We used to go to Doe Hollow Delaware Water Gap, they take you up 13 miles and then you came back down stream...what a blast ... we be drinking, partying, fishing, realize we only gone1 mi into the trip have 12 miles to get back in time..lol
Haha! It’s fun to lose track of time on the river enjoying all the beauty and adventure on a trip!! We often end up chasing sunset to get to camp before dark!
I live minutes away from the river.. bears swim back and forth across the river all the time, so bears on an island are a possibility although less likely
That is so cool you live so close to this river! It’s beautiful. It was fun talking to some locals on the shore that were telling us where they see bear along the river. No luck for us but always glad when we miss them at camp.
This came up in my feed. Welcome to our part of Pennsylvania and our favorite river (we live near Smithfield Beach). The Delaware is the longest free flowing river on the east coast. The river is teeming with fish. Glad you enjoyed,
I agree bud, done many trips on the Allegheny and used Allegheny Outfitters twice. Great outfitter and we have their river book, very helpful when traversing the river. We'll do a few Allegheny River videos this summer.
Great trip! Thanks for bringing us along and sharing the information. I've been thinking about a Delaware trip for a while - you talked me into it. Where did you get the map with the campsites?
That's awesome! I'm happy you enjoyed the video and it gave you the push to go visit the gap, it's such a beautiful area! 1) ---I got the map I used in the video and for my trip here: www.loc.gov/item/93685364/ 2) ---Interactive nation park service map: www.nps.gov/dewa/planyourvisit/maps.htm 3) ---New map with zones and camping spots: www.nps.gov/dewa/planyourvisit/river-camping.htm The first day we were in the Delaware Water Gap we visited all of the waterfalls and while we did that, we picked up paper maps from the Park Offices.
Hi folks , New subscriber here. Great video, I'm sorry you had to pay a ridiculous amount of money for a campsite that obviously isn't monitored by a camp host . Bears are opportunistic hunters , if they know there's a chance for litter and food left behind , their on it . If people would be more respectful of nature we could all get along just fine . Be safe out there and keep the awesome videos rolling out !
Enjoyed the content. I understood having a shuttle drop you off but where did you get the car in the middle of this canoe trip ? Like with the bear encounter and crossing the bridge were recorded in a vehicle?
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the content! When we visited Delaware Water Gap we spent the first full day visiting all of the waterfalls (bushkill, raymondskill, crossing the bridge to buttermilk falls, etc.) and we had a forest roadside campsite booked for that night. There was a bear and it was pouring rain so we decided to get a hotel that night. The next day we started our 3-day paddling adventure. I threw some of the waterfall footage into the paddle trip footage. It probably makes the video a little disjointed, but I really enjoyed the waterfalls and wanted to include that footage.
We researched the area before we went to determine where camping was permitted. We viewed maps that show where you can camp on the river. We watched other people's UA-cam videos to see where they camped to see if we would like those spots.
I live in Riegelsville right on the Delaware. Be careful not to drink the water, there is something in the water that turns people into unhappy pink/blue haired activists. The river towns are completely infested.
i cant go down any creek or river around PA without seeing multiple bald eagles, i love the comeback they've made. makes my soul happy.
We agree! We saw 5 bald eagles yesterday when we paddled 11 miles on the Mahoning/Beaver River. They are majestic!
Agreed! I didn’t see a bald eagle in the wild until I was in my 30s. I get to show my daughter all the time. Makes my heart happy.
Thanks for sharing. Looking to do this next year!
We hope you enjoy this river as much as we did!
In my younger days, my friends and I did this every summer.
I can see why you made it a yearly adventure, it's such a beautiful river.
Cool video!
Awesome river tripping!
Thanks for sharing 😎
Thanks for watching!
I once got real excited because The Goonies was on TV, but it was actually LOS Goonies. Slight but significant difference.
Yooooo Patrick wuts up buddy! This is Eliott, OSU Jiujitsu!!!! Crazy finding you here, small world.
Nice time, thanks.

We loved paddling & camping on the Delaware river. What a great place to live.!!
We did the trip down the Delaware back in the 60s
Thats the freakin biggest black bear ive ever seen!
That thing was huge! We were glad we were in the car!
nice!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed our video.
I camped in the first site
That’s cool! We’d love to go back and try some other campsites.
alleghany outfitters are way cheaper and the mighty Alleghany river is awsome

Did a guy named Raymond fall down dem falls, to give it its name?🤔
0:23. What was that in the water?
@@cheezst8ke it's a beaver. There's more of him at 23:27
How do you determine where you can camp?
We researched the area before we went to determine where camping was permitted. We viewed maps that show where you can camp on the river. We watched other people's UA-cam videos to see where they camped to see if we would like those spots.
Um, bears can swim. An island is no safer.
I live in Riegelsville right on the Delaware. Be careful not to drink the water, there is something in the water that turns people into unhappy pink/blue haired activists. The river towns are completely infested.
Hotel? Please
We stayed at the Red Roof Inn, Stroudsburg. We’re lucky to find a room. Most hotels were booked up for the holiday weekend. We got the last room here.
I had to stop watching when you said you stayed in a hotel ha ha
