I followed your recipe and method, but half of the ingredients plus a teaspoon of Italian Herbs in the dough, and this was the most successful focaccia so far, with crispy on the outside and soft and bready on the inside. Definitely worth the test and taste! 👍🏻
Try it by pouring a 1/4 cup of warm water over the whole bread before baking. It gives the bread a nice crunch on the outside and real soft inside. My grandmother in Italy makes it that way at her restaurants. It's delicious
This really is the best focaccia recipe ever!! I made the dough last night and baked it today. The whole house still smells like the tastiest warm bread ever. Huge thank you for sharing this with us!! This will be my go to recipe from now on. The whole family loved it. We still have a few pieces left and they already ask me to make it again. It’s so crunchy but fluffy and delicious, it’s insane. Thanks again!! ❤️❤️

Combine flour, yeast and salt .then add the lukewarm water until the flour has absorbed all the water 2. Form the dough in a ball shape in the bowl and coat it with olive oil.cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it refrigerate for 12 hours. 3. After letting it rest.get a pan . Pour some olive oil in it.around one two tbsp is enough. Roll the dough in the pan to coat it. Then let it rest for 3 to 4 hours. 4. After its deflated. Coat yo fingers with some olive oil and poke some holes in the dough and bake at 200c for 25 min. And for the americans mybe it was 400f . Ouh yea. Don forget to sprinkle the salt before baking it in the oven. I didnt have those so i just baked it without the salt. Brushed some butter after baking and sprinkled parsley . Loved it :)) hope dis helps if anyone needs it
I think I will do the same but with some cheese also. I take it you just added the tomatoes on the top before baking. I followed a lot of this lady’s recipe and I’ve never been dissatisfied.🤗🇬🇧
That Foccacia is Phenomenal, I love how your dough develops nice super fat bubbles on the surface before it goes in the oven. Those are the tell tail signs of a brilliant Foccacia , guaranteed next time I make my Focaccia I'm trying your method. Nice Job for real👌
This is the easiest, best looking and best tasting Focaccia I ever made and will be my new go-to recipe. It turned out PERFECT, with a crisp, crunchy crust, and soft, chewy interior full of holes and bubbles. Made my dough around 11 a.m. for baking around 4 p.m. the next day and it was flawless. Only change I made was to add the topping I use in another Focaccia recipe, which means brushing on a mix of EVOO, water, chopped garlic and rosemary. Then I added cracks of salt and into the oven. To me this is a no-fail kind of recipe. I do a lot of cooking and baking so have moderate amateur level skills, and I think this would be an ideal start for first-timers and will be ideal for this old-timer too! Thanks for this amazing recipe and great guidelines!
@@lilacfunk It's never been an issue for me with this recipe. It's a mix of 2 tbsp water, 2 tbsp EVOO, 2 garlic cloves chopped well, 2 tsp fresh rosemary finely chopped, and a bit of salt. Just spread most of it all over the bread after you dunk your fingers in it to make the dimples. I don't fuss on the salt cause I sprinkle some salt flakes right on the loaf. Alexandra's loaf recipe here is FANTASTIC!
I just made this and oh my goodness! It came out perfect! I’ve tried making focaccia previously (2 attempts) and they always came out flat and dry. I’m guessing it was because I didn’t coat the dough before refrigerating. Thank you, for this will be my forever focaccia recipe I follow! ❤️
i made this a few days ago and it was amazing!! it’s so moist it’s almost a cake, my only recommendation is if your going to do one of those garden landscapes cook it at a lower temperature or the decorations will burn off✨
I made it twice already. The first time I used AP flour and it came out great and bubbly inside, but it was a bit salty. The second time I baked it with bread flour and reduced the salt, it didn't create a lot of bubbles but it proofed really well and tasted great! I think you need more olive oil, that what makes the focaccia taste amazing!
Speaking with my musician hat on, it is so refreshing to hear your sound effects. AKA no music added. The crunch of the slicing and the kids in the background made my day! (I make it the same way, by the way, but now I will enjoy making the dimmples befor it bakes so much more~)
Unbelievably easy and delicious with a fantastic texture and appearance. My first time making it and kept the dough in the fridge for 24 hours the end result was amazing. I didn't use the extra salt at the end but definitely it is needed. Thanks for sharing your recipe.
Absolute stunner! Made it this morning. Best focaccia I've ever had. Ate with freshly shredded Parmigiano Reggiano on top and drizzled with a bit of olive oil. Thank you !!
