I’m going to check out the starter kit. All of our social posts and blog recipes are a hobby for us. We try to have work life balance, and post some fun stuff. We’ve had some pretty awesome brand partnerships, but I feel like we’re miles away from being able to monetize. We do mostly shorts at the moment and we did a couple of long form videos in the summer. I’m proud of our progress but we’re so far. we’re at 5600 subscribers and 1 million views in the last 90 days. This seems nice but we would need 10 million views in 90 days to qualify to monetize. Feels pretty far unfortunately. Thanks for all the guidance you’ve shared over time. It feels good to make changes that feel right. I’m positive you’ll look back one day and realize how happy you are to have made that change. Best of luck with the new direction.
The box instagram puts creators in is disgusting. It’s so limiting and it literally kills my brain cells trying to come up with ways to succeed on the instagram platform. This gives me courage to consider leaving instagram for a while as well.
Do what you feel is best for you 🧡🧡 you don't have to do something just because everyone else is doing it or because you think you "should". Listen to your body and your gut and follow that 🤗
I left Instagram back in March of 2022 on a 30-day "break" and haven't been back since. I've been saying for years that Instagram isn't as effective as it used to be (especially for Coaches/Freelancers/Course Creators). It requires double the effort for a 3rd of the impact and results you could get back in 2018/19. I don't have TikTok or Twitter and only use UA-cam and LinkedIn and I've been able to maintain steady sales and business growth without the overwhelm. I think you're making a great decision and I hope Instagram sees this video and decides to make chances to make the platform better.
I am an MVP over here. Thank you so much for doing this video. As a solopreneur, I have found trying to keep up with the ever-changing Instagram platform exhausting. I have seen next to no growth in two years. When I do buckle down and post more consistently all I attract are the spammers. My content is also not pushed out to new followers. I am in agreement with you that time is money and to keep doing what I am doing and getting the same results is stupid. Enjoy your Christmas break, I intend to.
That's why they are not my main plataform anymore. I'm also a solopreuner and I prefer YT or Tiktok over Instagram. At least I can get monetized in both hahaha
MVP! I hear you!! Instagram is like the bad boyfriend you don’t want to cut loose cause you remember the good times. But you need to take care of your mental health so bravo for the courage to do what’s right for you💪
Instagram simply isn't worth the effort-to-reward ratio anymore. There's a constant increase in the amount of time you must spend on the platform and unnecessary hoops you have to jump through just to have your content seen by anyone, including people who already follow you. I get that it's a business and they want people on the platform all day everyday, but at some point most people will realize what a giant waste of time IG is, where the focus is on quantity over quality and you're seeing nothing but repetitive/recycled content because everyone is just trying to "play the game".
The crazy thing about insta is its better to make a new account and start fresh if you have not posted in a while...why do they stop your old followers from seeing your content.
I’m so glad you addressed the “do this…… even though I’m already at 100K followers”: I noticed many “content creator” teachers are giving advice based on where they are now and not for the person that’s starting from scratch
I agree! I do like the idea of starting a faceless account and developing strategies to grow that type of ig account. I don't see many creators doing it.
Omg…. Thank-you so much for validating my choice to stop posting on IG. I’m a one-person team, there are only 24 hours in a day, and IG takes SO MUCH time and energy. Thank-you!!
Thank you for sharing this...I’m right behind you. My content no longer fits on their platform anymore, and because of that, growth has been halted for over 2 years now. I’m shifting gears and sharing my creative efforts here in UA-cam, where it is appreciated and rewarded. Thank you for sharing your courageous decision with us!
I agree Melonie! I started this year focusing my efforts on UA-cam but then started trying to make content for Instagram as well. It led to me burning out and now I'm not consistent on any platform. Going forward I'm going to focus my efforts on YT. It's so great to see that you are nearing 100K, you've always made amazing content!
This is just a confirmation for me. You have a team and I don’t and I was so tired and exhausted all the time. Thanks for being transparent and honest with us.
