The processors in laptops run better on non Apple/Mac devices - even when they are the same exact processor. Basically they are dialed down at the factory, also via updates. In other words, but Apple/Mac and never quite get anywhere near what you as paying for. Graphics cards are the same exact way for Apple/Mac. Just how much does it add up to? Keep an Apple/Mac under any type of moderate load for just one to five minutes, and it throttles considerably. At least ten percent, in a number of cases over 25 percent. Adds up in no time,. but especially adds up over time.
More like in 3-4 years they will put on a tiny heat pipe like the RP1 but smaller and less efficient, like some other manufacturers like Huawei (on the Mate 20 X) are doing, and call it "Water Cooling" or something like that. Then all the iSheep will feel superior about the "Innovative new cooling tech that is groundbreaking and no one has ever come close to the performance of Apple's new cooling solution."

Apple don’t need it. They don’t need such cooling for their chips to make them faster than the Snapdragon. When you have efficiency, you don’t need fixes like this.

I bought one for my son. Unfortunately it's also one of the hottest even with the copper plate. After 10 minutes gaming at max cpu and frame rate, it literally got too uncomfortably hot for him to hold on to. We were disappointed to say the least. When set to standard fps and cpu it stays cool, but then again so does his S9 plus. In the end by mutual consent we returned the Razer. We've decided to try the new ASUS ROG phone instead. Maybe it will be better and it even has a separate cooler that comes with it. Given the size of that cooling plate I'm really surprised this happened.. Maybe size ISN'T everything.. Lolol!
@@brianmsahin I got the 512gb version. Absolute beast of a phone and the aesthetics please my nerdiness but without the external cooler it will get pretty warm while gaming. I haven't tried that many titles yet but between games like the Asphaults, Star Ocean Amnesis, Monster Hunter Stories, Chaos Ring 3 and Tekken it'll get pretty warm all around the phone probably in about 30 mins if I had both in-game and phone settings maxed out. Stuff like brightness at max, wide color gamut on, HDR mode on and the overclocking X Mode on for the phone and for games to have as highest graphics and for as possible. The external fan definitely helps with cooling the exterior especially the back where it's frosty and helps reduce heat in the front a good bit where at every setting maxed it just gets slightly warm, which is urprising since the air circulation is pretty much just blowing at the back of the phone. Never tried pubg or fortnite before but I guess I'll try eventually since the phone's been advertised for games like that. The phone doesn't come without flaws though. Stuff like the official case is definitely not screen protector friendly, BT works fine on almost everything but my dang car for some reason, and my power bank with built in USB c cable and quick charge 3.0 does not work with my ROG phone.

nah, personally I'm not impressed. I bought this phone thinking gaming would be great, but it's so dull. the experience isn't emersive like in my Galaxy s10+. I gave this phone to my 5 year old brother and he can play his angry birds on it but that's about as good as it gets.

Razer Phone 2 has wireless charging so charging and using headphones at the same time is possible, but wireless charging pads and new USB-C headphones will add up to the price of the phone and, in return, you'll get a fucking radiator ( which does not charge as fast as wired chargers do) and zero difference in sound quality.

I love how the copper heat sync had loads of small diamond shaped it's really smart since the surface area is dramatically increased therefore more heat can be absorbed in the same overall area of the copper square heat sync combine that with liquid then that shit is a monster
I'm pretty sure the diamond mesh in the middle is just used as a spacer so the water vapor can travel further, the copper mesh right up against the walls of the cell do have a large surface area though (since the mesh acts as a wick to allow cooler liquid onto warmer parts of the vapor chamber).
It's both, it's a vapor chamber that acts as a heat sink or a heatsink designed as a vapor chamber, whichever you prefer. Its job is still to just dumping most of the processor heat into the screen and battery (and being a vapor chamber helps a lot with this).
Another thing to note is the powdered textured inside of that heat sink. Even on such a small level, that microscopic dimpeling is incrasing surface area to exchange heat. THAT is awesome.

you should just seal up that copper chamber with some super glue, dry it out first, a large piece of copper is still a good heatsink. really excited to see an actual working vapor chamber in a phone!
