    I've been cosmetologist/barber for many years. i did not attend Vidal Sassoon academy, however I was blessed to work with colleages who were trained through Sassoon and Martin Parsons whom I learned alot from. Eventually I trained with Aveda and became very skilled with both men and women's hair shaping. I'm still learning!
    i want to compliment you on your excellent skiills and all the tutorials you've created. Your knowledge of bone structure and both vertical and horizonal sectioning is superb. Also your teaching style is simple, classic and thorough. You've proved your dedication and did the homework to make yourself an master barber. I looking forward to more tutorials to keep me inspired and new! Cheers!

As a 53yo professional male, when I hear “are you a 3 or a 4” I just say thanks anyway and leave. I’m not a barber but I do enjoy learning from great teachers. It’s pretty much the same thing in a different order and yes that works perfectly fine as well. The main thing is that you have a plan in place for how you are going to get from the start of the haircut to the end.

    Thanks Michael! This method is a lot better for the older men in my shop (and I am from a small farming community so I see a lot of them) than a clipper cut, I find that their "spots" can get kind of irritated if you run a clipper over them too much. I'm sure you know what I mean. What product do you use to get that texture to stay? I really like it, but none of my texture combs produce an amazing pattern like that for longer than a little bit on dry hair. Is it a powder?

    • @theoneminutebarber
      @theoneminutebarber  9 місяців тому +3

      Thanks Brandon. There is no product in this. I simply combed it through with a Jack and Dean pompadour comb. It gives that amazing texture. But a bit of dust or hairspray would probably work well.

    Easy as....and yes, its a very common haircut. It was the first thing i learned to do. Your explanation will be good for beginners :) These days I tend to clipper over comb the sides and back and scissor cut the top and blend top into sides with scissor over comb......lots of ways to achieve the same thing though....

    I was wondering when a new video was coming: nice surprise. Even though I'm not a barber by trade, when I cut my adult son's hair, I tend to use the Reuzel sectioning method. I appreciate the close up of the guide & I had to laugh, you did something with the comb that I saw a lady barber do just the other day: a sort of upward combing/flipping of the hair before catching it in the comb to cut.
