Dried beans are still a savings over the same quantity (weight) of meat. 1 pound of dried beans cooks up to about 6 cups, depending on the variety of course, as opposed to a pound of meat which either stays the same or shrinks as the fat cooks out of it.
Thanks, most people around me didn't realize inflation was a thing til they saw the Dollar Store raised prices and is no longer a Dollar. Scary times, hope everyone stays safe.
Doesn't help that my local Asda has increases nearly 100% for instance 4 tine of baked beans £1 before Christmas are £1.80 on 13 January.Thats me done.Must be expensive building mosques.
I'm so sorry you're seeing empty shelves. I'm sure it's different in other areas around the world. For us, we are not seeing empty shelves, but now seeing plenty. I hope it eases up for you and you can find the groceries you are looking for. :)
I spend $600 a month for a family of 5 and cooking my husband lunch ...you gotta buy by meal planning around your pantry and fridge then just compliment ingredients stay off brand name products
Don’t forget that their family has allergies & certain diet restrictions. Not everyone has that. & just because their budget is $700/month, doesn’t mean that that is what they actually spend every month. Some people use their grocery budget for household items (we do & ours is $500/month but in no way does that mean we use that whole thing each month or JUST for groceries, plus there are only 3 people & 1 big dog in our household that we feed.) It really just depends on the size of the family & what kind of diets each person in the family works with. When we had a much smaller budget (not to mention rent or a mortgage) our grocery budget (including household items) was about $300-$400/month. Or roughly $100/week. Plus she’s in California… Which is so expensive out that way.

Don’t forget produce.. produce is crazy expensive., use to get a bag of potatoes for 2 bucks for 5 pounds. Now 4 pounds for 3 dollars
Inflation isn’t just prices going up, but the amount of food you get for the price is less 😭
Shrinkflation

Yes, times are a bit crazy right now, but we will get through this.

I am not really having that issue. I would highly suggest looking into Azure standard.
I have to disagree with you. Not only our prices rising but we’re seeing empty shelves for weeks. No bread for 3 days.
