  • In this video we will be filling in this trench in the homeowners backyard. This trench was excavated for new electrical lines for the solar panels so we went ahead and patched it back up for them using the ‪@mudmixer‬ concrete mixer! Don't forget to LIKE,SHARE,SUBSCRIBE and COMMENT!

It would be nice to do a product review on the mixer. Breaking down the cost, how to set it up, how to use it, and how to clean it. Great video.

The mixer and the fast set in the hand's of a pro looks great. However, in my hands total recipe for disaster :) Great video as always

yes you may want to stick to the basic concrete formula for a while

Always add shovel of Portland cement each batch to be able to finish nicer

I always like to add a small shovel of portland with each bag, but don't think the MM will get it consistent.

I looked up the cost and at $3,000 that’s a serious investment. Is it worth that cost? Not so sure after seeing the two videos you’ve made using it. You did a great job like usual, TYFS!!

Great job, but holy heck that fast set! I knew you were in trouble when you didnt mention dialing the slump to the wettest setting on the mud mixer. All is well that ends well though 🤙

Note to this 60 year old self, do NOT use Quick Setting concrete.
FYI, I bought & used the "Steele Mixer" last month and poured three 5'x6' pads. The regular Sakrete mixed okay with it, though there's not much cream in the mix.
I did it in the shade (90F) in Tampa Bay with the Dew Point a soggy 76F. Each pad worked out a half gallon of perspiration with no relief from evaporation.
It amazes me to see you West Coast kids work with dry shirts. 😂

No dowelling into the existing concrete at the sides? Won't this patch sink differently over the years and create a trip hazard where the different pours meet.

Hi all! Stumbled across your channel researching for my backyard. I’d love your opinion on if you think there is ANY product out there that is appropriate to use to stain / paint / treat outside concrete??. We had our backyard done and it is an extremely light grey color. I’d love it to not reflect as much as it’s honestly kind of blinding being out there. Greatly appreciate your insight. Thanks!

I have a question: I'm pouring a 10' x 18' pad underneath a patio cover, but doing it in 5'x6' sections. In between the sections, I made keyways on the sides (like on a foundation footing) using a couple 18" grade stakes attached to the form boards. The idea was to "lock" the sections together kinda like dowels to prevent unevenness if settling. Each new pad is edged as if it had been cut-in for crack relief & rebar is fully encased more than a couple inches from each edge.
Have you ever done something like this? Is it a wacky idea? What are your thoughts? (Pouring the entire pad in one shot would probably kill this 60 year old.)

nice work, how much did you charge for the job?
also are you 100% sure that this type of mixer is faster than a traditional electric concrete mixer? i mean in my mixer i can do a wheelbarrow of concrete at a time (about 100 litres)