I've been thinking about something similar for a very long time now, and come 2024, I'll post on Instagram for fun and randomly. I don't want it to be a daily thing. Like you, I want to focus more on my blog, online biz and being of service to others. It's so difficult to just be yourself and grow on IG. Growth comes from the hustle and I'm not that grrl. Thank you for your great video and I'm excited for you as well xo
I feel this vibe on so many levels. Instagram is such a HIGH MAINTENANCE platform and pretty exhausting. Had so many changes also plus as you say you can't mention other platforms as your content will get suppressed. Gotta do what is right for you, your energy and your business goals. Respect.
MVP! Love this. IG is burning a lot of people out. If you're not twerking or spewing out negativity (and some people actually believe they're being positive as they lace all their posts with cussing and fussing) then your content isn't pushed out. I gave up on IG years ago. Thanks for your honesty!
this is very true! I wanted to make sure I wasn't just being emotional lol...went ahead & tested this for 2 weeks in stories. Every morning I posted a negative story I received over 1K views. Positive, uplifting, or tips I received around 100ish views... at 37K followers that just does not make any sense. IDK whats the deal with IG but it's exhausting.
I am so happy for you putting up boundaries to assist in Mental Health. I know what stress and anxiety do to businesses owners of all sizes. 5 years ago I had an anxiety/panic attack from stress, now I teach people to manage it and the step you have taken is one of many! Sending Blessings and look forward to seeing you more on UA-cam and classes!😊
This December is my full year of taking off of Instagram. I agree with all that you’ve said. I am generating more business through other business models than spending my time generating business through Instagram. There is always something to do when you go on there and it’s very overwhelming and it can be draining. I find UA-cam is the best platform ever! Love this video. Thank you for being honest and vulnerable with us.
Time to boycott Instagram! 😆 In all seriousness, I see this coming for a lot of creators. Christina Galbato just posted something about predicting UA-cam/long form content making a comeback, and man I hope so
The weirdest comeback in social media? The re-explosion of Facebook. It went from cool, to all the olds ruining it, to it becoming, once again, the low key social media spot. Did NOT see that coming. “The next FB/YT killer is here!” only for everyone to come back round to FB and YT 🤷🏽♂️
100% agree with you!!! Instagram is like the DISHES !!! I have detached myself from IG and I feel so much happier not knowing what my friends and family are doing .. and when I catch up with them IRL .. it’s so refreshing!! Because I don’t see stories anymore. Can’t wait to see you more on YT, my favourite platform ❤️
I really walked away from Instagram a while ago. I have old scheduled posts going up, but that's it. I put up stories for my friends, really, but even that's kinda eh, when I feel like it It's turned into a personal account 100%. It's just become too hard and for the same amount of effort I could put up a whole UA-cam video that lives on for YEARS instead of seconds. I mean, why. Pair it with a blog post and your content just lives on forever. And I think that's all social media - Facebook, Twitter, etc. They've made it too hard unless you have a literal team of people. And then it's not connecting with people, it's a company. Which isn't what anybody wants. Thanks for being so honest. Made me feel better about ghosting Instagram. :)
Honestly I really appreciate you saying that you are out because I have been so frustrated with instagram and have been hoping for another platform to emerge 💕
This hit home! Thanks for your brutal honesty. I agree, UA-cam is a much better platform. My Instagram got taken down randomly a few months ago for a few weeks - it felt impossible to speak to anyone that works at Instagram. I had over 70k followers and even PAID for meta verified, nothing. It really showed me just how fragile the platform is and when I put effort into UA-cam it pays me - I don't have to keep relentlessly making content without some kind of reward, Instagram feels like so different. I think you're making a good decision, good luck Millie!
