Not gonna lie, this one got my full attention. What an absolutely amazing step in the right direction for the Front Range trail scene. Fortunately James Weingarten had a few runs on Ore Chute to tow my old ass into the proper lines. Props to COMBA and everyone who had a hand in this one. This is my first visit to Maryland Mountain since filming a Hard Money promo just before it opened to the public last year. Despite a bit of snow and ice, things are holding up amazingly well, and it was fun to grab a lap on Hard Money after only seeing it before it had officially opened. I think it goes without saying that this trail system is a huge asset to the Denver MTB community and I would highly encourage local land managers to take note of this trail system as a model of what is possible in Colorado. How refreshing. Directional trails are nice and all but you shouldn't actually physically be able to climb a true DH track anyways. So there's that. We are going in the right direction with this. Love your work! A #followcamfriday approved, sanctioned DH trail in Colorado.
Man, James makes every trail look like he's ridden it a thousand times.
Dialed!
This may set the bar for most "holy craps" in Nate Hills video. Having seen the BKXC/SingletrackSampler vid - where they spend 5 minutes looking at each feature - only enhances my appreciation for the riding in this one.
Fortunately James had a few laps in this to tow me into most of it. Always trust James.
Definitely several steps up from that other video (which in itself was still fun to watch), like that nose ride which was so cleanly executed. However there ARE some cuts with Nate and James here before key sections, suggesting it wasn’t ridden blind by Nate the whole way. Still insanely good.
@@TimMaddux I thought bk & sampler did a pretty good job for "regular guys"
Same here. Really puts into perspective the skills Nate and these guys have.
@@mistert1097 Sampler is decent descender, so a few more runs on this would make a huge difference for him. Brian seems more of a tech climber, so I am sure the Ore was pretty daunting.
Thanks to both COMBA and Boulder Mountainbike Alliance for making this new trail happen! 🤘🤘🤙🤙
More if this on the Front Range. The people have spoken! ha
Both of you have an insane level of skill and courage.
That has to be one of the steepest trails in CO. They weren't messing around with it... very few switchbacks and down you go. Definitely a shuttle run. James is incredible as usual. Bunny hops a feature and lands a perfect transition into a downhill switchback turn at speed. Who does that? I don't even think he braked. He just scrubbed speed by landing perfectly on the berm. Brilliant stuff.
James is special.
Yes! Been waiting for this video since Ore Chute opened. Shredding out there, on a gnarly gnarly trail.
Amazing bit of trail.
@@natehills9388 COMBA spoils us riders here, no doubt.
Massive respect and thanks to all the trail builders around the world 🌎🙏🤘🤘🤘🤘
No doubt.
That is some steep ass rock you hit the ground and well you’re gonna have one hell of a hike out. Awesome effing trail. Even for us elderly old 60+ downhiller‘s from the day.
Excellent video as always Nate, massive applause to the trail builders!!
There is something special about a trail like this simply existing. Can't wait to give it a try.... someday!
Get it!
Hard Money is so much fun. Can’t wait to check out that new trail.
Get it!
Amazing looking trail, top notch building to keep the tech flowing.
Trail designers and builders did great and were not as concerned about trail speed. Gotta have some chops to ride this properly.
I like how Nate and James makes this look like a cake walk and the BXKC guy makes look like it's the end of the earth...
and notice Nate Hills talks less, there's levels lol
Thank you for the sweaty palms! Looks like one helluva trail 🤘
Had to watch this again. This is the type of gnar that is not meant to be played without much respect
Man..what a way to try the new bike!!😅 and James! always pushing what one can do on a mountain bike!😝😝
That loose dry dirt and stones combo looks treacherous. Definitely a gnarly trail
Full respect for this one.
How would you compare this to something at LHOHV? I've ridden all the features on Indiana jones and GZA with no issues aside from looking at features on my first attempt. How much harder would you say ore chute is than those trails?@@natehills9388
6 X.. Damn, if someone catches a handlebar, It could be a tough day. Building this thing had to be extremely difficult. Impressive is an understatement. 🔥
You guys were flying. Shreddy 🤘
The Dynamic Duo always amazes me with your athletic agility to "ride like the wind" when it comes to MTB'n. Thanks for the weekly riding videos. Nate, BTW, I recd a you tube message to contact you for a "your reward". Happy Thanksgiving weekend.
Thanks for watching John. I wish UA-cam would do something about the spam accounts.
Great video! MM has been a fun ride since it opened, you guys killed it, as usual. Cheers!
