      Thought: with so many myths and legends about worldwide floods... Why? Why would anyone ever say that there was one unless some human was there for it?

    • @loki2240
      @loki2240 7 місяців тому

      @@theautonomous- People make up stories. People repeat other people's stories and change details (unintentionally and intentionally). There are a lot of flood stories because people have tended to live near bodies of water for hydration, food, irrigation, travel, etc. and those bodies of water have flooded. That's not valid evidence of any global flood, and we don't have any valid evidence of any global flood occurring while our species or any other human species existed. Not only that, the geological and biological evidence that we do have contradicts the notion that there was such a flood.

    • @JohnthemapguyADHDMe
      @JohnthemapguyADHDMe 7 місяців тому +1

      Have you heard of the dark ages?? They are spaces in time where documentation is scarce where years don’t get recorded properly. Technically speaking it’s not 2024. Also given the times back then they could very easily have been given different numbers from different people, there are many dates and calendars for different types of years. For instance in Hindu it’s the year 1944 but in Islam it’s 1444. Its very very easy for dates like that to get intertwined with other culture making dating without science a hard thing to do

    • @djphlange
      @djphlange 7 місяців тому

      @@JohnthemapguyADHDMe everything you said I understand and my point still stands. The dates and times they're referring to have nothing to do with different calendars or anything but almost doubling the age of the supposed flood.
      Now maybe it did happen back then, or maybe it happened more towards the bibles time frame but it's changing the story in order to fit a more modern lens when the Bible is pretty specific as to when it happened as you can count back. The Jewish words for days and years coincide with normal days and years and are gap years or anything like that.
      You can choose to believe the story or not, I'm not arguing that but they don't have to change the dates and story so drastically

    • @JohnthemapguyADHDMe
      @JohnthemapguyADHDMe 7 місяців тому

      @@djphlange the ice caps literally is the worlds timeline, it shows dates of and events of past weather events like if more fresh water came into the ocean or if less did. The amount of water has stayed the same since commits hit the earth millions years ago, the scientists know If a year had a lot of perspiration by how big the layer of ice is. They can also find bacteria that’s from 10,000 years ago or older

    • @djphlange
      @djphlange 7 місяців тому

      @@JohnthemapguyADHDMe that's assuming that you believe the billions of years theory.
      For instance, you would assume that every layer on ice is a year right?
      Well in the 40s , the Americans lost a plane in Greenland and they found it buried under what would have been "thousands and thousands" of years worth of ice...but that obviously can't be true.
      Some stuff scientisits can measure and observe for sure but they're wrong quite a lot of the time and/or misinterpreting things. Just because there was more water at some points or not doesn't change the fact of this video changing dates and facts of the story that he's referring to

    You left out Manu, the lawgiver from ancient Indian lore. He caught a talking fish who warned him of the impending flood & instructed him to build a large boat & gather pairs of animals.
    Rather than interpret all these flood stories as meaning there must have been great floods, perhaps the tellers of these stories were simply plagiarizing the works of other storytellers. Everyone loves a good disaster story! ✌🏼