Thank you for your transparency as to why you're leaving Instagram. What you're experiencing is one of the trends I'm predicting in 2024 for content creators - restricting content to only platform specific topics (IG content is rewarded on IG, etc.) This is great to know - thank you for sharing what you're experiencing! #MVP! :)
Girl I feel you so much!! I stopped playing with trying to grow my IG a long time ago. The longer you take a break the less likely you will want to come back because the anxiety is REAL. I know exactly what you mean when you say just looking at the logo stress you out because that's exactly how I feel!! I fully committed to UA-cam and now I have started to grow!!
As an artist just starting out I am so happy to have found you and your channel. You are truthfully the only creator who makes me feel comfortable that the info you share is helpful thank you I will miss you but thankfully I can watch all the videos
The platform is getting exhausting! I’m working so hard and noticed over the last few years reach is low and all my other metrics. The constant changes to the platform is causing major burnout for everyone. They want you spending your whole day on there. You stand correct about the time and energy it takes on Instagram!!
I’m a photographer/videographer/storyteller. I’ve never pursued social media until now, 25 years in :/ I just started a new insta/youtube channel and found you as I’m literally just trying to learn more. I found you on this platform and I thought you were extremely kind and easy to listen to. Hoping to learn more from you. Merry Christmas
Good for you. One of the hardest decisions as a business owner is knowing when to pivot. I agree with everything you said in this video. Thanks for sharing it.
Your last point is exactly what I’m feeling, spot on!! I shared with my audience that I’m feeling anxious, can’t even open dms to reply messages, i avoid looking at new posts for comments and you just described it. It’s the burnout from that platform! I took the longest break ever from Instagram unintentionally and now getting back to it is so scary, 1 to 2 posts and I’m out! It’s so sad what they’ve done with a platform that everyone used to love, by creating high and mighty rules that ensure creators keep jumping for something elusive. The goalpost keeps shifting and I can’t anymore. I knew what I’m feeling was personal-related, but yup you just made me realize Instagram is part of the problem too. Unfortunately they have refused to listen and I hope every creator esp smaller accounts move to UA-cam. I’ve seen growth here when I create pure content from the heart and it’s time to embrace this more. IG is a love-hate relationship for sure. I want to serve my small audience but there has to be a better way that doesn’t make my heart palpitate.
Absolutely resonates with my experience! Instagram's limitations on creators can be frustrating. I appreciate you sharing your perspective and reasons for leaving. Looking forward to exploring other platforms that prioritize creative freedom
i feel you on the instagram PTSD. I stepped away from it for a year and half, just recently back at it and its brought on so much stress which literally every other platform doesnt cause even a 1/4 as much
"Posting to instagram feels like dishes." OMG, this is absolutely true! That quote totally resonated with me. Thank you for all your wonderful advice and honesty. I am a loyal UA-cam follower of yours!
I totally feel and agree with you! I was growing on Instagram but it was draining! With that being said, I am enjoying Instagram Threads because I love to express my thoughts in writing authentically. I felt like in Instagram no one really read the captions. It was all about reels and photos/images. UA-cam long form content works better for business and attracting people to you. I think what's coming to a head is that many are forgetting about just being authentic and sharing from their heart on their terms rather than competing with an algorithm constantly. ♾💜🙏🙌
I absolutely agree and 100% behind you. I have been thinking about it lately as well. The return on investment is not worth it. To me it isn’t smart business. Thank you for actually being honest about this and brave enough to see it through!
I'm excited for you, Millie! I sure do enjoy and appreciate learning from you! I appreciate not only what you say to do but what you SHOW to do as well. You're the best ❤
Good for you. I was in your shoes just a few weeks ago and also done with IG. And let me tell you my mental has gotten better! And also just focusing on UA-cam and UA-cam after that took off for me I guess I had a better focus just for youtube and not stressing on IG. So props for you!
This IS why I love you! Your honest and besides you are always telling us “Follow your joy” so back it’s good to see you are doing what you recommend ❤- following your joy 😊
Thankyou for your honest personal views of IG. This is exactly how i feel and have for at least a couple of years now. Im trying to grow my business but i just cant bear the thought of spending so many hours of my life creating content that may never get seen and only exists for a few hours really. I get tense and irritated when i have to creste for it, so i just don't that much now. I will look at other things i can focus my marketing on. It used to be so fun....
