  • The quest to get my NC MX5 "Track Car" back on the road after the MOT man condemned it as too rusty and full of holes. I have no expertise or experience. Let's go!
Episode 17 sees work start and finish on the front inner sill as well as a few suspension polybushes.

Nice progress Chris. Once it's on the road next series V8 engine swap.

Ref. the thoughts about delaying the MOT and track days return. What might the impact be on my gift of passenger laps???

You would have to read the small print. I think the vouchers are indefinitely valid

Did you drain the fuel tank before starting cutting, welding, grinding and using the blowlamp? If so how did you go about it and did you warn anyone not to copy without draining first?

I didn't drain the tank. It certainly would be safer to, but I don't think it's particularly dangerous. If I was working much closer to the tank then this would be a different story.
As a side note, I worry for anyone who would follow my series as a guide 😅