Epic riding. Awesome meeting you guys that day
Nice to meet you as well amigo.
Holy moly! 😱
I get scared only looking at. Brilliant biking...
🚀Third watch, Insane trail build and incredible riding as usual. Much respect 👍
You know when Dave throws out multiple holey craps, it's going to get rowdy!!! Sweet trail, peace and stay safe.🤟
who's Dave? :D :D :D
Holy crap Dave!
My bad,Nate, for a moment I thought of you as dangerous Dave
Crazy how dry it has been.. Nice vid @Nate Hills
We have more technical trails, however, this looks like the best of both flow and technical I have ever seen. Awesome looking trail and riding too!!!
Having just seen Alex and Brian do this trail on their channel, then you guys slicing it like butter…. Looks sketchy but soooo fun!
Propre la conduite les gars ! 🤘🏼
That rocky tech at the beginning reminds me of my local Granite Dells in Prescott, AZ! So much fun! This has some sweet flow on the second half though. Awesome Trail!
Beautiful.
That is one chunky trail!
thanks dude!
So gnarly and awesome! 😎🔥🤙🏼
That's above my pay grade but thank for the ride!
So sick! Buddy's got style.
Another gimbal neck-snap! Two Fridays in a row! Keep it going.
Thanks! Will do!
dang that is SWEET trail
I was impressed.
Even on camera that trail was absolutely terrifying!
THAt looks incredible!
That was insane boys! What a couple of sick trails, though I think I might pass on that first one! At my age I'm afraid I would run out of talent, lol! At least you let James go first to scout it out, haha.
season 8!
That’s some sick trails. But dame those snow patches got me on my toes 🤟🤟🤟
Keeping us honest.
Some of those features are nuts! Love that Colorado is going steeper, but not sure about all that jank
Jank is life ;)
nice technical trail !!!
Awesome riding! I have not hit that area yet but gosh, Ore Chute is nuts. from what you showed, it makes trails like buff Creek's Black Jack, tame. I might...... be up for Hard Money instead....Maybe. Gotta get out there next spring and see. There are some crazy trails in southern Colorado near Lake Isabel that Ore Chute reminds me of. They are still not on the Trailforks database but they start near st Charles Peak, Insane.
Hell yes!!!
Jesus, I would be in the hospital within the first descent. Great skills!
BIG WHAM!!! @2:33 !!!
Love from Bangladesh ❤️❤️
That was definitely extreme! I would say extreme extreme mountain biking right there 😂🍻. That was like a flow trail but completely different
Basically what we are looking for.
@@natehills9388 Spicy makes for a great day and seeick video
after the video I would say that James is not human! 🫣😂 Insane skills from you Guys 👌🏻
I agree.
That’s motivation at the best!!
Great riding and great video
This had me on edge 🙈
Wow, that first sequence seems, a bit, well '...chunky, raw...' 😬 that is a good one! thanks for sharing.
One of the most difficult MTB trails I have ever seen... the steepness, commitment of big time squamish trails with the moon dust and sharp edges waiting to catch a front tire trail conditions of CO
Proper tech fest.
At this point, I think James should change his name to 'Jib' by deed poll. Another great/terrifying edit, Nate.
Nothing better than watching James dissect the tech.
best trail in the world 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Nice "trail" 😳☠ You know it's spicy when Nate's reaction is damn and holy crap instead of laughter lol
Amaaaazzzing!!! Thanks for sharing and thanks to COMBA and Boulder Mountainbike Alliance!! When did you shoot the video?
Jagged Axe did an amazing job! This was a couple of weeks ago.
dang, that looks GNARLY and I know it's Gopro'ed down like crazy. When Nate is saying "Holy crap" more than once you know it's legit. Chicken Pass allowed on this one LOL
That old man rips!
Simplemente cryz🚵🚵🚵💪🏽👊🏽
Insane
Whoa
Muy bien. Me gustaria ver el video del la primera vez que hicieron esa ruta. La primera vez.
🔥🔥🔥
That trail looks amazing, who is James? I love his style of riding, you are both solid he's got a unique style! Thats my kind of terrain, I want to go check that out more than the North Shore.
James is the GOAT
holy shhiitttt mann
DANGERBOYZ !
When you see your chin in the video.... you know it's STEEP!
