    Thanks for making this video, my carb seems good but if I ever want to replace it I'll follow this route.

    That is very cool looking... has a Steampunk quality to it... I dig the water faucet style adjustment knob! I wonder how four of them would look/run on my 83 Nighthawk 650... But, I'm not willing to chop out my air box, etc... Well Done! Post a follow-up video of it running , and you revving the engine a bit... :)

    The air line that normally runs to the air box under the carb what did you do about that and i used the throttle cable you suggested but i don't have enough cable sticking out plus how do i make it pull back another word's the factory carb where throttle cable hooked to was spring loaded.

    HI THERE.....what throttle cable did you use for it that fits the nighthawk....???

    Great video. I’m reviving 1991 nighthawk 250, the bike hasn’t ran since 2012 and I came across this video..I’ve watched it several times. What do you do with the catch can off the air box, is that what a pod filter is? Was there any crazy mod for the throttle cable since it has the pulley style?

      Inside where the airfilter use to go I put a bras 4 way 3/8" fitting. Crankcase hose goes in, 2 small breather filters and a hold in bottom of airbox to run a tube downward toward the ground behind the engine per normal.

    Thank you so much for making this, super helpful! Could you please send a link to the intake manifold, I'm having trouble finding the right one. Also, do you have to remove the airbox to make this work, or is it compatible with the stock airbox? Would prefer to not chop it out if possible. Thanks!

    Hey man! I enjoy watching your content! I understand that this is not on the correct video, but it is one of your sooner posts so hopefully you see this. I have recently purchased an Amstar Nostalgia and am looking to engine swap to a 125cc engine. Do you happen to know what engines are plug and play for this bike? What are the mounting hole spacings? After many weeks digging and measuring my bike, I have yet to find this information and hope that you (someone who has done this before) have some insight.
    Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

    • @mayhembike
      @mayhembike  2 роки тому

      Just about any "Honda" 125 will fit the Amstar. I am running a TBolt Pirahna YX140. Just bolted right one. If you can find one with electric start and avoid the exhaust routing woes I initially went with because of the kick only option on the 140. The kick only will hit a "low" exhaust. You can run a CT70 exhaust like I did if you get a kick only. Lifan 125's do work. Just look at my other videos for the wiring info. Most are simple colors. Yellow, white, red w/black, blue w/white and green

    Will the Nibbi PE24FL fit the standard intake manifold on the Honda Nighthawk or did you have to get the Twinstar for this carb to work. I need to replace the carb on my bike but a Honda carb is mad money. Thanks G P

    • @mayhembike
      @mayhembike  Рік тому

      You need to get a Twinstar intake off ebay for like $40. Then the Nibbi 24FL will bolt right on pretty much.

      @@mayhembike could you do a full guide on this? I just bought my first motorcycle a 2001 Honda rebel 250 and my carb is dead. I'm thinking it's the same motor and it'll work on mine I'm getting the last of the parts in soon and it would be nice to see how you did it exactly. And it might help future new riders fix up there nighthawk/rebel/cb. For example did you have to get an aftermarket throttle? Or were you able to make stock work? What about the choke cable?

      Did u install a new throttle cable compatible with carb? Also you may need to turn up idle screw and also use choke on carb to start till warm. Mine has been sitting since Dec and started right up 2 days ago.

    24mm carb is to small for 250 in my opinion I run 28mm on 150cc bikes

    • @mayhembike
      @mayhembike  9 днів тому

      On my latest build which is running the Hawk 229cc (250) I did a 28mm I think. No issues with it. To be honest anything in 24-28 will run on a 223-229cc. Depends how you want to go. The stock CB250 (229cc Honda) had a factory 25mm bore of I recall. Been a few years since video. Bike has been sold for over 2 years. No reported issues.

    • @mayhembike
      @mayhembike  9 днів тому

      If I recall also the CM200 intake I used on the CB250 was limited to 25-26mm port. I tried a Nibbi 26mm and it hung off the intake flange. And I had a 24mm on hand. A cheapy knockoff PZ26 is slightly different in its ovalness shape and may work. Though its not a true 26mm diameter. More like 19x26 or so.

    24mm is too small ! 30mm on 250 is wonderfull

    • @mayhembike
      @mayhembike  Рік тому +2

      True. Honda CB250 factory is 26mm. I tried a Nibbi 26 and it was too big for the CM185/200 intake. A cheaper PZ26 does fit. But is not a round venturi more like an oval.

      @@ArthurAlison I just bought a Nibbi PE 28mm for my Rebel 250 since it's the same size as a PZ26, but it performs better for a 250cc, and I have the same 26mm manifold. I'm thinking about how to make the adaptation work well, but I wanted to know if you've tried fitting that 28mm to a 26mm manifold? How did it turn out? Or what kind of adaptation did you make? Please let me know.