I love that there is no borring music and horrible comments from the author. We only have what we need in this briliant video and recipe. It looks yummi it is absoluetly amazing.
the most straight-forward recipe i've found . i've always been intimidated by baking. my mom made bread often . sadly, she's gone and i dont have her for reference . she never made focaccia , but her baked goods were fabulous . this is something i could do . or would at least try. perhaps my biggest take away will be "it's flour, water, yeast, oil salt. how difficult could it be ?" ...wish me luck
This recipe is co crispy so soft and so easy it is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have used a couple of different recipes for foccocia and this is hands down the best. THank you Alexandra
I decided to make this after watching several recipes that were far more complicated. I'm so glad I went with yours- it came out SO TASTY. The bread is crispy and golden on the outside, nice and fluffy on the inside. I can't believe how good it tasted with such minimal effort involved- this is going to be my go-to bread.
I've made this recipe many times here in Germany but today is the first time that the contents of my bowl looked like the video. I used 550 type flour and less water, which together made the difference. I'll say, everyone has always absolutely loved this recipe when I made it previously, but my dough came out at a higher hydration because of the flour difference and was way more difficult to handle. I'm excited to see how I like the result now that I have finally achieved the actual consistency shown in the video :D
Wow! 🤩 What a brilliant and simple recipe and luscious looking bread - I am definitely going to try this! Just had your channel come up on my feed and subscribed. Thank you 🙏 for all the recipes you share. And no music, waffle, or life story. (relief...) And hearing your kids chatting/normal family noises in the background. Just lovely. 😊XXX
I made this bread today. Followed your recipe posted here. It came out exactly as it should. I did use bread flour and a glass 13x9 Anchor-Hocking pan and it worked well. TY for posting with such great, easy to follow instructions.
I love how your video is about ...making the focaccia. Nothing more, nothing less. Clear and concise. I downloaded your recipe and will try it soon! I am trying to perfect my focaccia skills and am still learning (how to make the crumb airier).
I literally just pulled this out of my oven and OMG its amazing. The kids have nearly demolished it 🤣 Only difference is I added a sprinkle of Rosemary and Parmesian cheese on top 🇮🇹 I can feel my Italian heritage coming out
I am making it now again for the third time. First time it came out oily but i thought i made a mistake. It was tasty anyway and finished it off that same day. Next day i made it again, it came out pretty much the same but i loved it. First day i put sliced olives on top. Next day i put poppyseeds and salt flakes. I made a dip out of salty fresh cheese and sourcream with chopped dill. I recomand it. Now i am making it again, i skipped the oil, it did not dry in the fridge but i used a plastic container so maybe that's why. It was just a regular container, nothing fancy. I lined the tray with butter before i put it there to rest and i sprinkled only a little bit of oil before putting my fingers into it. I used a silicon brush, DID NOT TOUCH THE DOUGH WITH IT, i dipped it in oil and just giggled it across the dough to have splatters here and there. It is currently in the oven. I will edit the comment with how it came out ✌🤗 L.e: it came out great. I do recommand doing it like so: skip all the oil until putting your fingers into it. I don't have my goalblatter anymore and so less oil is better for my digestion. It still came out golden and beautiful. After 25 minutes i put it on max temp for another 5 to get it crunchy and nice. I loved it. Thank you for the video. I have this all written down in my cookbook notepad
Really great focaccia. I followed the recipe very closely and the result was absolutely fabulous. My only change was using 7g yeast sachet and baking took 30min. Crust was crunchy and inside was super bubbly and soft. Two people commented it was the best focaccia they ever had ❤
I was looking for this comment!! Debating whether I could use the 7g sachet instant yeast instead of 8g, was the only thing withholding me from trying out focaccia. Finally I can make it tonight for the very first time 🙃 Thank you ❤
Thank you for this recipe! I made this for a small dinner party tonight and it was a hit. The crispness and light airy inside was a nice surprise. So easy to make
Update: It turned out splendidly. The bread had a wonderful sourdough aroma as it baked. I followed the focaccia art tips and made a holiday wreath with parsley, rosemary and grapes. I am excited to share it with my family and taste the bread. Modifications: it took about an hr to come to room temp and spread out (don’t let it overferment) used olive oil on finger tips for dimpling, 1:1 water and oil for brushing the top after herbs and before salt. My gas oven/dark IKEA roaster required about another 10 min. Nice hollow sound. Everyone’s had such good results, I’m trusting this recipe for Christmas dinner! I let mine double (3 hrs here in south Florida) and it’s fermenting now. I have high hopes because I just haven’t had luck with sourdough starters. I’d like to add fermented bread back in the diet.
