      Happy to. These episodes take a long time for me to get out since I work full time and I don't want to just cover the topics superficially. But I assure you I will do an episode on this!

      @barneyclancy4312 I am happy to. Is there any clinical context you want me to focus on? (E.g. in the context of cancer, heart disease, etc). Let me know so I can make sure I include any particular context you are interested in.

      @@vlmdrounds yes kinda , gonna sound dumb but, any way i could have a organ issue like kidney problem, for years and than cachexia? i don’t smoke or drink , 200 lb 6 foot, pain constant, lost lot of muscle in my arms, exhausted all the time .sleep 8 hrs wake up n ready too sleep in an hour, just wonder if i could maybe have an organ issue or cancer n not really know it. your video was very nice, explained so we can understand it

      @@barneyclancy4312 Absolutely NOT dumb at all. Kidney disease is often associated with sarcopenia and, if the sarcopenia is accelerated, it becomes cachexia. In many cases, if you correct the sarcopenia, the kidney function can improve. I don't know the specifics of your case so I can't comment. You can email me at my website and maybe I could send you some resources: vlmd@vyvyanelohmd.com

    Yes- please more on cancer cachexia.. especially in disabled population. They can’t do much physical activity.. so is Whole food plant based diet best option?

      @kardste8114 I will work on getting a video up on this. I don't have a team so everything has to be done by me and I am working full time, so please excuse time delays. I will definitely do an episode on this. With cachexia I do not generally recommend a plant-based diet to my patients. Since it is accelerated muscle loss under inflammatory conditions, people need the most bioavailable and nutritionally complete proteins sources and I prefer to use animal proteins (dairy and eggs for vegetarians) whenever possible.

    • @kardste8114
      @kardste8114 2 місяці тому

      @@vlmdroundsThank you!! But won’t animal proteins support cancer tumor growth via mTor, high cholesterol risk, more clotting risk, and more?
      I’d love to hear your thoughts on this for people who still live with active cancer and cachexia. Thank you! 💜🙏

      @@kardste8114 It's not only animal proteins that turn on mTOR. Many amino acids, cholesterol and other nutrients turn on mTOR. I would still prioritize proteins with cachexia. I will definitely focus on an episode on cachexia in the next few months. Stay tuned!

    Cardiac cachexia. My husband is going through it now following his last acute heart failure exacerbation. There if virtually no information about it.

    • @vlmdrounds
      @vlmdrounds  4 місяці тому +1

      @bevswright I am so sorry to hear that. Unfortunately most of the medical world sees it but doesn't address it and once past the pre-cachexia stage, it is really hard to treat. I have had so many requests to talk about this and I will do my best to get to it.

    Can this be reverse if treated early

    • @vlmdrounds
      @vlmdrounds  6 місяців тому +1

      Yes. But it does take careful attention to nutrition, exercise and also decreasing inflammation. Would you be interested in a video on this?
