We didn't see it but Captain marvel should have seen/felt something this big just before it happened as she generally has precognition. It is hard to imagine the dread feeling such a large scale unavoidable catastrophe coming.

It's not. Both Avengers and Thanos could win instantly in many different ways, plot hinges on heroes being really dumb, power levels are all over the place, and Strange's plan is a lazy writer's excuse.

Endgame is a serviceable ending. Not perfect and full of holes, that is to be expected with anything concerning time travel, but truly a passionately made movie. Can't say the same for most of what Marvel's pumping out nowadays.