This is the best. I literally did nothing, mixed ingredients together, slathered it in oil, dumped it in the fridge, punched holes in it and threw it in the oven. Viola, fresh bread. It tastes so goddamn good you would think i spent hours kneading it. Mine almost tasted like a square baguette, really really good, the texture is chewy and fluffy, the crust is soooo crispy!!
Thanks. The recipe was nice and easy to follow. My son has just started to learn to cook (20 years old) and he followed along watching and pausing your video and it came out perfect.
Best & easiest recipe ever! Making the dough the day b4 cuts down on so much time. Cherry tomatoes, basil, olives for toppings on tomorrow’s Christmas lunch. 👍🎄🤗
Thank you for a very easy recipe that turned out beautifully! I followed a hint from one of the comments to add some warm water to the oil on top and this worked well.
Made half the recipe and it turned out perfect and it was eaten within half an hour so we made it again! And it sold out again! Thank you for a beautiful easy and satisfying recipe! 😃🎶🎊💐 And we're making it again today for tomorrow 🙌
just pure WOW, i made this and i loved it. i added olives and rosemary in mine, tasted really good if you're thinking of other topics. Also it was a bit salty after i add the kosher sea salt ( i didn't have the flaky one) so you can skip it or add less salt in the dough. overall very easy to make for beginners such as myself.
We just made it and it’s so delicious. Thanks for sharing your recipe. It is definitely a keeper. We baked it with rosemary sprinkled on top. The bread is soft and chewy but it is also crispy on the outside. We will be making more of it in the future. Thanks again.
My go to recipe thank you so much for sharing. I saw a tip in the comments below to add water on top before baking and it comes out well. My favourite way to eat is to drizzle honey and salt on the bread after baking.
Wow just made two large focaccia using these instructions and recipe, so easy and such good results, if i could of made more it would all of gone! so pillowy on the inside and crunchy on the outside, it's a keeper.
Im a teenager that used to be pretty bad at making bread but this was actually pretty simple and easy 😊 best video and recipe I’ve seen for first time making focaccia
Fantastic video!! Wish all tutorials were as good as yours. Straight to the point. I love it! One thing I'd like to understand a little more is what differentiates the types of breads. Thx
That's a REAL focaccia !!!! The best of internet I've seen and I LOOK a all bunch of vids !!! Your recipe is WOW wonderful BRAVO !!! I must say to you I'm going to make always your recipe coz it's better than mine and I cook artisans breads for over 40 years so !
Focaccia has always been one of my favorite kinds of bread, but difficult to find at the store and expensive when I can find it. I just made focaccia following your recipe and it turned out really good, better than any I've ever had from the store!! I've never been successful at making any kind of bread before so I just wanted to thank you for your clear and easy-to-follow instructions. I still can't believe I made focaccia 🥹
What a terrific recipe and video! Mine is turning out exactly as described, and I love the bubbles produced when you dimple the dough. I haven't even tasted it yet, and I loved making this more than I can say, thank you so much!
I have just made your recipe today and honestly it’s the best recipe ever I added zaatar and sea salt on mine and I will be sharing the recipe on my channel but big thumbs up to you honestly !!
Just put my dough in the refrigerator It's a surprise for my husband who LOVES focaccia and has just lost 9kg (around 20 pounds) Edit: It turned out amazing! The easiest thing I've ever made, so versatile you can top it with anything you want He ate more than half of it as a quick sandwich lol and the rest is in the freezer still tastes amazing when reheated in the oven!
Made my first focaccia today using your recipe and I have to say, it was SO SATISFYING sticking my fingers into the dough after that second rise. Topped it with some caramelised onions and my family loved it!

I’ve made it 7 times now. I add cherry tomatoes, carmelized onions, rosemary, thyme and marinated artichoke hearts. I find it needs a longer cook time. 40 minutes works for me. So depends on oven. Awesome recipe. Thx.
Agreed, 25 mins was a little too short. Came out great though!
…I am so hungry now
I’d adjust the cooking time also to the thickness of the dough which depends on the shape of your baking dish.
when do you add those? before putting in the fridge?
I add them after I dimple it for baking. Make sure u rub all ingredients in olive oil b4 adding or they will burn.
I made this yesterday with 480 g flour (4 cups) and sprinkled rosemary on top before baking. Then ate it with homemade chicken salad. Oh my gosh scrumptious!
Had the same idea as you with rosemary.
Foccacia should be with fresh rosemary
U can add onions and olives on top
They make that way in Italy
it aint focaccia to me if it doesnt have rosemary!

I let mine double (3 hrs here in south Florida) and it’s fermenting now.