The algorithm doesn't push my content out despite me using key words, seo, a few strategic hashtags. The platform prefers reels which is hard for photographers who want to post pictures, like what the app was originally intended for
Yes true. No way would people spent polished pictures for 7 secs and live only 48 hours.. OR you can be really scruffy looking and have lots of followers and crazy DM
That is so frustrating. I miss photos on IG and have gotten too over-stimulated by all the video content on there now. Hope you can find another platform that supports you. 💚
Thank you so much for this video. you're so right, as a small content creator it just felt too much. Since I started focusing mostly on my UA-cam channel I was able to grow to 12k in 2 months.
I feel the same way! I have a few businesses & they do not perform well for content at all but if I post myself or a body shot it’ll skyrocket with engagement. It’s really frustrating bc I have two really cool businesses that get very low reach. I moved over to UA-cam & I’m very hopeful. It feels so much more laid back here. Wish me luck!
Sooo with you Millie! I wish you all the success on all the ventures you do. You will dod great and if taking IG off your plate helps your daily lie, I'm all for it! I don't post there and haven't for a long time because it's not worth the stress. And I'm just a small creator hahahaha for someone who has a legit business and not seeing the results thats saying something. I'm so happy you'll be here more. I much prefer YT over any other platform! :) I can't wait to keep watching!
Thanks for this video love. I left instagram about a year and a half ago now ( so so so glad I did ) and was actually wondering if I should go back on lately - but I really appreciate all you said and now Im thinking..why the heck would I go back to that! That PTSD relationship was REAL. We certainly arent the only ones and too many people on there say they dont want to be but feel they have to be. That certainly isnt good!
Yes QUEEN!! So happy for you!! I’ve been considering leaving Instagram for awhile now too, it’s just not fun anymore! Excited to see what’s to come for you next here on YT. I just officially became monetized three weeks ago and learned so many strategies and tips from your videos alone. Big thank you! MVP
Millie thank you for voicing this out loud. I left Instagram for awhile now (so I can put my full effort and focus on my YT channel) because just like you I didn't think it was the right platform for me anymore and wondered if I made a huge mistake. But hearing you just validated all my feelings. I so appreciate you for sharing! Merry Christmas and wishing you more blessings in the new year!
Thank you for being so honest. I feel so drawn to checking my IG to reply to comments and come up with reel ideas all the time and I hate it. UA-cam is where I want to focus my energy this year but I still find myself putting time and energy into creating for IG, it’s exhausting.
Hello Millie, I understand you. I've been on Instagram for years, but I became a content creator recently, and it's been very challenging to grow there. I make videos every day, show up on stories, create connections, but it hasn't been enough. I've been struggling with such low results there. Here, it's possible to feel more comfortable and valued. Even though I've reduced my content here on UA-cam, I realized that when I was focused here, I had a much more significant return. I must consider that it's still quite low; I don't have enough to be monetized. However, I'm going back to UA-cam. I want to help people going through the visa process, like I did. Congratulations on your channel and the way you speak. I'm Brazilian, living in the USA, and I follow very few people from here, but I was enchanted by you, and I admire you a lot. Thank you for your content. ♥
Definitely will miss your presence on Instagram, but so excited for you and the future of your business!! I also totally understand what you said about Instagram is more fun and less stressful when you aren’t worrying about a strategy. I still have a dream job of doing content creation full time, but with another full time job right now, I don’t have the time to put into it, and trying to use a strategy to grow is extra stressful right now. I’ve been enjoying just posting when I want, engaging as much as I want, and just being more chill with it. Of course that doesn’t lead to much growth, but it’s much less pressure and much less mental stress!
