The Nanosparks is absolutely amazing, I use it for about 3 years and love it. It’s the perfect companion for an alcohol stove. I also have a Titan lighter from Exotac and I really like the fact that it’s waterproof so the lighter fluid doesn’t evaporate.
H Rob, you weren't the only one surprised when the Exospark managed to light the feather stick, I've never had any of their products, but I'll take another look at them, look after yourself mate, stay safe, best wishe's to you and your's, Stuart UK.
Got to say Rob I was surprised when the Exospark lit the feather stick. However I have said before that I recon you have really mastered the art of feather sticking .I struggle to get them so fine.
I'm an absolute sucker for different firelighting gadgets and your demonstration of the nanospark has got my wallet triggerfinger itching - looks like a brilliant little tool to carry. Looks like another excuse to wind the missus up😆😉
@@howardvarley8795 I've been trying to get stuff from Heinnie since I started the channel, they didn't want to know as my channel is so small, spent a small fortune with them over the last 20+ years.
Nanospark is a great bit of kit! I've got a cheap fire wheel thing which is basically just a brass version of what you find in a clipper lighter, holds 2 spare flints and throws as good a spark as iv ever needed! Great video as always!
Nice bits of kit.. got a marbles match safe in an antique shop..still got a few packs of England's glory strike anywhere to go with it.. remember when it was common sense before health and safety 😜all the best Lincoln 🤙👍
Ha ha.. just spent two days in Northumberland..one day in a polish palatka with a gstove..and the next night under a lean to with a long 🔥..loved every minute 😜 all the best Lincoln 🤙👍
Very interesting. I use a mix of fire lighting gadgets...I like Exotrac kit. There's a but in there my titanlight lid does not seal well, it also let's the fuel build up inside the top so when you open it, the top of the lighter is wet.
Turn it upside down, let the fuel that has migrated into the cap go down, open bottom, open top.with lighter upside down, put fuel back in, screw on bottom cap, wipe lighter and hands, strike😂 Lighter takes #35 o rings in an emergency keep them up to date, a bit of silicone O ring grease helps to slow O ring wear.
All of a sudden it hit me one day...I overfilled it maybe? Is there a law written that says I can't invert it, and pour it back in? I just sat and laughed at myself for 10 minutes. Can't do that with a Zippo, don't need to do it with a Maratac Brass Peanut XL BUT its not windproof at all, but you sure as hell can with that thing. Keep the spare lighter parts (wicks, flints, O rings, pins etc) in that little Altoids mint tin in a small plastic Zip bag, small beading wire tied off on wicks for any lighter makes them MUCH easier to install
Thankyou Rob as always, an interesting one, I like to tease the fire card too , I usually start with hey you are looking a little flat today, and go on to hey man your a square. Right I will piss off now and leave you in peace
I think speed was the issue with that ferro rod, with the harder "Swedish" style rods like the LMF you can scrape slower and produce sparks but with the softer rods more speed is necessary but im sure you already know that lol
I really like their products too. Backed them quite a few time on kickstarter, the only item I am not that impressed with is the titan lighter as I have have a lot cheaper versions which work great. But one of their best is the nano striker.
I am a big fan of the exotac nano striker xl (it’s a mouthful to say and not sure where the xl comes from since it couldn’t be much smaller and still be functional). Been meaning to try out the larger exotac ferro rods because of the tinder storage. Have you tried the esee fire kit? Decent sparks and a ton of storage
I've looked at the Esee but I have so many ferrorods that I can't justify another one and the shallow side of me says it's not as pretty as the Exotac gear. It's a shame that the Exotac rods are so soft and that really doesn't suit my methods.
Find the exotac gear is a bit to pricey for a tight arse like my self. When there are plenty of other products that do the same job for a lot less money. At the end of the day it's just more toys for the cupboard.
Fun bit of kit brother, I like fire fun. I still can't understand how you can have such a low opinion of bic lighters and praise the exotac lol. It's basically a dead bic lighter with no guard and a hollow storage handle. I think we need a side by side challenge or a modifying a bic lighter to be like an exotac lol. Thanks for sharing as always. Stay healthy!
Zippo makes a sparker type tool now but its plastic . They tried putting it in a standard Zippo lighter case in bright orange but I think that's a collectors item maybe?. I mean you could pull the fiber and wick out of a Zippo, stuff a bunch of quick tinder tabs in the insert, back in the case, Gorilla tape it shut till you need it😂
Not a nerd..... a feathersticking & fire lighting God (bordering on the obsessive as you can get a nanospark to light a feather stick, I can achieve this also but just have to use a slight amount of lighter fluid (5 litres)....lol)🤣🤣👍👍
If you remove the metal cover from a BIC, won't it spark like that?! Just curious! I gave up smoking 3 years ago..First time I miss it becasue of the lighter lol!!
Would the Nanospark not be better with a liquids gas canister attached? I’ve seen the very thing for sale… I think they called it a Bic lighter? I think, with a bit of support from UA-cam channels like yours, they might catch on!
You just blew my mind with the upwards scraping tip 👍.
That dawned on me a while back when l was making ribbons (scrapings) with a silky saw.
😂😂👍the look of amazement on your face was priceless when the feather stick ignited.
I wouldn't have done that with a regular empty lighter.
Can't help thinking it's just an empty lighter Rob I've been doing this for years, love this fuc-ing channel no bs from one Welsh man to another 👍
lt's a pretty and expensive toy but it works and that's the main thing .
That bloody ferrorod on the otherhand....

Not sure wich was better to see, the featherstick igniting or the look of shock when it did. Great video!
l really didn't think it would light. l was giving it a 10% chance.
I was excited with you when the feather stick went up, I thought "there's got to be enough flint & tinder..." then it went boom 😎
H Rob, you weren't the only one surprised when the Exospark managed to light the feather stick, I've never had any of their products, but I'll take another look at them, look after yourself mate, stay safe, best wishe's to you and your's, Stuart UK.

I was looking at the brass ones but decided on the nanospark as it's visible, can go on a keyring and has storage for tinder.

The Titan light is fairly expensive, I'm delighted with the Nanospark.
Agreed, I say this in the next video!
😂😂 your face lit up quicker than the feather stick 😂

It throws far better sparks than an bic, bigger courser wheel.

Is that supposed to be like a zippo, you put petrol in the bottom? Like the titanlight. Sorry if I’m wrong 😑
The nanospark is just a flint wheel with tinder stored in the handle.
