FINALLY, actual, legitimately great news for Star Wars games - coming directly from Lucasfilm! I'm not saying it's the time to get hyped, I'm certainly not saying it's time to get REALLY hyped, and I'm definitely not saying it's time to get EXTREMELY hyped... but the future of Star Wars games is looking good. Hopefully we get some official Star Wars related announcements from EA in the near future.

If EA kept support for battlefront 2, we could've had a mandalore map with Ahsoka and Ventress and tons of skins from clone wars season 7 and they could've added Navarro with Mando and Moff Gideon. I am super happy with this news and I am looking forward to see what they announce and when.
Christophsis with ahsoka and ventress, coruscant with padme and cad bane, and umbara as a bonus map along with multiple new skins are what I would have loved to see, (imagine an obi wan skin where he wears his red mandalorian outfit).

I think it's alright, it makes sense to axe Battlefront 2 support because next gen just came out. It would fit to replace it with a sequel with ray-tracing etc. and have a good launch, without P2W elements, and they could also earn a good amount of money from the new release.

@@DrGordonHouse Modern Disney won't do a sympathy for the devil story especially with the vocal minority on social media that think fictional stories = ideological endorsements. Mayfeild from Mando is probably the closet your going to get. He was an imperial hitman and has no quarrel killing New Republic officers... but he could no longer support the Empire after Operation Cinder killed billions of people including his own comrades. He has a line in the sand he won't cross.

Overall it was a great trilogy of games, yup even SWTOR is amazing (it was the first I played so I am biased) it just suffered from 2017 Battlefront II syndrome. The games have attained a cult status, a remaster is probable (nothing said, it is just possible), they are working on new Mass Effect (and a remaster of the trilogy so I am told) so who knows. I for one can see them selling as much, if not more, games with a KotOR remake as they did with a flight sim (even EA having a flight sim shows a sort of renaissance, they could easily follow up with a tOR set game.).

@@RIPDixie1865 I can see that, though I always felt the TOR era always felt more separated from the main story than your Yuuzhan Vongs and your Mara Jades (which adding in is near impossible without it feeling... pushed). KotOR and it's sequels did have some continuity problems (especially with the Revan book which felt like a total divorce from the era) but hey so does the rest of the story.

Battlefront 2 was in the top 10 for weekly sales on steam a week or two ago so I hope that shows EA that there is definitely still interest in the series.
with all the stuff comming in the mandalorian season 2 i still can't believe that EA did such a stupid decision with Battlefront 2, we could have Dark Troopers! Mando as a hero, new skin for Boba, Clone Wars season 7 content, Ahsoka with Clone Wars, Rebels and now Mandalorian skins! Such a waste for the franchise

Imagine this: mandalorian game, it'd be red dead, mixed with star wars mixed with no mans sky, star wars setting, open world in the style of red dead, and space travel of no mans sky
You forgot just cause and maybe some exploration in the style of fallout.
The just cause capture the fort could be inplemented the same way black flag did the forts, it wouldnt be main quest stuff but would still give you benefits.
Instead of forts there would be imperial space outposts.

the closest thing you'll get is fortnite. it's limited and only has the jetpack and the sniper/staff and you need to spend about 8$ for The Mandalorian outfit but I'm still having a blast rn with this collab

Probably unlikely. Games made specifically as adaptions of popular tv shows generally don’t do well (mainly because developers think the name alone will sell and leave it bare bones). They would have make a fully fleshed out open world bounty hunter game with tons of RPG mechanics, exploration, customization, etc. it’d be possible (maybe in a monster hunter or Witcher 3 style where you hunt down bounties BUT ALSO have a main story track to follow), but the other issue is in attracting a huge crowd when you’re stuck playing a Star Wars game without any of the cool force powers. The Mandolorian’s success alone couldn’t alleviate this in the minds of publishers because a lot of the shows viewers probably don’t even play video games. It’s really a tossup. Boba Fett’s always been insanely popular and he’s getting a new original. Maybe the success of that will make them get the ball rolling.
You're wrong on so many levels!
1) It would need to be an adaptation of the show. It would just need to include some characters here and there.
2) Being a bounty hunter does not preclude you from being Force sensitive. You could implement unrefined, Force sensitive anticipation in shootouts. It could even be a class of character.
3) Jedi might have Force powers but Mandalorians have jetpacks!
A game in the vein of Red Dead 2 in space is a no-brainer!