MVP ♥ I honestly don't blame you at all. I've been feeling this exact sam way! The app isn't fun anymore. It's like even if you don't want to be a professional and you only want to use the app for fun, it doesn't give you an option. In order to be seen at all, you have to have some sort of growth strategy. And you're so right! It's like the never ending task of cleaning the dishes. Plus it's not fair that they punish users depending on the topic they post. Their insecurity of other apps is one of the big reasons why their users are jumping ship to them.
MVP here. 💯 Best Decision. I watched regularly as you talked about strats and posts and reels and got heart palpitations from just that!! I do not like ANY platform that puts us in boxes to slave away for JUST them. Forget about it. Take your break. But honestly, even though i watched for so long, as a mom who works part time, I’d rather spend my precious few hours creating rather than promoting. So enjoy this new phase in life, and don’t feel like you ever need to turn back. Cuz Instagram doesn’t pay you nearly enough for that shit.
I completely understand your decisions, Millie - even though I only have like 600 followers on Instagram. 😅 Why waste your time, energy, and joy on a toxic relationship, right? Thank you for all the valuable content you shared so far, and (as always) I'm looking forward to your new videos here on dear UA-cam! 👏🏼🧡
Boom. This! I literally have been juggling between “refreshing” my Instagram page, but it’s just not my audience for the type of stuff I like to teach. I don’t like giving in to post “my daily life” for the comfort of my followers. I’ll find my team somewhere else ❤. I’m glad I’m not the only one, between you and other commenters. It’s a bunch of self gratification post on instagram and it is indeed a distraction when one has bigger projects to handle rather than getting a couple laughs from not so funny, but funny memes.
MVP! I'm glad you are not using this as click bait and are REALLY leaving. With you sis! I've invested $$ this year hiring people to help create content, schedule, chat bots, plus committed to regular posting. NO growth in a year because they just show it to my current followers...stuck at 100K and follow/unfollow bots. It's a mess. Been off for a few weeks and mentally FEEL BETTER. I don't miss it. It hasn't impacted my revenue or growth. I've been feeling refreshed and focused on new avenues for my business that fulfill me and will make money! My IG Reels reposted on UA-cam are actually helping me grow. The sensational crap is the thing that IG is showing and that's not me. THANK for being you!
Yes to everything in this video! I deactivated last week, planning to stay off until at least 2025. Hadn't realised just how distracting and draining that platform actually was until I came off! I've started creating again, my block seems to have lifted already. Burned myself out trying to figure out how to grow on there. Had enough 😅
I took a step back from IG as well. What happened? I was able to post BETTER content (focus on YT and then pimp it on IG). Plus, give this a heart if you agree and didn't want to say: IG is for shallow, validation seeking, insecure folk. Which i still i am! But i needed to take a step back from that consistent "AREN'T YOU JEALOUS?!" posts from people who secretly cry themselves to sleep at night. It's not a good vibe. And the politics? Don't get me started...
Decentralised Social media like Nostr is the future I hope for, as its free and independent and censor free. I agree I hate the platforms restricting your reach for so many variables on the usual SM platforms. I feel Instagram don't care about creators.
I also feel very anxious about Instagram right now. I've invested so much time into it that leaving seems wrong, but at the same time, it no longer brings me satisfaction. I don't like reels, neither making them nor watching them. I just want to post cute photos like in the old times. However, when I try to post photos, almost no one sees them, even though I know people like them because I always have people in real life telling me they are beautiful. I enjoy participating in events and receiving products to try, but I feel the constant pressure to perform and receive comments; otherwise, what I post doesn't seem valuable enough. I know it's not true, but it's like a snake eating its tail. I would like to go back to making UA-cam videos, but at this time, I don't have much time to shoot and edit them, and Instagram seems more immediate, even though it's still frustrating.
You're so brave for putting this video out. All the more I'm motivated to entice my social media clients, especially coaches, to finally start their UA-cam channel. Thank you for the courage.
