It’s looking good in a short amount of time. The fun part will be the landscaping, at least for me it’s fun. I can’t believe you’re running both of those DC engines off of that Bachman power supply, mine started get a little warm when I tried that, the internal breaker popped twice 😱😂😂 I switched to DCC, plus the sounds and lighting effects are great. Keep up the good work, Ron
enjoying on a lazy Saturday morning with breakfast. The dog is adorable. I look forward to seeing the mountain and love the sound effect you have added.
Wow Ken, that is one great layout. You are certainly learning more and more each week and this one is going to be great. Thanks for playing engineer for all of us wanna be's.
Mountains add a lot of visual appeal to any layout. Part of the appeal of the layout is watching the trains transit the helixes. Please don't hide too much of them! Love the work you are doing. It's a great hobby isn't it!
Ken if you are at all like me the fun is in building the different track layouts and gradients. Watching the trains go round is nice but the moment I reach that stage I’m thinking “what I can do to improve or change it to make it better?”
The locomotive sound track is a great feature! How about making some stand alone (two dimensional) rock faces to stand up at the back where the table meets the green screen. Just six or twelve inches high they can be moved around to suit a variety of layouts. (Just pieces of scrap MDF will do with some gravel and moss to disguise the wood painted dark grey maybe)..
Hey, Ken. I'm telling you a secret if you take another piece of blood wood and cut it just bigger in your circle that you cut out of your nail and you want to take that deal that whole lout and end, put it in what you can do is take another piece of plywood and cut your circle just. Bigger than that and tack it underneath your circle to where your sticks out a little bit. And then you set your circle that you cut out down in there and then you just remove it or replace it that way. Nothing will fall through the hole
Great 👍 just a suggestion you can slide dunny roll toilet paper inner cardboard over your timber under the track they pretty much fit perfectly under the ez track and paint them grey like concrete pylons I put them under my track and no timber inside they are very strong when spaced out correctly 😊
@@Kens265 easy enough just get a small strong permanent magnet, like a good fridge magnet or notice board magnet the stroke it in ONE DIRECTION around each metal driven wheel for just a couple of minutes each and they will quickly inherit the magnetism. (You can also do it to screwdrivers and toy slot car racers) you will then find the wheels will adhere quite strongly to the metal tracks, and that should provide you with the additional traction that you seek…
Looking so cool. I really like the elevation changes ... super sharp. I can imagine the mountain pass. Going to be interesting watching you bring it up one level at a time. Seems like quite a challenge.
I didn't see those three holes in your train set-up coming. That was great when you had painted the pieces and put the blocks under the helix. Cool, so there will be mountains. That was what I thought you had said. This was fun to watch Ken. I'm starting to see your vision for this track.
Hey Ken - in a previous video you said tell you what size our layout is and mine is 8x12, but mine is 2’ wide shelves with a large hole to walk in the middle. 4 sections of 2’x8’ but put into a rectangle, so I didn’t need to cut out the circles and can still reach everything! I am enjoying your videos so far.
Too cool! I like it when they converge at that point before separating. Are you going to try and connect this table with the back table. That would be amazing. Thank you!
When you use a blower instead of a vacuum - where does the dust go? EVERYWHERE. Please reconsider and choose the vacuum, unless you’re blowing leaves outside 😅! Your new layout looks fascinating!
This is a bass-ackwards way to build MRR benchwork.. Shoulda looked into 'open grid' or 'L girder' benchwork before laying a flat ply surface then cutting large holes in it.. Where are your industry spurs, sidings, yards, engine house, tangents ? ..... OK, everybody ! Beat me up for being honest !! It may be fun now. But....
Ken why not just turn them over and write on the underside in the first place.. you are doing things in double when you do not need to and making work for yourself.... and you need to put some camber on the tracks as they wind upwards and then again downwards to help the trains stay on the tracks as they wind their way along the elevated sections. So what are the grade rises for the helices? And please enough with the fake recorded train sounds.... they are not even in sync with your train movements...
It’s looking good in a short amount of time.

