I enjoyed this three trac build as I never knew how it was done. Can't help but wonder how you got into the model railroad hobby as it isn't most often seen but probably larger than one would think. I was into planes. Can't wait for the rest of it. Enjoyed the garage build also. Cheers, Lee
Very cool Ken... If you ever decide to go DCC you can add controllable sounds directly to the locomotives. You're making me want to do my own layout now, lol.
Oh my goodness that layout with the three trains interweaving is just beautiful. You made them flow so well in and around each other. Can't wait till you start to add scenery on the board............
On that notch in lantern handle, it seems the purpose is for your hand to get a better grip when doing various signaling functions that required swinging motions, especially when wearing gloves in cold weather. Holding the handle above the notch would also keep you from dumping the fuel out. As someone who worked in dark places, I also suspect it would give you a quick reference as to which side the wick control was on without fumbling in the dark.
It’s funny how when one gets to our age group completely different things take over our interests and the old things have lost their luster. Very nice rig and I’m sure it will look awesome when you’re finished. 👍
I just absolutely love seeing a new video from you !! That 3rd track has quite the steep elevation on the back corner, poor engineer gonna go through a lot of sand for traction lol 😂
Excellent video Ken!! The bend in the handle was an intentional bend by Dietz. The bend in the handle(bail) was put there so when it was held to do signaling, your thumb was put into that bend to give you better control of the lantern when swinging it. It’s basically a thumb bend to comfort your grip.
Thank you!! I was so curious but my research turned up nothing on the purpose of the dent. I did figure out that it's probably a Dietz #999 lantern which was a type of dead flame lantern
What an amazing layout! Looks great. Look how far you’ve come with this hobby. The lanterns are usually stamped on the top cap for which railroad they belong to.
@@Kens265 that’s a good one. New York Central System. They merged with Pennsylvania Railroad in 1968 to become Penn Central Transportation Company So it’s at least that old. Nice gift
It's looking pretty amazing Ken! Nice Vince and Linda for giving Ken such a nice RR gift. That looks like the original from 1930 to 1935 because the wire at the bottom is flat. I don't know about the indentation. I like the real life sounds you get Ken. Yay, you had just enough track to finish the third track! Wow, all three of the running! With all three of them going around that corner it was so fun to watch. Great job Ken! That is a real impressive set-up!
Oh man, that is really nice! I mean, REALLY nice! Have you considered putting in some water features later on? (i.e. small pond or something with a bridge over it) That would be so cool!
Put your controls on a board mounted under the table like a computer desk, slide out keyboard drawer. Pet alert, protect the wires from possible pet damage with plastic loom and zip-ties.
Fantastic job! Looks amazing with all of the trains in motion. The recorded sound is so perfect. The creeper was ideal for zooming in and out. That light (gift) looks so cool. Don't know what the handle bend is for, but I'm curious. Enjoying this adventure.
Just now watching your current video. I can see some possibilites for helping the viewability of some of your sections of track with fewer 2x4s!!! Sounds like some of your axles are sqeeaking! (LOL)
A Fantastic compliment my friend, now listen..lol time to build a mezzanine over at least half that garage all your toy's can be up there with steps and you can still build tiny houses under it ...off too work I go..great video Ken..p.s. Chad and Dan will help you lol.🌴😎
Really enjoying watching your work and the enjoyment you seem to be getting out of it all. With all the over and under of the different tiers, I’m curious to know if your plan is to add contoured scenery and such as this would seem very complex or are you just going to leave it open as you currently have it. Again, really enjoy your progress. Cheers
Hey, Ken. You know, you can find a control box that has 3 different tracks. It'll handle three different tracks, and you can run them all at different speeds that way
I looked at your BNSF train set today in the store. It didn't say it came with sound like yours on the box. Just said lights. Is their different kinds from bachmann.
Good morning Ken, I do enjoy your railroad videos, but may I say your road bed look too small in contrast to your column they look so large, anyway have a good day and a wonderful week.
I now you are new at model railroader who is learning as you go but I do not glue my track down. I hope that you kept the grades down to 2%. I see fr the video thatyou space the lines about 3 inches apart. I like the video.
Last time your channel popped up for me on youtube, you were having surgery on your wrist. Looks like you've recovered, that paintbrush was flying over the wood! Are you still in the garage-building business?
@@Kens265 I have an idea about building a small greenhouse on a trailer, that can be stored in a barn during winter, then brought out for seed starting in spring. On wheels that way, they can't hit me for property tax on a greenhouse. 😉 Someday, I hope to find time to do it!

Congratulations ! You built a roller coaster !!
Looks great Ken. The enjoyment on your face and enthusiasim is great to see. I look forward to see what scenery ideas you have.
Thanks
Ken you looked like the cat that caught the canary with the smile 😃 excellent job on the three trains 🚂 running 😮😊❤
Haha thanks
Never realised you were a railway modeller, followed your endeavours on both your carpentry and visits to Lumnah acres. Looking great
Oh cool thanks for watching
Inspiring to see the process of the rails being installed! The real train sounds are tops!!
Are you also ken the carpenter? UA-cam channel? Nice spaghetti tracks!
Yes I am. Spaghetti tracks sums it up
Fantastic layout. You’ve done a great job putting this all together. Look forward to next weeks update. Thank you Ken for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it

Haha true
The realism is outstanding. I have mentioned before that when you get down to eye level, it looks so real. Your work is excellent. Great job!
Thanks so much
My mate in Geraldton Western Australia has a setup similar to yours in his shed.
Kenny, what's your measurements work board layout??

Thanks. I think it will
Great layout Ken. There seems no end to your skills.
Thank you kindly. This stretched me.
Very impressive! I couldn't wait for you to get the third one running! Fun to watch all three running at the same time.
Thanks
Impressive. I doubt I would have the patience.
Haha thanks
Can’t wait to watch how your going to landscape and other scenery. Thanks for sharing this with us. Ron
You and me both!
Tolle Arbeit 👏🏻👋🙋♂️

Incredible layout! Looks like it could be in Switzerland, if you add mountains & tunnels…
Thanks
Wooooo woooooo, all aboard.

Kk, I just got bitten now. HO scale it is.

Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching
Time to throw in mountains, towns, bridges and lakes for a litle colour. That train mail depot with windmill pump adds a little variety.
Cool thanks
Fun and games now with the creating the scenery of landscaping
Right

Haha I haven’t tried that

So now it begines! Railroad collectables.
Need more room
Great job looks really good
Thanks
Good work 😊
