions. Mazda hasn't really strayed. They have the engines and platforms to produce some really great cars. Recently, they released a turboed version of the Mazda-6. Hell, their engines with 14:1 compression ratios is something that I would of expected from Honda. Ferrari, I feel isn't the company it used to be. Porsche, Lamborghini, and McLaren have stole a lot of their lime light. They're not really sitting the standard benchmarks anymore.
I was expecting to see Toyota on here. They used to have the Supra, 2000GT, MR2, and even the Celica but now the only enthusiast car they really have is the FRS and its nowhere near the level of their old lineup. Maybe the upcoming Supra will revive their heritage but for now they are just a grandma car company.
But, Toyota GT86 (FRS) is all about handling though. It's never meant to be really fast car. That's why they didn't put turbo on it and let you modify it by yourself
Actually they did confirm an RX-7 rebuild that will have a rotary which, waitfor it...., will be used as a generator for the electric motor and I'm not even joking. -_-
Another remarkable downgrade: Citroën. The 1995-ish Xantia Activa is a reigning champion of the elk swerve test, it has just about the highest cornering stability of any vehicle ever. But the smart hydraulic suspension that first made its rounds in the legendary Citroën DS and that made this possible was dialled back down over the years and finally discontinued entirely in Citroën vehicles. But PSA's loss is in part Ford Cologne's gain. You can recognise some of the dynamics of the Peugeot vehicles of old in the more recent small Ford models. Also: Lancia, remember when they made vehicles that were any good?
"Citroen was never good car. Shitty design" Yeah, so shitty was the hydro-pneumatic suspension of the Citroen DS that *Mercedes* and *Rolls Royce* manufactured it under license and paid Citroen royalty money. So bad was Citroen the Traction Avant was the first uni-body (monocoque) car in history and which is how all cars are made today. So bad is Citroen that they are the most successful brand in rally and won 9 straight titles with Sebastian Loeb. The Citroen DS was one of the most innovative designs ever. It had an instrument panel completely formed in one piece of vinyl. Revolutionary at its time. Standard today but Citroen made it first. You know *nothing* N-O-T-H-I-N-G Be quiet about things you have no clue about. Kid.
Siana Gearz Omg I'm so happy to have found your comment so far up. I'm driving a Xantia Activa V6 and the pure amount of fun I've had with it is just indescribable. Soooo many modern Audis, BMWs, Japanese sportscars and even Porsches went from jostling in my backmirror to tiny little toys after a corner or two. Unbelievable stability that even saved my life once, I think (dodging cars on the autobahn while going 200, every other car I drove wouldn't even come close to reacting like that) Though, I have the privilege of having my dad, who maintains Citroëns, especially Activa, for a living. Otherwise this car would be too expensive for me. There's a LOT of unique technology in this car. Other cars seem like lifeless Bobby cars to me. The most fun part - and also saddest part at the same time is, no one nowadays expects this from a Citroën. People have no interest in good cars/technology anymore. They just want the cool modern design and inductive phone chargers, it seems.
Proton: We should make Chinese SUV Car Perodua: Hah sound embarrassed to you, i'll make Japanese-Malaysian Car for successful car in Malaysia Proton: ''embarrassing" Perodua: Great, you need to joined the Mitsubishi Proton: Mkae
Yes, you buy nowadays Mitsubishi or Honda - plain and simple 4 Cylinder, no Turbo, no 4WD, no Automatic, and problem wise you completely forget that you have a car, because they are the most reliable cars ever made. Changing oil every 7.000 km and running scheduled mainentances gives you continous run for 500.000 and more Km on the hour without any problems. Not like shitty "fun" cars to drive, which for every 3 hours on the road, require 3 hours in the service. When you have a job which requires thousands of kilometers per month, nothing even comes close to Mitsubishi and Honda in the reliability territory.
I owned a 2010 or 11 mazda 6 with the 4 cylinder & 6 speed manual. It wasn't very fast but had good torque & gearing. With proper tires it was a blast for what it was. New manual 6's can still be found in the states but they are rare.
Soon to be added to the list, Vauxhall/Opel now that PSA (Peugeot and Citreons owners) have acquired the brand from GM. Vauxhall had really been getting back into its grove with the Astra K (which I own in the 1.6T 200ps model which is a true sleeper of a car) and Insignia B model with some really great Ecotec engines and solidly put together cars. However, given we've not seen a GSi or VXR version of the Astra (give it's 3 years into its production run now) and PSA are moving to standardise the range to use PSA part (like on the new Corsa), Vauxhall will just end up being re-badged Peugeot with worse engine plants, crappy electrics and just bad build quality.
Pakartad just that no S chassis,EVO,eclipse,RX series and you must know GTR is expensive 370Z price is raised up right now BRZ/86 is fine but no update STI is less agressive right now they are softer type R just only one performance honda with reasonable price and that it long time ago we have many choice JDM and many of them is cheap but still have descent peformance and fun
Its just because I have a 208 and it is plain boring. decent power in the diesel version packing a whopping 93hp........meh.... and I dont like newer cars in general. theyre too industrialized
You're judging the GTi version based on having a low tier model (and diesel)? That's kind of non-sensical. A 208 base model is a whole different thing to the 208 GTi by Peugeot Sport on paper alone. One has 115 HP (I4 1.6 Petrol Engine version), the other one has around 200HP. One has a Limited Slip Differential, the other one doesn't. One does 0-100 in around 6.5 seconds and the other one does not. One has stiffer suspension, the other one does not. It's like comparing the baseline Ford Focus to the Ford Focus RS. They're two completely different beasts (and not because I drove any of those cars, but because you just look at the specs and its one huge dead giveaway). They all do have electronic assisted steering, which I don't like really. I prefer Hydraulic Assisted Steering, and I do agree on current cars being too "soul-less".
