- While most guitar brands are still cloning guitar designs from the 50s and 60s, a few brave companies have decided to pave a new path and create something totally unique. Here are my Top 6 oddly shaped guitars and brands. Some have taken inspiration from classic designs and flipped them on their head to create something fresh; while others have gone completely off the rails and designed something TOTALLY unique.

Great video! Yes- most of us are incurable guitar collectors, and many of us are looking for that one guitar that is unlike any of our other guitars.
The Bartlett models look like a cross between a Les Paul and a Gretsch. I have a Gretsch solid body, and while I chose it over the Les Paul for its more versatile sound, I really like the softened lines of it.
Don’t feel guilty about the D’Angelico headstock- I thought the same thing. To me, it looks like it belongs on top of a grandfather clock more than on a guitar. I do like their designs, though, with a touch of Art Deco style in the body lines.

My faves are my black/gold Rivolta Combinata like yours but with tremolo… the Yamaha Revstar is also fantastic and affordable for the quality.
I don't know why you got your like button disabled. Because you seem like a solid UA-camr, and that's coming from a guy who thinks there are too many UA-cam guitarists.
That Epiphone Moderne is my kind of funky. I really wanted one when they came out. They were only $600 at the time, but I couldn't afford it or even justify the cost if I'd been able to, since I can barely play, even still.
I have a reproduction of a Gibson Moderne, and an original late 90's Jackson Roswell. I have 91 other guitars - but they are all boring traditional shaped stuff - except for my experimental guitar builds - well, I do have a V, and I used to have a Randy Rhodes, but they're not very ergonomic (like V's). BC Rich probably pushed the envelope more than anybody else on non-traditional body shapes. What you'd call an odd shape I'd call boring traditional.
If it’s unusual shaped guitars your after, you need to look at BC Rich, especially the early days when Bernie Rico was designing the shapes, I’ve got a 1975 electric, it was only the 2nd model electric that he released, it’s the Seagull Junior, made less than 200. It’s really unusual, it’s an unbelievably great sounding and playing guitar.

The Moderne would be a lot cooler if it had a top fin (where a Les Paul switch is), without it I just looks all wrong.
..and a Dimebag Dean V shaped headstock, instead of fn Gumby! Lol
