Mr. O'Neal, I have been watching your UA-cam offerings for some time now. I think it is very kind of you to share your vast knowledge gained from years of being in the trade. I enjoyed your shop and now on line. Helping those less fortunate is an admirable enterprise. I would love to go to the car boot sales you speak of as you find some great bargains there. There is a fair amount of money to be made searching for sterling flatware and hollowware that is heavily tarnished. Many tend to over look these items when a bit of polish would restore them to salable items. There is also scraping metals to raise cash if it is to damaged to be offered resale. Thanks again for sharing...

As someone else mentioned, EBay have dropped all fees for private sellers now, so we will have to wait and see if it improves things on there. I bought lots of jewellery at a boot sale recently for 50p an item, I like looking at jewellery but don’t really have much clue about it - I think the best pieces were a Czech necklace and some uranium glass beads.

If I had my time over again I would be very tempted to do this full time or as a sideline. Gold has taken a bit of a hit today but it will be a good time to buy. I remember going into a flea market many years ago and there were rows and rows of gold rings in a tray. I started buying gold about 3 years ago. Your videos a few years ago encouraged me to buy. It was a no brainer really. It is just part of my investments. A good spread is advisable. Great stuff. I love quality, after years of buying what I could only just afford.

Just yesterday, at the Flea, I paid $30 for a costume brooch, made of cheap metal. When I got home, I researched it. It's by a designer, and worth $750+, even with a few missing stones. That 1 piece paid for everything I bought, and left me with Profit too.

Hello Walter and thank you for putting out this video on jewellery of all types. I have been buying vintage jewellery by the bundle for at least ten years and have amassed a huge amount and as you said its not uncommon to find the odd bits and pieces of gold and silver but mainly silver. At the moment Im only stockpiling jewellery should the need arise for any kind of financial downfall I have a system in place. The amount of vintage stuff out there is enormous from brooches necklaces rings and even antique jewellery that only cost pence to a pound or so is there to be seeked out. As a bloke it has made me appreciate jewellery as I have never done so before I started collecting, so many pieces are beautifully crafted and are will always capture the eye of a buyer. Such a great video Walter and yes a perfect way to start findind buying and selling jewellery.

Great video as always. Have you seen as of today. EBay have got rid of all selling fees if you list under 300 items a month. Will really help me out 🙏 obviously people who list more than 300 a month isn’t helpful, 35p an item after 300. Thanks Rob.

The jewelerys you mention I have seen going for big money, however like you said in your latest video, Paypal will 100% be the reason I will not sell on Ebay.

personal capital gains allowance has been dropped to just £3000 this year , (in 2023 it was £6000 , and in 2022 it was £12000) you can also earn £1000 from hobbies before you need to declare tax on it , important if there is a digital record of your sales , example ebay

I have bought boxes of costume jewellery of eBay for a tenner a box. I used to be a photographer of pretty girls, and I would often buy the jewellery as accessories. I never paid more than £12 a box. Same goes for ladies lingerie. £6 for a set of bra and knickers. I've got an account of 500px, but I can't post a link.

Great video but when you mention buying boxes of jewellery - most people will of done what you do - searched it then resold it because it's rubbish
Obviously there will be some good buys still but most are too savey to let good stuff go

hi. thank you very much for your comment. while what you say is true to a degree, i have been doing this for decades and have accumalated kilos and kilo of gold and silver in this way. yes dealers will go through boxes at a car boot sale, but if your early you have a great chance at being one of the first in the box then just buy it all. the public have no clue what they are selling and for auctions, i always pull some scrap gold and silver out of job lots. check out my gold and silver videos i dont just say i bought it i show you maybe a hundred kilos of silver in the video.