You forgot Lancia, it was a luxury car producer, it was called the Italian Mercedes, now it only produces a car, the Ypsilon which is a small car. I'm Italian so sorry if I made any grammatical errors.
Exactly, Cadillac is MUCH better than they were before, especially to the enthusiast. Until the Giulia came out the ATS was the best driving sedan in the segment (still is if you don't want an easy-mode transmission). Their interiors still need (further) improvement to do well, and then they'll only have to overcome years of hardened perception.
Lexus LFA.. Lexus is actually toyota. So all their "sport cars" ideas go as Lexus. Since no one will pay for a toyota LFA, but will pay extra for lexus.
I own a 2011 Toyota Prius with over 300,000 miles and it's never needed any repairs! I am somewhat meticulous about following the car maintenance schedule for it, in fact I use a cool program on my laptop www.automotivewolf.com to monitor and manage it's maintenance schedule, expenses and performance. The only thing its needed was new brake pads on the rear. It runs like new and still gets over 50 MPG.
@@gintaps Why would you hate Prius's if you are a "car guy" ? I would think you would appreciate the technology in them like the CVT and regenerative brake systems ?
It's consumer that make these brands become worst. More and more consumers demand for SUV and crossover even though they never really need it. More and more consumer wants their vehicle to be taller and bigger than others so they would feel safe inside. We are the few that left true to the origin spirit of these brands are left to rot in time. Money takes over everything, even principle, pride and passion.
You missed one...Hummer,But before you throw rotten tomatoes at me Hear me out,Hummer originally was a military brand producing Humvees which had Central tire deflation system from a button inside the vehicle, the transmission was higher which meant more ground clearance but less interior space,Most humvees had a Duramax Diesel, but hummer made a civilian Hummer known as the H2 which was a hummer in style (sorta) but not in capability it was full of cheap GM plastic and was too big in width to be able to park easily thus creating problems one of which was Price it was way too expensive (47k-50k) for a Overpriced unreliable block of plastic
H1 alpha was manufactured as a civilian version which did not stray from the AM general HMMWV roots . Hummer was never a brand . AM general made the HMMWV . GM subsequently bought the rights in 1999 to market the Humvee . AM general also made the H2 and the H3 on the GM 2500 truck platform . None of them came with a Duramax . They came with either a 6.0 v8 or 6.2 V8 . en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hummer_H2 The AM general HMMWV came with a Detroit not a Duramax . The Duramax became available in the AM General H1 Alpha in 2006 . The military version never used a Duramax . General engine products still makes a version of that same Detroit used in the HMMWV today . Know your shit before you talk dumbass . en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Detroit_Diesel_V8_engine
I am not sure about the brands which went downhill, but the company whose progress, development and innovation skyrocketed is definitely HYUNDAI, no other company has improved this much so fast!
I'm going to have to disagree (shocking I know, but that's the internet for you). I drive a fair amount of rentals for work and since Hyundai's are popular with a lot of rent-a-car companies. I inevitably have to end up driving them from time to time. I personally don't see the increase in quality. The seats are still terrible (for a 6'2" American with a fat butt anyway), the interiors cheap and uninspired and styling is still a 'meh'. Performance wise they are still a bit behind others in their class. (Looking specifically at the Santa Fe and Sonata). However, I will agree that they do hit a good price point. You get what you pay for and that's why Hyundai runs a lot cheaper than other makes in their class. I don't think they're skyrocketing, more like just plateauing.
Hyundai and Kia just rode and copied on the success of others brands , specially the Japanese. Hyundai and Kia are built with with a big percentage of Japanese autoparts.
What about Lamborghini? They used to make some sweet tractors now there making ugly supercars... Edit: Shout out to all the dumb shits who think I'm serious
Mitsubishi motors must do any of d following.. 1. Start Making nice cars. 2. Completely leave automobile business. Maybe the second one is more apt for them...
Mitsubishi really go from Uphill to Downhill, here in Philippines the Mitsubishi manufacturer made a car called "Mirage GLX" a downgraded version of Lancer GLX, the Mirage is such an ugly car for sure and slow as heck and can't understand they choose that type of economy car.
LEGEND 25 but it sells.. a lot of people buy it.. it is slow but reliable and fuel efficient.. i think Misubishi will continue to make cars that people will buy..
I have one, Mirage GLX 2014, when i bought it, I think it was the predecessor of the older Mirage sedan but equipped with more modern, efficient engine. It was a disappointment for me at first since it's slow and generally underperformed. Later though, I realized that Mirage is suitable for city environment, with traffic jam everyday everywhere, I'm currently glad to choose this car. The engine is slow but reliable and efficient. I even got 30km/litre efficiency one day. Holy shit! I think Mirage is the most fuel efficient car I've ever seen. It saves me a lot of money for gas.
Rinso bleach.. if you look closely.. the mirage g4 and the ASX looks quite the same when it comes to body.. it only just got bigger.. has anyone else notice the same?
Definitely Toyota, they made cool cars like the AE86, Supra and Celica, but they are only making one cool car, the GT86. All of the other models are just stupid slow hybrids.
Dirk Splithof "Stupid słow hybrid". U know that true car fan understands that there are different types of cars for different people with different needs? Someone who sees only sport cars as true cars is not really a car enthusiast. Sport cars are like a cherry on the top of the cake, but u cant forget the cake is important, too.
I think that one brand that has completely lost its way is ferrari. Used to make beautifull and fun to drive cars that were fast but today ferraris are now too focused on performance. They no longer look nice. ):
I reply to EVERYONE in the first 12 HOURS!! ( Except trolls :D )