@@eiswithmilk there's just a lot of inconsistencies about things like the size of the rebellion (it varies from being described as a force large enough to hold worlds in the galactic core while other works claim that they were literally the size of the fleet during ROTJ), the galaxies knowledge of Vader and Palpatine (sometimes it seems as if Vader is a widely known enforcer of the emperor while other times it is shown as if people have no idea what he is. Palpatine is sometimes shown to hide his sith identity while other times he appears to flaunt it), the status of the empire post endor (sometimes it is said that the empire made a treaty with the New republic and continued to exist in the far reaches of the outer rim up until TFA, other times it is said that they were completely defeated after Jakku, and now the mandalorian has put it somewhere in between which is by far the best option)

1. There was never any definite number on the size of the rebellion, the galaxy is vast and in it existed many individual cells of guerilla fighters on distant worlds that didn’t take orders from a governing hierarchy... Saw Gerrera and his band just being one of many examples
2. Again the galaxy is vast, it’s not all one interconnected web. There were many distant planets in the outer rim that never interacted with the inner worlds, there were many planets that had never seen or heard of Jedi even during the height of the Republic. Most who encountered Darth Vader in the days of the Empire didn’t live to tell the tale. You could imagine how word doesn’t get around that well through an entire galaxy... and I’m not sure Palps was **ever** known to tell someone his true identity, let alone boast of it...
3. The peace treaty after the battle of Jakku you speak of still exists. The remnants of the Empire is still consistent with the sequels. The New Rebublic won the civil war on Jakku, but that didn’t immediately stop the small bands of loyalists scattered across the galaxy just stop existing. It’s the same remnants of the Empire in the Mandalorian that will evolve into the First Order, perhaps we will even see the loyalist Enric Pryde from Rise of Skywalker in a episode of The Mandalorian
I get the feeling a lot of the discrepancies is between canon material and the extended universe, which was widely regarded as canon for many years until Disney took over in 2012... kinda sucks but just the way it is, there’s a lot of Star Wars content out there that just simply isn’t canon anymore, and sometimes it’s easy to mix the two up
@@eiswithmilk I only follow canon and in regards to the rebels I am talking about main line rebel forces that work directly under alliance command. In a lot of stories including the main comic line we see that the rebellion is basically just one fleet minus the other cells but in other works we hear about the alliance literally invading the entire mid rim before the empire strikes back and we also hear that during the battle of endor the alliance was defending the core from the empire (which just makes no fucking sense even if we account for the vast number of rebel cells). With Palpatine we see him actively try to hide his true appearance from the public but in the comics he literally goes on live air in front of billions of people with his face completely visible. The Vader thing is ridiculous because everyone is shown to know who Vader is during that one post endor Leia novel where a political rival reveals that she is the daughter of Vader and the entire galaxy flips their shit but meanwhile we see that in the novel From A Certain Point Of View that the rebels ay scarif legitimately had no idea what the hell they were looking at when Vader was at the end of the hall. The treaty that allowed for the empire to continue existing after jakku has been disregarded by the mandalorian
How bout the fact that through out the whole history of star wars you couldn't jump a ship near a large gravity mass but then poe jumps the falcon in to atmosphere?

We only have his RotJ look, when his armor was a different color and had a pistol holder in ESB, which is way more than enough to get a second skin if we compare it to Chewbacca having two of the same skin minus an arm bandage. We also got 3 new looks from The Mandalorian. Scarred(his new look without the armor), Rightful Owner(him with his armor back, damaged), and Reborn(New paint job, armor is actually attached to his black robes instead of having the harness holding it together.
Gave up on it months ago, already have everything I need and there's no future updates coming so theres nothing motivating me to play it.

I’m 3 weeks late but this is gold
I quit battlefront 2 after playing it for almost 2 years with no updates or them adding anyone. It got so boring playing the same thing over and over
Star wars battlefront 2 still had a huge issue, there was no server browser. It took me nearly 20 mins to find a game with players or to wait for a lobby to fill up. Hopefully they will add it next game. Also rly hoping that dice can pump out a new battlefield and battlefront game next year without messing up one or the other.

imagine a Star Wars game that is online on Tatooine, kind of like GTA but the races from GTA would be a pod race in this game, jabbas palace could be like the nightclub from GTA, and the canteen could be another business. you would also get to create your own character at the start but it has to be a bounty hunter, you could make your own Mandolorian, IG-88 type droid, or even a Greto thing.

What I'd really like is a strategy oriented version of Galactic Conquest from BF1 and 2. What I mean is like BF1 where you fight on two maps to take a planet, but ramped up to more than that. Like BF2 where you purchase things like fleets and bonuses, but add buying things like TX-130 Divisions or adding commando squads to your assault force. Just a rough idea, idk.
