For the life of me I really hope they don't make part III open world. Plus it wouldn't make sense. For part II they could go wherever they wanted but as Neil Druckman said if you start a franchise there's a pattern that's established. So it wouldn't be logical to go open world for part III. Additionaly there's already enough open world games out there right now, and not enough stealth linear and narrative focused games, we absolutely don't need tlou to go the other way !!!

It’s doesn’t have to be open world just expand what they did in pt2. Have more cities and towns to explore or have to go through and go to another country or continent like south America to search for the origins of the cordycept
I heard there was another persom who deserves credit for the last of us series being a thing. I can see the soul leave this game by the time last of us part 2 came out and the cash grab known as last of us remastered. At least incredibles 2 did an "ok" sequel after years of not having one. But Neil just isnt a good director. LOU2 id the only game ik where a random npc was given a story. Then the rest of the story was revenge. Yknow other people died other than Joel but the characters played didnt bat an eye? If the original creator who put his heart into game is gone and the only person thats in charge doesnt care. What fun are we going to have anymore?

I don’t know with Tommy being left with a bad lump and one eye. The limp would become annoying as he could never run very well.
Probably not going to happen now that he’s crippled and missing an eye but playing as him in a flashback would be awesome. He’s my favorite character.