I subed last year when you were at 500 subs!!!
Viral Vehicles
Please make your next video when you hit 100,000 subscribers talking about it. PS, NICE👌 video and I totally agree that Mitsubishi has gone deaf and blind for the enthusiasts by killing off the Lancer, hence the Evo.
BTW, try to talk in a future video about Indian 🚗 companies please because that's where I live.
Viral Vehicles you forgot Lancia
Viral Vehicles can you please at least consider makeing a top of rwd european cars? Just cuz there aren't many (except for bmw and mercs ofc)
Hi! What do you think about FSO Polonez?
You should do the opposite of this one: car brands that got better!
Hyundai all the way up !
Hyundai. Genesis Coupe, I30 N Hatchback
Redstoneprime volvo
Dodge
Redstoneprime Ford,Kia, Hyundai, Chevy and idl enter a 5th 1 here.
This should be named: Top 5 car brands that stopped making really fast cars

Number 1-5:
Lancia
You mean 5 awesome cars that's disappeared
Yep
Plus this is only his opinion for Honda if you are like me looking for practical cars and reliable cars Hondas are the best .
Lancia is missing on this list
Lancia died before 2000
Dave they still make cars.
my thoughts exactly... in the 70s - 90s they made the most amazing and beautiful rally cars (stratos, 037, Delta S4, integrale etc.)... now they're just rebadged chryslers...
boer harms They had a really bad bankruptcy.
i know... that and the ''beta incident''
Also RIP the Eclipse
a freaking meerkat yea but the last model looked like doodoo by comparison, ik the v6 is sick cause of the big power but you can’t never go wrong with a spooly boi
With the new 400Z in the making, will Mitsubishi ever consider making a comeback?
And Saab
Ah fuck. New Mitsubishis make me sad
Same
and rumours are saying they r going to make a crossover evo suv thing which is sadder
They have allways made plain cars (look at their 1960s lineup) but they atleast had a few interesting cars to spice it up.
TECH TOP 10 Basically confirmed their new suv concept is called the evo it's just a matter of if they'll actually make it or not. With how popular suvs and EVs are these days, it's basically a guarantee this ev suv will be made.
Today i saw a lancer evo X running down the street and it just made me sad because it reminded me of what they do today and that suv concept :(
#bringbacktheEVO!
Toyota most of all. Good bye Supra, good bye MR2, but yeah sure let's make the whole world drive Yaris and Prius
GuitaristFrankCC Also, Good bye AE86 Trueno, and AE85 Levin.
The Toyota supra
In my country a fucking prius is more expensive than a mk2 supra lul

