By how I interpret it, you can view mechanics like the "conqueror" trait as the character receiving an "enlightenment" rather than having an innate or aquired skill/talent You can do wonders without having an enlightenment/eureka moment but if you do have it, you will be way more effective
I got conqueror as genghis, then a mongol empire event aswell as another conqueror trait event somehow, and then I took the decision to become khan of khans because it was still available, absolutely crazy, great work on the video, you are the best CK3 youtuber imo
Aw, man, I was wondering why I couldn't get Conqueror after absorbing all of Europe, but African warlords down south half my size did. I had a few allies...
At first, when the update came out, shortly after starting a new game with Haesteinn, I managed to do it. But it's the only time I've done it, and I've had more games where I'd say I had a higher chance. Great video!
Was playing a game with two of my buddies and I got this while playing as Kingdom of England, started as Wessex. Never saw it before then. We were all pretty impressed with the buffs. It seems pretty hard to trigger, now I feel lucky!
8:47 I am fairly sure this is about the Economical Archetype, and not the character personality. It changes from Cautious to Unpredictable between the two different heirs.
I've had the Fated Child event several times, and my best analysis of it is that it's weird. First off, it can happen to an ineligible heir very easily (like your daughter as a Muslim ruler), and it basically just seems to increase their chances of being more skilled, as far as I could tell - but only with some minor bonuses. With the alternate destiny choice, I did notice that one was the choice to switch to adventuring, but my sample size is far too low to infer anything of significance. With eligible heirs, it seems that if you don't let them inherit, they also don't get the full benefit, so it would behoove you to make that child your primary heir. I have a few more data points here, but cannot say that making the beneficiary of this event your primary heir always confers the benefits, or that if they aren't that they don't get further boosts or events. Maybe I should play a Baranis character though... I've thought about it, so if there's an event linked to that culture, I'm interested in seeing it.
yesterday i was playing as a greek ruler, made bosporian kingdom and at 30 years old i got conqueror trait somehow, i was like wtf xd and with this charapter i conquered 8 kingdoms and made bosporian empire :D today i randomly catch your video and now i know a chance of this broken trait xd thanks you, useful video
Hi ive just found your channel and i really appreciate in all your ck3 vids how you explain what your doing and why your doing it. I have been playing ck3 for awhile but have trouble after a few heirs down with containing power and losing gold. Your vids are super informative and entertaining and it helps me a bunch, thankyou!
Great video. Nobody else has covered this topic so well, and the wiki article is extremely lacking. There was a steam discussion about it, but I think it might be a bit outdated, or just incomplete.
I would love to see you tackle conversion mods. My personal favorite two are Shogunate and AGOT, but since I always see people talk about AGOT my personal preference would be more eyes on Shogunate.
Played as Saffarids, immediately got Conqueror (not saying this is the reason) after stackwiping Tahirids army. No less than 1 year after I started the game
Man I realy love your videos, could you also make video explaining child education mechanics, how to get the shwred trait, the destined for glory event chain etc.
I got it twice in a row, one of which my son did not manage to outlive my ruler. Rest in peace Roman, you didn’t success the throne, but you will forever be the greatest to rule the baleo-tirena…
They should do a work around so that way you have to conquer a weaker state first and if you meet the requirements you can get the trate if you get lucky
Super informative video! And I'm not all the way through so sorry if you end up covering this later, but I wonder -- does choosing the "Immortal" trait impact the conqueror odds at all?
Will also just say -- thank you for putting the time into investigating this. Was definitely growing annoyed with the fact that it wasn't clear how to get conqueror outside of being landless. Definitely subbed off the strength of this video. Another question -- if you have a primary heir and disinherit them, can the next primary still obtain the trait?
I got one without even meaning to and it has been passed down through 6 genorations without me doing anything special to prevent it from getting lost, i had no idea it has so many requirements
So I had 2 saves with the conqueror trait once as Asturias in 867 and as a ruler just east of Kazaria idk why I got it that often but both play throughs were fun
I got it within 15 min of my game play. Played as one of my viking forefathers (The Danes/ Danish) 🇩🇰 and I was raiding Sweden🇸🇪🔥 (of cause) when I got it.
Turns out I was quite lucky. I played a new savegame with my girlfriend (yes that's possible for Crusader Kings III addicts) and I got it on second generation after game start with a female christian feudal ruler. It was insane. I played as a duke in HRE and participated in the splintered crusade actually winning the Empereor title. Then I died and one of my sons inherited but I played as my daughter who led a rebellion and conquered the Empire shortly after our father has passed. I didn't even had ambitions to grow much further than having my birthright realm but the game just gave me the conquerer trait
I got a birthright yesterday as an heir to a custom Messalian Norwegian in Iceland. There were 3 events boosting prestige and stress gain, then I lost it. No idea what to do with it.
A scourge of the gods conquerer got all of india and a bit of tibet. Another conquerer got all of north africa as abbasidia (the etheopian comptic kingdom). Meanwhile i was chilling as lotharingia
Personally, I think the best gamerule combo is strong only + a small/medium boost to conqueror spawn rate, player elligible and no inheritance/small chance of inheritance if thats possible, personally inheriting conqueror doesn't make sense for me, especially when the title has an elective title, it's only cool when post-mongol empire states (Chagatai, Illkhanate etc) get it since it buffs their rather unstable nations.
In order to get the scourge of the gods modifier you need to enable them in the settings before you start a game. You can choose between the default conqueror buff or they get additional bonuses like the scourge of the gods buff.
Why can't I invite a conqueror to my wars? I was allied to Denmark and I couldn't even invite them. At least there should be an option to invite them and if they refuse, they lose fame just like players
It is a feature of conquerors that is explicitly spelled out in game. This is a good thing because you wouldn't want one to answer the call of an NPC against you, would you?
@@vaultboy6911you're asking if your allies can call you in as a conqueror? Yes they can but you can choose to ignore them. and the prestige hit is not even a problem due to the almost absurd amount that you can generate per month.
Very interesting if i become a conqueror as a player and then die, with scourage of gods setting for all conquerors - will my heirs become conquerors with scourage of gods or not?🤔
Thank you for this great analysis. This feature is an example of "sherlocking" by Paradox, since it's directly lifted from various mods, some of which have also a "conqueror" in the title. I find this feature underwhelming, since it doesn't base the selection of conquerors on historical accuracy and circumstances (e.g., like mod 'Historical Invasions' and such), but just randomly assigns the trait "Conqueror" to anybody meeting some generic criteria. While it allows for more dynamic gameplay, it also ruins immersion, if there is suddenly a very unlikely conqueror conquering half of Asia or something.
I had to turn this setting way lower because damn uncivilized Eastern Europe savages kept becoming Conquerors and ruining my Tall Ryazan Duchy runs in the 867 start and it was fucking annoying.
I spent 200+ years conquering half the known world but apparently not a conqueror. Very aptly named trait.
You are a map painter, not a conqueror.
@@vladm2364 Don't know if you noticed but that's exactly what rulers with the conqueror trait do. Because map painting is literally conquering.
@@pimmpslapdude its a joke😭

