20+ year union commercial electrician and it amazes me how many new things I learn about the trade on a daily basis. Did not know that some receptacles have a built-in wire stripper and didn't know that trick with the ground. I always know there are things to learn every day. I never claim to be all knowing. Things are ever evolving in the electrical trade. I appreciate these videos and videos like it.
😮 never knew it thank you for sharing it You are awesome. You make our life easier can never thank you enough for all of your posts! This is awesome I don't have to pull up handyman for dummies because of you because I am a big dummy! You make things simple easy and I hate redo's and the way you do it I will never have to redo anything
A feature I found on the residential outlet is on the back, by push in wire connection, there is a little slot below the wire hole. If you want to remove a wire, instead of struggling to pull the wire out, put a small blade such, as a screwdriver or just something small that will fit, in that slot to release the clamp on the wire - it will pull right out. I've been doing this for years and makes it a lot easier trying to remove a wire on an installed outlet.
As always, life saving information. Sometimes digging for tools take longer than using the features on the receptacles. Appreciate the information. Keep them coming.
@Fixthishouse Morning Jay, Is this feature Also on the combo "plate", for my bathroom has it together with the switch for turning on the lights in that 1 bathroom? Thanks So much for your Instructions and for taking the time to help us All. GOD Bless you 🙏 ❤ I pray You and your family are OK After those horrible Tornados & Insane Weather. Stay Warm/Safe L.V. Kris
some other unk. hidden features I USE at work, many recips can be used as Impact Wrenches, some have a car jump start feature, a few more have inflator/air pumps as well as 10000 lumen lights that last for hours on a single charge.... 99.9% of people DIDNT KNOW NOT EVEN PROS!
If you want on of the sockets to stay Hot, what side do you break the tab on? Does it have to be done on the Hot side, or can it be done on the neutral side?
Thanks! Excellent and very helpful.
Thank you so much! 🙏🏽😊