He has wrong with mazda because they will bring back the rotary motor and they already keeped here zoom zoom slogan.
That why I love mazda they never change 😍
Uhh, Actually Mitsubishi is from 2000s so yeah it's not 90s car
@@valorianzolt2262 The first Lancer Evo was sold in the 90s
The new Hondas are the biggest offender when talking about boring and ugly cars. Just look at the new Civic.
Idk the 9g civic is much better than that two before them
Saab never lost their way.
Yeah no rebadges, It's not like they rebadged a Subaru Impreza and sold it as Saab.
By the way, I'm not saying this to hate to Saab, I'm just pointing that out.
Luis Fernando González Did you even read the comment dumbass?
Did you also read my second comment you piece of an insult of a mentally challenged person?!
basically jdm is dying
Harry Driscoll I'm happy
Bar Goldstein fuck you
Too many kids drive basic cars with JDM stickers.... A real JDM is a car made for the Japanese domestic market, such as a skyline, Rx series, etc...
Yeah☹️
Just forgotten the most titoled brand in rally history : LANCIA
@@naguoning bloody hell how far you going back? FIAT bought Lancia in the 60s

Toyota - supra
Now we have the most hated car - prius
Well you got Asians driving it lol
I had one, try pt cruiser buddy. toyotas are wonderful reliable cars. pt cruisers are not. priuses bottom out in turns tho, but last a hell of a long time.

@CIA you should be thankful for it they replaced it with the Kicks
Prius has been around since like 96 or something
But anyway fuck Prius the definitely need a face full of coal
You should have included Lancia. They went from amazing cars like the Delta Integrale and the Stratos to some boring crap.
Всеволод Алипов Lancia are the best company in history. I'm actually surprised that some other car company hasn't tried to reboot it. Given, idk if id like it or not, they'd have to do a really good job to make me like Lancia to fit the modernized world or if id rather see Lancia as a classic
man, Fiat bought Lancia, that's the reason why it sucks now (I'm italian). Now it only produce female ypsilon
Thanks, now it makes sence why they are now so crap. The coolest thing ever would be if Lancia and Saab made a car together. This would be just epic!