Isn't Haesteinn feudal? Also is a Brave and Ambitious? One of the best historical characters for conqueror is Haraldr of Vestfold.
Was playing a game with two of my buddies and I got this while playing as Kingdom of England, started as Wessex. Never saw it before then. We were all pretty impressed with the buffs. It seems pretty hard to trigger, now I feel lucky!
I got the child modifier (destined for glory) very often. So becoming a great conqueror seems to be easier than thought.
thank you very much for the infos.
i got the trait, i don't even know how, than kept it for 5-6 generations before losing it
I’ve gotten the fated child in one run of my 3,500 hours. I actually passed him up for my other son that had pure blooded trait.
Mate, this is so deeply informative ℹ️ thank you so much for your great work!
Very informative about the Conqueror trait of Crusader Kings 3, thank you

I recently started my game in Africa and got both conquerer and fate of destiny (or something) in one life... I didn't know it was so unliky to happen
I became conqueror almost every single save I played. I guess it's because I really like going with the Martial Education.

I did in my Sayid zoroatrian Run. 1 war for independence and i got it .
Welp, I always have allies and rarely have enough gold
I got this once in about 100 hours, while playing as a Roman Hellenic. I was already an emperor so +5 gold wasn't too much of a difference.

Can you please do a guide about the new scheming mechanic ? Mine always gets me exposed, and I’m in the point of quitting the game for this reason
I have 167 hours on this game and I have never got the trait. That's insane
Slightly more hours - but the „no allies AND not be at war“-detail may explain at least my experience
Not to gatekeep or something, but given the depth of the game, 167 hours is not much...
@@bertramtruger7386 mine too. I am always allied to someone to some extend
agree. The game is huge. I always learn new stuff
Well the trait is fairly new, as it was only introduced to the game this september
Ok, but what if you get the trait the landless adventurer become conqueror decision? How does scourge and all that apply in that instance?
In order to get the scourge of the gods modifier you need to enable them in the settings before you start a game. You can choose between the default conqueror buff or they get additional bonuses like the scourge of the gods buff.
This trait was added due to a ck3 mod. It’s on steam workshop but outdated.
Does the strong trait only conqueror mean that if you get the trait you can only retain it until you’re 35 as well?
When i was playing a campaing as West Francia, i had the "luck" of the HRE Emperor getting this trait. It was horrible
No allies means I also can't make alliance with my own vassals?
Next we need a BreadGod Guide on admin governments!
Love your guides do you have one forming your own religion?
Loved all your in depth videos but one quetion, what's up with the audio? it keeps changing from one section to another.
Why can I not make my character a conqueror in character creation?
Can you share the event ids for all of the conqueror things. Thank you!
also scourge of god too
I always get it dumped on me on my first xharacter whenever I want to build tall and not expand
Just create a blond Greek guy named Alexander with this trait and the content will create itself
The no alies requirement is not true, I did not have allies and I got the conqueror trait.
Does it matter if I have an alliance with my vassal?
Why can't I invite a conqueror to my wars? I was allied to Denmark and I couldn't even invite them. At least there should be an option to invite them and if they refuse, they lose fame just like players