Thanks
I love watching you do your work on your layout and I am looking forward to seeing it when it is all done xx
Thank you so much!
I wish we lived closer. Id love to spend some time with you talking about Carpentry and Railroading
Bummer that would be fun
enjoying on a lazy Saturday morning with breakfast. The dog is adorable. I look forward to seeing the mountain and love the sound effect you have added.
Good morning! Thank you so much
The layout is looking very nice! Kaiya needs an engineer hat!
Haha absolutely
Wow Ken, that is one great layout. You are certainly learning more and more each week and this one is going to be great. Thanks for playing engineer for all of us wanna be's.

Good day to all.
Good morning

Many thanks! It sure is
Ken your layouts are definitely showing your improving skill level, how about a building label Ken's Garage.
So much to learn
I love this layout so far, can’t wait to see what you come up with next. It really looks great Ken.
Thanks so much

Haha! That is so true.

Yes. I think once the track is laid I will know the elevations better
WOW ... Thats going to be really cool 😳👍
Thanks

It's looking good Ken, Keep on training.
Haha thanks
Good to see you having fun as you go . Keep your videos coming..
Thanks, will do!
Nice job Ken looks great Have a great weekend enjoy those trains
Thanks 👍
Nice work Ken like the way it ts going. Take care.
Thanks, you too!
Ken don't remove the sound effects. In sync or not they add to the fun and sound pretty good too.
Thanks. I don’t want scale perfect. For me it wouldn’t be as enjoyable
Great 👍 just a suggestion you can slide dunny roll toilet paper inner cardboard over your timber under the track they pretty much fit perfectly under the ez track and paint them grey like concrete pylons
I put them under my track and no timber inside they are very strong when spaced out correctly 😊
Thanks that’s an interesting idea
Coming along well.. fun times
Thanks definitely
Wow Ken your layout is at a hole new level! 👍😊
Haha funny
looks like you're having a lot of fun!
Yes definitely. Thanks for watching
Hey Ken Do You Think You should Have Used Woodland Scenery Risers?
Probably would have been better. I’m just looking at my costs and already the wood.
Ken if your getting spin just magnetise the driving wheels.
Really how do you do that?

Tolle Sache mach weiter so 👏🏻👋🙋♂️🤗
Thanks I appreciate it
I think you've done very well, can't wait to see how you get another track in there!
Thanks
Beautiful! I love the sound effects
Glad you like them!
you look like a happy kid.
Haha yup
Looking great
Thanks!
Having fun
Definitely thanks for watching
I am wanting to build a small layout over my desk. Do you think a ho layout could fit on a 2ft x 6ft layout?
Maybe in N scale. I think HO needs more width
Waiting on level 2 ..Off to work I go ,🌴😎
Yep still scratching my head
Too cool! I like it when they converge at that point before separating. Are you going to try and connect this table with the back table. That would be amazing. Thank you!
Thanks I’m not planning that right now
It's looking good! 🙂
Thanks! 😊
Are there no limits too your imagination? Luv the channel!
I’m sure there are.
Hope you've done your homework on the diameter and grade of your helix, wishing you luck, looking good. 👍
I watched way too many videos about it. My head is spinning
Ken always does his Homework!!
looks great
Thanks
Ken, are the curves banked at all and is it necessary? Love your build.
They aren’t but maybe should be
Fun stuff.
Definitely
When you use a blower instead of a vacuum - where does the dust go? EVERYWHERE. Please reconsider and choose the vacuum, unless you’re blowing leaves outside 😅! Your new layout looks fascinating!
Thanks you’re probably right
Ken have posted the layout plan
No I haven’t still formulating it.
@Kens265 thanks, If you do post it I would love to see it. I like it alot, and I have trying to do something like you in n scale, due to space.
🤠🖐🚂
I hope you kept the layout under 2% or you can burn up motors in your locomotives
It’s pushing 2.5%
The best grade for trains is not greater than 2 percent.(2 inches in height for 100 inches of run.
Right on.
Man that train sure was struggling going up that incline, hopefully you don't run really long trains.
It really was. I am going to adjust that grade a little

OK, everybody ! Beat me up for being honest !! It may be fun now. But....
let's cut out the table support. There won't be much weight.... then proceeds to climb on the table!
Haha you noticed!
I Would Advise Not to Glue the Track Down Just In Case You May Have To Do A Different Track Plan.
Oops…already done
comment
Haha

Your part about the sounds, so what, its part of the fun.
Thank you