Thank you. I've been concerned about how much time IG will sap from my very restricted time available to create content for UA-cam. As a new creator with a full time job, we don't realise just how much time it takes to manage everything by yourself 😢 this was a helpful reminder to prioritise my time to what will yield the most sustainable results.
Same. I just started posting 3 reels a day for 2 weeks plus.. and creating carousell for 100 followers only. and cna't grow.. I can't cross-share content I created from other platforms. Can't even mention on the voice over. Those contents are short-lived. and is so discouraging for people to start content creation. I abandoned Tik Tok. I'm now thinking abandone IG too
I joust found your channel and I have have watches a few of your videos here on UA-cam, and they are awesome! I will keep watching and following you. You're a great inspiration and thank you for also sharing that you are also human and not loving every social media platform that there is. // Petra
I’m so happy for you & your decision to follow your own joy! I don’t mind doing the dishes, literally give me some music & it’s like a mini spa lol😂 however I do mind the everyday rat race of having to fit into a box & hope to be seen, it’s so exhausting! I’ve been contemplating only focusing on YT & I feel like this video has perfect timing. Thank you for simply being YOU! Sincerely, An MVP! 😉
META is just burning people out! I just started IG 2 weeks- posting 2-3 reels aday with 100 followers. I already seen how it sap away energy. I actually wanted to sign up your course but I sensed this vibe that maybe YT is more suitable for me. This is a sign! can't wait to see what you will cook up here
I noticed the pattern that IG is favouring is creators who posting IG features, stickers, filters hacks.. these gurus grown to 150k, 500k within 3-4 months! Who on earth actually need to learn those gimmicky skills. How on earth does those filters hacks, alphabet charms can help with my business??! But sadly many newbies fall for that thinking wow they grew 500k in 4 months. It's just IG pushing those gimmmiky hacks content so people can learn how to use those rubbish features
MVP! I've never done well on there and thank you for validating that it's ok not to like IG. I feel like a weight has been removed from my shoulders, as my mentors told me to focus on IG but I never vibed with it.
every time you open you heart and talk with honesty it's really refreshing and you get more and more my respect and admiration. I hope everything goes in your favor :) Instagram is not worth the headache .
I totally relate to this. Thank you for sharing and being so honest Millie.🙌🏻 Putting all my time and attention on UA-cam too moving forward as feeling so frustrated with Instagram and the time spent on it creating with not much in return.🤦♀️ Wishing you all the best with UA-cam and so happy you are able to share all your knowledge/content for the social media platforms in one place. SUBSCRIBED. Look forward to watching your videos.💕
Another MVP here - well done for taking care of yourself and recognising what you need to do to do that! IG is something I just dip in and out of - I remember the good old days when I saw those I followed - now it could be anything including ads and suggested posts. I'm pretty tired of the ever changing face of Instagram!
Appreciate you sharing your honest thoughts and why you're leaving INstagram. I have been thinking about leaving Instagram a few months ago and and all the reasons I had was exactly what you shared in this video. This really has given me the confidence and push to leave Instagram for a while. I do feel that all my efforts goes into IG feels like such a chore that its always changing with new updates. I've always wanted to do UA-cam, I've started this year and I pushed out a few vids which felt more natural and truly felt like I could be myself and share my message in empowering asian women in the fitness space. Another big thing is that I found IG very time consuming. All my time spent there could be on UA-cam a platform where I can connect to my audience on a deeper level. I look forward to your incredible journey
MVP, I've been on Instagram since 2013, and I was telling my husband last week how much I hate instagram, so I totally understand. I'm so excited for you. UA-cam is such a better platform. Thank you for everything that you do for us and all the free information you give out.❤
I feel exactly the same way about Instagram: it was great back in 2016/17/18 but now it sucks and feels like a chore! I have been focusing on YT instead for the passed two years. Growth is a lot slower and creating long form content is so much more work but I feel like the pay off is so much better or will be in the long run. I look forward to more videos about how to grow on YT from you! ❤
MVP! I've been really struggling with IG too. I just hit 50k (yay, but also eyeroll) and it's very draining to grow like you said. I do have team members devoted to content on IG, which costs me money. Unfortunately, I have noticed when I get burned out from Instagram my podcast and email list don't grow as much either so I feel chained to the platform. I've grown my business UA-cam to ~3200 subs and it's close to being monetized, but I've found that those people are not moving anywhere else even when they have awareness that my best stuff is on my podcast, that I have an email list, and that I have a support community. I'm interested to see what you learn from your break! Thank you for being honest and open as always.