I think a ride like this would have been great if you had footage from a chin mount facing out and the chest mount to see more of what you were actually going over in some spots. Killer looking trail
The IG version shows a bit more of the trail. I can't bring myself to wear a chin mount, lol
Agreed. It's the downside of the chest mount. The version that Alex and Brian did for their Redemption Tour, coupled with this, really shows how gnarly, steep, and chunky those rock rolls really are. This video coupled with Brian and Alex's Redeption Tour video, really shows how nasty those rock gardens truly are. Sadly, I agree that a gimbal and chesty really does take away from the view of this trail. It's still incredible that James and Nate rode it that fast and some of it seemingly without scouting it first. An under-visor Hero 11 mini would help to see the trail for sure, but flattens things out quite a bit more than a chin mount. You're giving up something no matter what mount you use. I think chin mount is the most realistic, but I also concede that some people just flat-out refuse to wear a full-face helmet and are willing to risk their face. For my money, Phil Kmetz (Skills with Phil) still has the best footage with his chin mount, but I still LOVE ME some FOLLOW CAM FRIDAY!!!! The OG of rad POV videos!!
the cam always makes it look faster and scarier but doesnt do justice to the steepness
F-Ing Jamie messing around on “serious” trail. Well done boys.
Holding out for the video where you ski down this
It's filling in nicely.
🤘🏼🤘🏼
Siiiiiiick!
Now I'm even more frustrated with our local land managers. This is amazing and I can't believe how lucky the area is to have sanctioned, legal trails of this caliber.
Yup, COMBA did a great job raising funds and making this one happen.
Damn! That was some sick riding.
Love it, but is also makes me a bit sad, because I’m to old and scared to ride that kind of stuff anymore. lol…
Ride on 🤘
I believe in you.
James is my hero. Teddy is still #1 tho!
My athletes are lit.
If Nate’s going “Damn”, multiple times…best gird your loins for some serious ju ju…
🤙
Love your work.
Another great video. I prefer the vertical view on the gram. Gives a little bit more feeling what the trail is like and you can see more of some of the different technical sections.
Yeah, I am with you. Definitely does more justice to the trail. Different formats for different folks I suppose.
Did James found Float apparel? The first time I saw him ride, it was on Hangover and I thought, "That guy just floats over the ground."
James owns Float and it is a very fitting name for his style, ha
Damn James...
James is always lit.
🧨🧨🧨
How recently did you ride this? been looking for trails that aren’t snowed in on the front range
Couple of weeks ago. Not sure what is happening up there currently.
Btw the B-roll at the beginning is Central City not BH - lol
It's all Denver to me amigo;)
A minor pedantic point, but your opening shots are in Central City, not Black Hawk.
It's all Denver to me.
Uh, yeah....that was ridiculous!! You're an animal. This strikes me firmly as one of those where pretty good riders watch this, show up to ride it, and it immediately becomes a case of "Oh hell no...." when they see how steep and gnarly those rock rolls are in person. "That doesn't look that bad" turns into, "Oh man, if I go OTB on that, it's 15' to the ground and HIGH consequence." Glad to read that James had ridden it a few times previously, because otherwise you guys would need to be checked for being aliens. I saw how nasty those were in Brian and Alex's video.
Definitely several steps up from that other video (which in itself was still fun to watch), like that nose ride which was so cleanly executed. However there ARE some cuts with Nate and James here before key sections, suggesting it wasn’t ridden blind by Nate the whole way. Still insanely good.
@@TimMaddux ....Yeah, Nate said later in a comment that James had ridden it a few times, which I'm sure helped. But yeah...I saw a few spots where it was cut, and I'm assuming he walked down to get the scoop from James first. It's almost foolhardy not to do that on some of those, because the line isn't visible from the top until it's too late to alter it. On at least two of those, based on the Red Tour video, you'd almost have to have seen it first to get on the correct line.
Is it "blind" if you are following someone Tim? We definitely stopped and had a look at a few sections. There is nothing too crazy on this trail but you definitely need to have your tires in the right place in a couple of sections. Definitely got my full attention.
Is this a SB140 or SB160 kind of trail for you?
I was definitely under biked here. 160 will be a weapon!
Superbe trails, even for Swiss standards! :)
Is that a Fatty sticker? Delicious tubes meats 😋
Pinnacle of tube meat!
Ore Chute - For those who like a little dirt with their rocks.
As it should be.
Double Black Friday footage is what the people need
Helps with the turkey sweats.
Basically that whole thing looked steeeeeep
That’s a high “damn” count.
Don't mind if u can share your sb130 setup?
Spec is here- worldwidecyclery.com/Nate. My 130lr is built exactly the same as my 140.
@@natehills9388 thanks 🤘🤘
Should have been named blood money to stick to the theme