Even if it's actually just a Renault Kangoo you're driving around in, with a Pizza-sized star slapped onto the front.
ur wrong.
Johnny Tz. Amazing argument m8
The Stig`s German Cousin - I agree with you 100% Mercedes have lost their identity. In most of their modern day line up if you covered up the badges many people will think it is a Korean or Japanese car.

Hi Viral Vehicles!, I think that you forgot to mention Land Rover.... Once used make fun badass offroaders now make bloated land yachts...

The Evo series was their breadwinners.
Today, Mitsubishi makes more slower vehicles.
Z DDLC cuz faster cars Is dangerous

It's not the manufacturers but the consumers that shape the market. Times changed, nobody wants those awesome cars anymore. Now people care for safety, comfort and stylish design. Times of awesome cars are gone. I hope it's not for good :(
Kittay stop whining. There are plenty of good cars out there.
Kittay Comfort and stylish design? Where have you seen that among new models? Are you 18 years old, perhaps?
What about regulations? I've heard they've been tightening them up. I'd assume most old cars would be illegal to manufacture nowadays.
Nathaniel Bennett You would assume correctly. It's all about "safety" nowadays. Instead of teaching people proper road manners, cars are being designed to cope with aggressive driving and dangerous situations. None of this would be necessary if everyone obeyed the rules and respected each other.
Kittay *cough* electric cars wiping out fuel cars *cough*
ahh, the good old days, what manufacturers cared about fun and driving and not MPG. I think Mazda right now is kinda sorta what Honda used to be, still offering manuals in many models along with good handling (at least in the US)
Benjamin H agreed, that's why I love my 2011 Mazda 3
Chicken Bro Productions Mazda 3's are shit I got a Mazda 6
It's not the manufactures it's the regulations such as emissions and safety requirements.
Demetrios b ..and the bean counters run the show.
WHERE IS TOYOTA IN THIS LINE-UP? THEY LOST THE CELICA, SUPRA, MR-2