Same ptsd. I used to get at least several thousand views on my reels. And although I have been posting and reeling consistently for YEARS. I cannot grow and my views are now usually 100-300.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and explaining your decision. If it doesn't bring you joy any longer and feels like the platform is controlling you as opposed to you controlling it, it's time to shift gears. Wise decision and looking forward to your content on UA-cam!
wowww the final reason is sooooooooo freakin real (reel lol *pukes*) it literally feels like a never-ending chore, because if I even miss a day of posting anything, i'm losing followers. A goal i had last year was to post more to youtube, and I have, but I was just reposting my insta content on youtube, and not actually taking the time to make the longer form content that I actually want to make because I was so worried about keeping up with instagram. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this!
OMG!!! Share more of your feelings about Instagram!!! I feel exhausted from Instagram! I’ve grown to hate the platform!!! They are ridiculous and they are Not making me the money that will help me quit my regular job!!! It’s ridiculous! Congratulations on your choice and I feel exactly the same!!!
MVP. I’m grateful to see your human side. There are many topics you covered that I find hard to constantly keep up on too. Like it hurts my soul. Lately I’ve been giving myself permission to take breaks on my Instagram until clarity comes back to me. This way I stop myself from wasting my energy on a direction that no longer serves me. Love you & I’ll see you on the tube!

But I thought u r leaving insta... from the topic of this video
Yes but did you watch the video?🙈🙈@@itsmedipti_1
Oh no! I was at work when it popped up so couldn’t play. But I was so sad to see the caption 😬😬😬 u seem strong, don’t feel disheartened
I’m going to check out the starter kit. All of our social posts and blog recipes are a hobby for us. We try to have work life balance, and post some fun stuff. Do what you feel is best for you 🧡🧡 you don't have to do something just because everyone else is doing it or because you think you "should". Listen to your body and your gut and follow that 🤗
Yes! It’s utterly soul destroying! I hate it with a passion.
box is the word. So disturbing!
The box creators put themselves into, not the app. People are looking at what others are doing and putting themselves into boxes.

Great choice! And brave.
This. The more I post, the more scammers I have to block and delete.
That's why they are not my main plataform anymore. I'm also a solopreuner and I prefer YT or Tiktok over Instagram. At least I can get monetized in both hahaha
Same! Same! Saaame!!!
Here’s to our future success! 👏🏽🙌
Yes yes yes yes! Soul sapping
The crazy thing about insta is its better to make a new account and start fresh if you have not posted in a while...why do they stop your old followers from seeing your content.
MVP Thank you for your videos. They have been helping me.
Yes
I’m so glad you addressed the “do this…… even though I’m already at 100K followers”: I noticed many “content creator” teachers are giving advice based on where they are now and not for the person that’s starting from scratch
I agree!
Thank-you!!
100%
This is what I have felt starting my business over a year ago seeing practically NO growth.
Respect.
😮😮😮 wow that’s why I never grow! That’s so sad I didn’t know
MVP! Love this. IG is burning a lot of people out. If you're not twerking or spewing out negativity (and some people actually believe they're being positive as they lace all their posts with cussing and fussing) then your content isn't pushed out. I gave up on IG years ago. Thanks for your honesty!
Exactly!!
this is very true!
Yep. That’s me. IG burn out
I am so happy for you putting up boundaries to assist in Mental Health.
Christina Galbato just posted something about predicting UA-cam/long form content making a comeback, and man I hope so
I’m 100% onboard with that!