I have high hopes because I just haven’t had luck with sourdough starters. I’d like to add fermented bread back in the diet.
This will be my first try of Makin foccaccia.... So greatful I found this UA-cam - thank you -
I unexpectedly really enjoyed all of the glooping sounds. Thanks for the recipe!
Thank you for not adding crappy music. I always skip cooking videos with music!
I know! This times a million!
as a visual learner, this video was suuuuper helpful! I'm making a focaccia now - thank you!
Wow someone on UA-cam who actually knows what they're doing! Great recipe and technique, without any filler. Well done. 👌
OMG, this is the best format. I'm going to try your other recipe this week and this one next week. Thank you!
i tried the recipe and it turned out amazing!
Thank you for a very easy recipe that turned out beautifully! I followed a hint from one of the comments to add some warm water to the oil on top and this worked well.
OMG!!! This was the best recipe ever. Thank you so much. I cut the end of it and ate it while its warm.... heaven delicious and crunchy. Soooooo good.
This is my go to focaccia recipe! It’s uncomplicated and straight forwards and works all the time. I currently have some dough rising now!
Made half the recipe and it turned out perfect and it was eaten within half an hour so we made it again! And it sold out again! Thank you for a beautiful easy and satisfying recipe! 😃🎶🎊💐
And we're making it again today for tomorrow 🙌
I was waiting for you to dip the piece of bread in some olive oil😃...IL try this recipe..thanks for sharing🙏
This is an easiest n no music noises n bs story telling..thank you for this recipe sharing 😊
just pure WOW, i made this and i loved it. i added olives and rosemary in mine, tasted really good if you're thinking of other topics. Also it was a bit salty after i add the kosher sea salt ( i didn't have the flaky one) so you can skip it or add less salt in the dough. overall very easy to make for beginners such as myself.
Your video is so awesome. Simple. Clear. Well done! I am going to do it!!!!!
Love il ! I made it today . My husband adored it ! Thanks a lot for this great recipe 👌👍
We just made it and it’s so delicious. Thanks for sharing your recipe. It is definitely a keeper. We baked it with rosemary sprinkled on top. The bread is soft and chewy but it is also crispy on the outside. We will be making more of it in the future. Thanks again.
This is sheer beauty! 🥺
I’m going to make it right now! Thank you for this! Lots of love from INDIA! 🤗🥰
How did it turn out?
My go to recipe thank you so much for sharing. I saw a tip in the comments below to add water on top before baking and it comes out well. My favourite way to eat is to drizzle honey and salt on the bread after baking.
Wow just made two large focaccia using these instructions and recipe, so easy and such good results, if i could of made more it would all of gone! so pillowy on the inside and crunchy on the outside, it's a keeper.
This is my first time making focaccia and I just put mine in the fridge. Can't wait for 18 hrs to pass by
Im a teenager that used to be pretty bad at making bread but this was actually pretty simple and easy 😊 best video and recipe I’ve seen for first time making focaccia
Focaccia ain't crispy, I'm sorry!
Made this yesterday, perfect and way better than other ones I have tried. Totally easy too.
Best recipe of Focaccia I’ve ever tried. It was so easy and the end result was perfect
I love the focaccia made by my boyfriend. He usually adds some onions and bacons. That’s fantastic.
When does he add them?
Tree of trees After fermentation. Mix them with the dough.
Making bread takes more time and sincerity than cooking rice. Thank you.
I just used this recipe and put crushed whole tomatos, thyme & garlic on top. tastes great, thank you
It was also fun watching the dimpling part 😆
I have just made your recipe today and honestly it’s the best recipe ever I added zaatar and sea salt on mine and I will be sharing the recipe on my channel but big thumbs up to you honestly !!
the best 3 mins video ever...bravissima!
Just put my dough in the refrigerator
It's a surprise for my husband who LOVES focaccia and has just lost 9kg (around 20 pounds)
Edit:
It turned out amazing!
The easiest thing I've ever made, so versatile you can top it with anything you want
He ate more than half of it as a quick sandwich lol and the rest is in the freezer still tastes amazing when reheated in the oven!
Thanks for doing this without the music and 1 hour storytime!!! Perfect
I tried this recipe and it is very good. Best focaccia recipe by far. Thank you very much for sharing such a good focaccia repice to us.
I have just made this...so easy and turned out really good. Thank you for recipe! 😊👍
Made my first focaccia today using your recipe and I have to say, it was SO SATISFYING sticking my fingers into the dough after that second rise. Topped it with some caramelised onions and my family loved it!