Tolga Etci don't forget 100 hp and 70 torque for Hondas LMAO
sdFdM Well, why?
AP1704 ML , why would you disagree? Motorcycles have transformed into spaceships! Just look at the Ninja H2. No one was doing anything of that caliber in the 80s or 90s. The difference between a 2005 and a 2018 zx10r or cbr1000rr is tremendous with all the new technology. Sure the power hasn't changed much but if power is what you're looking for that's why they make the bigger bikes like the zx14 and h2 now. LANCIA!!!! They used to be the kings of gorgeous raspy enthusiast cars, like the Stratos, Gamma, Monte Carlo, 037 and Delta Integrale. Now they make boring hatchbacks.
Honda hasn't really gone downhill that much... only distanced its models more
Yes they have, at least in America.
They are! look at their new model car, all material look cheaper like iphone shit.
Civic and accord are their only front runners. As far as the fit, crz, hrv, crv, pilot and ridgline, well they are lame and even worst is the Acura line that is selling the same basic shit as honda with an A badge and higher pricetag...wtf? 😂😂😂
Here in Canada,Honda is one of the top 5 best selling car brands.
"Their cars are no longer race track calibur, therefore the brand sucks now."
That's this video.
GM in general. They discontinued Pontiac and Saturn and the last Holden factory in Australia just closed.
cjoutdoors1991 pontiac died long times ago. Holden was not rentable and saturn...saturn never worked.
But why keep Buick and not any of those three?
GM has become the world's leading experts on how to beg for government bailouts instead of engineering great cars and winning customers. Even their trucks suck now. God knows why anyone buys their garbage anymore.
GM, Ford, & the other American brands (along with Toyota in Japan), lost their way decades ago & have been churning out boring vehicles ever since!
It's no wonder so many sheeple want self-driving cars!
kug spartan saturn was unique and different, pontiac shouldve stayed and buick shouldve got closed
You should have talked about how Eclipse becomed an SUV and 3000GT-FTO-Pajer just gone
True. Not another SUV from Mitsubishi. We have enough of them!🤦
Ceiran AllenWright Which ones do you think? I'm thinking Kia, since their style has improved considerably, and they're expanding into the enthusiast market with the Stinger GT.
Ferrari, while they've always made fantastic cars, they've really settled into making consistently good performance cars now.
Ford has been really reaching out to the enthusiast market, with the off-road capable Raptor, the sheer fun of the Focus RS, the Mustang and it's Shelby variants drive fantastically if you aren't some 18 year old who got one as a birthday present, and the new GT.
Can't think of the other two for now.
Y
To be honest the FTO was awful. It had the look of a JDM car, but the 1.8 or 2.0 was absolutely horrendous. That shit ass thing was even slower than a 2003 - 2007 honda accord (in fact their quick for their engine, I've done 120 mph in one of them, 2.2 diesel as well)
So you should really replace fto with galant
I disagree with mazda. Mazda still produces great handling cars.
Mazda is good as long they are made by Ford, Ford > Mazda.
john smith lol really? Mazda became its own company years ago.
1betterthanyou1 mazdas were good until the mid 90’s they started using cheap metal since then and still r that’s why they rust a lot I will never buy one again bc 2 years after I had my 2010 Mazda 3 it had rust already even around the fenders like wtf I had to sell it before it was too late bro I’m not joking they’re worst then the Jeep wranglers when it comes into rust issues I’m starting to think they’re also worst then hummers’ 😂😂😂 just saying
true, and furai was announced recently.
My first family car was a Mitsubishi l200 1989, the best car ever.. Sad to hear that.
Agreed
Opel also let it down... remember 2001 Opel Omega v8 5.7 liter with RWD. Bmw 5 series rival

Why honda?
Let’s all have a moment’s silence for the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo...
Yep lol
It's weird about how big the Gap with bugatti's timeline while atleast Lamborghini was just jumping around with company owners and ferrari (from my knowledge) wasn't really thrown around much.
Joesph_Stalin hello me
Spot on with regards to Honda.
Then kill the government so we can revive JDM godamnit
In the 90s there were even more awesome cars. Just think about the Caprice, the Crown Vic, the Town Car,....
You're the first person that I've ever seen mention the sileighty, although it was not officially manufactured
RIP EVO
I love the car I hope they bring the evo back....
who agrees?
They are bring it back...
...as a SUV.
Mercedes are actually very reliable.
Applause n agree

Yep, from nice classic rally cars to riced-out Chryslers.

The Honda Civics after 2000 cannot match the performance of the EG & EK series of the 90s!
Ya too bad finding a damn throttle cable for a japan produced 90s civic is impossible -_-
2003-5?
I was expecting to see Toyota on here. They used to have the Supra, 2000GT, MR2, and even the Celica but now the only enthusiast car they really have is the FRS and its nowhere near the level of their old lineup. Maybe the upcoming Supra will revive their heritage but for now they are just a grandma car company.
I only excluded because of the Supra. It better be good lol
But, Toyota GT86 (FRS) is all about handling though. It's never meant to be really fast car. That's why they didn't put turbo on it and let you modify it by yourself
Mazda not that much I think
Actually they did confirm an RX-7 rebuild that will have a rotary which, waitfor it...., will be used as a generator for the electric motor and I'm not even joking. -_-
Why.....just....why.
that is just a rumor that has been going around
TrwSeama what about the RX Vision they were working on?
RX9
its RX Vision, no?