I hope so too!
The weirdest comeback in social media? The re-explosion of Facebook. It went from cool, to all the olds ruining it, to it becoming, once again, the low key social media spot. Did NOT see that coming.
“The next FB/YT killer is here!” only for everyone to come back round to FB and YT 🤷🏽♂️
really? @@HernandezTony
Yes girl !
“Like the dishes” 😅. True!!
I feel the same way!!!😮💨
I really walked away from Instagram a while ago.
#MVP! :)
Ooooo such a good prediction! 😱
I’ve never pursued social media until now, 25 years in :/
I just started a new insta/youtube channel and found you as I’m literally just trying to learn more. I found you on this platform and I thought you were extremely kind and easy to listen to. Hoping to learn more from you. Merry Christmas
Same! Always been a photographer and just a few months I have been trying to learn how to grow there. She’s been so amazingly helpful!
Thank you so much for sharing!!!!
You singlehandedly taught me so much about business through this one vid! Keep up the great work Millie!
totally feel you; getting anxiety just thinking about opening the app, makes me feel like I'm going to a place that I can't exit
wow thank you for speaking your truth. Very Brave. Looking forward to seeing what you do on UA-cam. High Five!
MVP - can’t wait to see what you come up with ! 🧡
Thank you so much! That's so reassuring to hear its working for you 🧡
This IS why I love you!
Omg I love it. Yes you are right, lots of creator se are giving these advices to grow but hello they got their followers probably during COVID TIMES.
I respect you so much! For someone who always says "follow your joy," you're ensuring that you're doing that even in your business! #mvp ❤
MVP. Welcome to the team boo. I happily left Instagram in 2022. I don’t miss it at all.
Omg! Good for you!! I’m excited to see what happens 🙈
@@MillieAdrianyou will love it
I feel the same way!
So with you, UA-cam rules! ❤🎉
Thank you for being so honest. I feel so drawn to checking my IG to reply to comments and come up with reel ideas all the time and I hate it. UA-cam is where I want to focus my energy this year but I still find myself putting time and energy into creating for IG, it’s exhausting.
These REAL videos of yours are my favorite. THANK YOU!!!
Love your teaching style...it's professional, clear and inspiring. You are all class, Millie!! God bless you!
Smart business move I'm proud to hear this
🙌 so glad talking about this!
MVP! Cheers to you recognizing and following through!
Boom.
Thank you for being so open, honest and authentic!
Of course 🥹🧡
Meee too (leaving!) !!
So excited to see your on the same wave length. 🙌 such affirmation.
Same! Going forward I'm focusing my efforts on YT only! It just makes more sense for me when my time is already limited!
I'm now thinking abandone IG too
Such a valuable video! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience. I feel you on so many levels! Wish you all the best in 2024 with UA-cam!
Sincerely,
An MVP!
Evita_social. Only posted 109 reels grew to 537k followers within 4 months. teaching hacks
Thank you so much 😭🧡
I totally relate to this.
Heavy on the "I just don't like Instagram anymore" 😂
MVP! 🏅 I love this! And definitely understand why you are taking a step back and I appreciate it so much! We love you Millie!!!!
MVP! Thank you Millie for all your advice... i will still support you in your new journey :)
YOU are da true MVP 😌 happy for you. You’ve been talking about this for so long!
Makes total sense. I always watch you on YT anyway. Perfect analogy re IG and dishes, I’ve felt the same for SO LONG.
I feel the same!!!
Love your honesty.
MVP. Also i appreciate you and all your help with the gram. I hope you enjoy your break!
Loool I say real MVP at the end of my videos too! I’m excited for your new chapter x
Love you & I’ll see you on the tube!
preach sister! thank you for sharing this!
I'm so tired of IG because IG is so weak! 😭
I only go over there to check on friends. It's not what it used to be and they don't seem to care.
I just love your transparency. Thank you for this.