2015 was the final year for the Evo. Not 2011
Final year, but they announced the termination of that model in 2011, I believe.
So they managed to sell the rest of the lineup in 5 years? I'm impressed.
SoCalSupercars And look at the new evo's?
Not really evo's anymore are they?
Why people keep saying Evo X is not an Evo? Like, are you blind? The badge says Evolution
The Evo X was the only Evo which hadnt the amazing 4G63T 4-cylinder turbo engine, so obviously the X wasnt accepted in the car scene for many years
Another remarkable downgrade: Citroën.
Citroen was never good car. Shitty design. Only one good manufacture from France was Peugoet
You know *nothing* N-O-T-H-I-N-G
Be quiet about things you have no clue about. Kid.
They did a lot of innovative stuff, but their decline has been decades long not recent.
damn evo ugly

Omg I'm so happy to have found your comment so far up. I'm driving a Xantia Activa V6 and the pure amount of fun I've had with it is just indescribable. Soooo many modern Audis, BMWs, Japanese sportscars and even Porsches went from jostling in my backmirror to tiny little toys after a corner or two. Unbelievable stability that even saved my life once, I think (dodging cars on the autobahn while going 200, every other car I drove wouldn't even come close to reacting like that)
Though, I have the privilege of having my dad, who maintains Citroëns, especially Activa, for a living.
Proton: We should make Chinese SUV Car
Perodua: Hah sound embarrassed to you, i'll make Japanese-Malaysian Car for successful car in Malaysia
Proton: ''embarrassing"
Perodua: Great, you need to joined the Mitsubishi
Proton: Mkae
You hit the nail on the head with Honda and Mitsubishi. All they make now are boring shit boxes.
Quinton TV Honda make the new NSX.
Ummm, thanks for unknowingly helping point. ZZZZZzzz
The new Type R and SI are pretty fun to drive and are good platforms if you want to modify them. People have already gotten the SI to 300+whp
Well I wish they'd go back to the past and make no boring shit boxes.
what about Lancia?????
true, now they are making one a a single one car model
BlackFalcon 5283 its basically Chrysler now
Sadly it's a car brand that is about to die. Their only currently produced model is sold just here in Italy and nowhere else.
@Bonsi I think it's sold in whole Europe, at least in France we have them
guys, Fiat bought Lancia, that's the reason why it sucks now (I'm italian). Now it only produce female ypsilon
However, given we've not seen a GSi or VXR version of the Astra (give it's 3 years into its production run now) and PSA are moving to standardise the range to use PSA part (like on the new Corsa), Vauxhall will just end up being re-badged Peugeot with worse engine plants, crappy electrics and just bad build quality.
japan really lost their touch from making racing car now their making people car only
hmmmm, civic type r, r35 GT-R, BRZ/86, WRX STI. what else? theres heaps of performance cars nowadays dickhead

You forgot Peugeot's 208 GTi. It's a very cool super-mini.
still not like the 205 gti....
I haven't driven either of them. If you did, why do you think it's not as cool as the 205?
Bring back the Oldsmobile!
Only if they bring back the GNX with that revival.
I loved my 86 cutlass supreme!
You forgot Lancia, it was a luxury car producer, it was called the Italian Mercedes, now it only produces a car, the Ypsilon which is a small car.

They never did, really. "Old" Opels are reliable and cheap, that's all they can offer. I wonder what will they do under Peugeot (most likely RIP)

They came with either a 6.0 v8 or 6.2 V8 . en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hummer_H2
The AM general HMMWV came with a Detroit not a Duramax . The Duramax became available in the AM General H1 Alpha in 2006 . The military version never used a Duramax . General engine products still makes a version of that same Detroit used in the HMMWV today . Know your shit before you talk dumbass .

I am not sure about the brands which went downhill, but the company whose progress, development and innovation skyrocketed is definitely HYUNDAI, no other company has improved this much so fast!
KIA as well i think but they are nearly the same brand😂
@@Michaelariedmann Yeah

LEGEND 25 but it sells.. a lot of people buy it.. it is slow but reliable and fuel efficient.. i think Misubishi will continue to make cars that people will buy..
its not downhill more like catering to the market majority, more in efficiency than speed and looks
You dont need a fast car in the phil.. gas effiency is more practical
